Default HungryGirl.com?

Has anyone used any of the recipes from this site and if so how did you like them?
I noticed alot of them used splenda and was wondering if anyone had a substitution for splenda that works well. I don't like to use artificial sweeteners.
I also noticed they had alot of vegan recipes so if you are interested in that you should check it out.
Tell me what you think.

Default Stevia.

You could try stevia, a plant-based sweetener, in place of Splenda. You may also be able to use Agave nectar, which doesn't spike your blood sugar. Both are available at Whole Foods.

I don't know how stevia would work in place of splenda. Is the volume of product vs. sweetness factor the same? A lot of the recipes are baked items, and if stevia is more concentrated than splenda, that is going to change the consistency of the dough/batter. Remember, baking is science, while cooking is art. Tweaking sugars, salts, flour, and leavening agents can result in some funky foods. I would try to experiment before replacing splenda with stevia in a recipe and bringing the food to a potluck, or something.

Hungry girl has some great recipes for junk-food addicts working their way to healthier eating, but I think many of the recipes will not fit for people trying to eat as cleanly as possible. I refer to it as the lesser of the evils, but not ideal. Not that I'm judging by any means, as I can't seem to kick my one diet coke per day habit, and doubt that I ever will, unless I become pregnant again.
