I need help! I am trying to feel the quarter dead lifts in my hamstrings, but just can't. I am putting the weight on my heels and leaning almost all the way to the floor before I even BEGIN to feel it pull in the hamstrings. I've got ALL the weight I have on my barbell, but I still don't feel it. What am I doing wrong??

Hi Nancy!

Go slow and make sure that bar stays very close to your body when you pull the bar up. If you are naturally just ultra flexible and touching your toes doesn't even phase you then you may need to stand up on the step while doing these quarter deadlifts. To do this, stand on the narrow end of the step with your feet together(if you do not like your feet together then go to the wide side of the step and separate your legs). Now lower the bar and do the exercise the exact same way except notice that you now have the ability to go down a bit deeper to recruit your hamstrings. BUT BUT BUT be VERY careful that you don't overstretch. Also, do NOT lock your legs out. Good Luck!
