Default Workout Manager Suggestions

I would like to see an exercise list by workout. For example, if I wanted to do Slow and Heavy, it would be nice to select the S&H workout and have a drop down list of the S&H exercises - then I could add what weights I used and if i did all the reps.

It would be good to be able to track S&H as is, or alternatively, have the flexibility to add additional exercises so I'm not limited just to the S&H exercises. For example, if my workout consists of slow and heavy back + pyramid back, i would like the flexibility to create and track this as one workout.

What is of particular importance to workout tracking is to be able to recall what weight I used previously and on what date. So if 2 weeks from now I do S&H back again, I could select this and see my S&H history. the dates are important because if the last time I did S&H was 9 months ago, I know to go heavier if I've gotten stronger. It would be interesting to see how i progressed and how much I increased weight over time.

A note section for future workouts (ie, go heavier next time) is important as well as an indicator of how strong i felt during that workout (thumbs up or down - maybe smileys or a mood indicator of some sort would be a welcomed bonus).

fitness fig has a breakdown of all the workouts...Amy Bento's Too! It's very helpful. But I agree...It would be nice to have it here on Cathe's site...

This is something we have talked about and might decide to develop. What would speed development of something like this would be if our community of users could develop a .csv or .xls spreadsheet of what you suggest. We already have the code done for doing this for STS, so it wouldn’t take too much effort to make happen. The difficult and time consuming part is creating the spreadsheets with all the data. What we plan on doing with our new website is having each of you help us design and make our site better. Our developers and programmers will visit these forums on a daily basis looking for not only problems, but also new ideas to develop. This will be a partnership where we all work together to make a better community and website. By using the leverage of our members to help us we can develop products more quickly and that better meet your needs and expectations.

Well I think this is a good idea.
And I certainly don't mind creating spreadsheets for the workouts that I have.
We would need a central respository so that we are not "over" duplicating each other. I used the term "over" because I certainly do not think there is anything wrong with more than one person creating a spreadsheet for the same workout; but I don't think we need 20 people creating speadsheets of the same workout?

I don't think it would be that much of an effort for the users to create the spreadsheets. Alot of us use these already. I have a quite few workouts broken down in excel that I could share. I can send you what I have.

Default Cathe Workout Spreadsheet Sample Attached

This would be an excellent feature!! I use the spreadsheets created by another member in the forum (fitnessfig ?) and would LOVE to see this in the WM.

I tried uploading the excel file, but the attachment feature doesn't allow for uploading .xls files. I created a tab-delimited text file of one of the worksheets to give you an idea of how it is structured. Is it possible to email you the excel file?

Please keep us posted on what else we can do to help move this feature along. This is by far the most important for me
