Question Core Balance Board

I'm interested in purchasing this, but I have to ask:

1. Is it something that needs to be inflated? If so, how. (I ask because some discs require a stability ball pump, others a sports ball needle, etc. One disc is being sold with a pump included.)

2. How is it adjustable? (Obviously, if it is inflatable, that answers my question.)

3. Can I stand, kneel and sit on it?

4. Is it an STS thing, or will future Cathe workouts feature this?

I'm currently working with a routine that requires a balance disc, so I'm in the market for one. I've seen inflatable discs of various sizes, but I'd rather purchase one from you guys since I've been so happy with all of my Cathe stuff.

Thanks!

Thumbs up

Hey guys,

Bob from Cathe.com was kind enough to send me some info:

1. no it is not inflatable.

2. there is a height adjustment that increases the difficulty.

3. I know you can stand and sit on it. It is plastic so you might want to put some soft cushioning on it before you kneel on it.

4. Cathe does plan to continue using this in other workouts.

Thanks again, Bob! Looks like I'll be purchasing this soon.

Okay, I finally got the balance board and love it. Adjusting the height is super easy and the platform is wide with great traction. I'll be using it with my Fitness Fix video and can't wait to see what Cathe has in store for us.

It's just what I was looking for.

Default Fitness Fix ?

Hi Lori,
I am ordering the balance board today - and wondering what Fitness Fix video you are using with it? I took a look at their web site and they seem to have many videos. Is there any one or more that you recommend for using with this core board? Thanks in advance!

Hi Ann,

Denise put out 3 DVDs: Beginner, Intermediate and Sports Conditioning (Advanced). I've been working with the Beginner, and I'm waiting for the Intermediate to come in the mail.

If you've been working out for a while, and especially if you're a Catheite, the Beginner DVD will seem way too easy. I'm using it after a bout of tendonitis, so it's great for people new to exercise or those who are injured. But you'd probably appreciate the Intermediate or Advanced DVDs.

Cathe's balance board will work for all 3. I would put a folded towel over it for the exercises that would require kneeling on the board, otherwise that could hurt.

These DVDs really sound intriguing. I am currently trying to recover from an elbow injury and having trouble finding much I can do comfortably, except cardio and core workouts. I'll probably try the intermediate and see how it goes. My Cathe core board should come in a week or so!
