increase in leg strength and definition

Hi. My question is: Would it be alright to do strength training say 3 sets with increasing amounts of weight along with MIS .
The reason I ask is I would like to increase strength of legs beyond high rep endurance. I would do MIS once and heavy strength training maybe twice in a week.
I hope this doesn't sound stupid but, I would like to really get into training heavy for strength as well as for endurance. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Donna.
 
Hi Donna - have you tried cathe's Slow & Heavy series yet?

I think this is the type of training you're looking for. She uses heavy weights, 3 sets of 8 reps, and the reps are 6-count. It's an excellent series and designed to build mass & strength

Sure Donna! There is no right or wrong answer. If you want to improve strength and endurance, then yes, do a little of both during the week. If you find after three weeks you are not getting the kind of results you were looking for, then alter your workouts in favor of what you would like to see improved. Good Luck!
