Q: re dumbells v. barbells

Hi! Just wanted to tell you I love the CTX series! I do not yet have a barbell...and I am new to using weights. Per your advice on an earlier post, I am starting out using 3, 5, and 8 lbs. My question is this: When you are using your barbell, what do I do at home with my dumbells? Do I place them right above my shoulder and pretend I am using a barbell? Or am I supposed to hold them down? Or does it depend on the particular exercise you are doing?

Not Cathe but...

I usually just hold the dumbbells where it feels comfortable. For squats, I'll either hold them at my sides with my arms straight, or rest them lightly on my hips. In the Firm videos, they put them on their shoulders and hang onto the "bell" in front (if that makes sense the way I described it!

). For lunges, I usually just hold them at my sides with arms straight.
