Afternoon ladies!
I did disc 29 Plyo legs today. Oh how I love those plyo discs! I have disc 30 down for tomorrow but I'm thinking I'll try to do it tonight or maybe Friday since I kind of want to do Afterburn tomorrow instead.

I'm tempted to skip the last 2 chest and back discs of Meso 3. My neck was just really bothering me after I did it on Sunday and I've developed a dread factor for those exercises. I went to the chiropractor yesterday and he fixed me right up! I don't know what I'm going to do in place of those though...maybe just a bunch of push ups and I'm starting to think I actually prefer the way kettlebell workouts work my back so I may do one on Sunday. I will probably try it with a lighter bell though just to be safe. Gotta work my way back to those particular workouts slowly I think!

Organic food... definitely expensive! It's so crazy! I find I will go through spurts where I buy organic stuff and then go awhile just getting the conventional stuff. It's so tough to shop super healthy. Before I met my husband I rarely ate red meat and never touched pork or sausage. The man insists on eating that kind of stuff and I can't really cook separate meals for myself and him...plus the kids only want the crappy stuff! I swear, my kids both like the most processed crap and when I cook healthy things they just pick at it! It's so frustrating!

Carolyn- I totally laughed at the 10 year old son missing the toilet thing...I have two boys in the house (7 and 42!) and they both seem to have trouble hitting the dang thing! What the heck is wrong with guys? It's not like it's a small target or anything!?

Zippity I'm glad you feeling better! Good to have you back! I would probably just do like your doing with STS and don't worry about going to heavy if it wears you out too much. Especially if you're just recuperating!

Marie- Whoo Hoo! Afterburn! That's awesome! You must be getting some of that energy back. Are you in your second trimester yet?

Jean- score on the Butts and Guts! Just remember to ease into it slowly!! I had CRAZY doms the first time I did that one so you might just wanted to do part of it at first! That's interesting about Lori and the Walking Dead. I'm really frustrated with how that character is written. She went all season acting like she hated Shane (after all, he tried to force himself on her in the season 1 finale!!) and practically asked Rick to kill him in the tent saying how dangerous he was...and then suddenly she's all nice to him right at the end? Ugh. I hate it. I don't know if the writers of the show want us to hate her so bad but I totally do!

Betty you're right...this nice weather is cramping the computer posts! Luckily I'm stuck at work right now. It's almost embarassing, but I have more time to be on here when I'm at work then when I'm at home! I'm constantly running around super busy when I'm at home.

Later girls!

Good afternoon! I was at the school library earlier. I have to admit, I am loving not doing STS anymore. I am really enjoying Gym Styles. This a.m. I ran and then did shoulders, biceps and back.
Marie, I am SUPER impressed you did AB!! Holy smokes! That is a tough one!!
Jean, you are going to LOVE butts and guts! That is my absolute favorite!
I too think that Lori wanted to be with Shane. Can't stand her!
Zippity, glad you are feeling better. I think your idea of going back and repeating the week of sts is a good one.
I called Beachbody again! they didn't have record of my first call to send new clips!!! So, I just got an email that says they are shipping the clips out 2 day fedex. Thank goodness I called.
Time to get some laundry put away. One more hour before the kids get home.

Default starting STS first time ever on Monday

This week I've been doing my OMRs and will be stating STS on Monday. I have a decent set of dumbbell sizes but will be getting a bigger variation of barbell plates and also some magnetic incremental weights. And a weighted vest, and a squat rack someday. On and on, ha ha. At least I have enough to get started and as I get going I'll have a better idea of what I really need.

Oh, we don't have TV reception (by choice) out here in the country, so I hardly know what you guys are talking about with all the TV chat.

welcome huecotx! Have fun starting STS!

Well, I wound up doing disc 30 last night! Two workouts in one day, unusual for me! It was so hilarious too because my kids wanted to "work out" with me. Dylan picked up my 5 lb weights and Lydia had 3 lb'ers. It was so funny. Dylan kept saying "oh yeah! Feels good!" Then Lydia would copy him! They lasted about 20 minutes and then Dylan was like "whew! I need to take a break!". It was so much fun. At one point I went out during one of the one minute breaks to get some water and Dylan yelled out "MOM! Triceps!"
Today I'm going to do Afterburn!

Have a great day ladies!

Hello everyone!

Finished Disc 18, I really felt my abs working when I did the one-arm rows. Probably a good thing, as I have really been neglecting my abs and cardio this week. Just not enough time!

When my kids were little they would sometimes exercise with me. It was a challenge to my patience, but they do grow up so fast so enjoy it while you can!

The other night my husband left the door open when he went out back to grill. So we got a house full of mosquitoes and my girls are covered in bites. Then this morning there were black ants in the kitchen, gross. I really like this warm weather but hate these bugs, its still only March!

Today I did Disc 36. I was exhausted when that was over. On the Incline curls, I did them on an incline bench instead of the ball and it was alot harder. My arms felt so fat when I finished today. I LOVE it. So I just have to repeat 2 discs and I am done.

MaryK where do you live? That is ashame about the bugs in your home. I hate mosquito bites.

I recieved my Tonique Mat the other day. I hope to preview it today and MAYBE do it tomorrow. That will get me prepared for B and G.

Carolyn I hope you get your clips soon. I am so excited to hear how you like it.

Missy The Biggest Loser is getting on my nerves. Conda's brother needs to stop enabling her to win everything. I was so hoping she would gain weight in Hawaii and go below the yellow line.

Huecotx Welcome to our group. I hope you enjoy STS as much as I have. I hope you are prepared for a zillion pushups. Where do you live? That is amazing that you don't have t.v. reception. Good for you. I spend too much time watching t.v..

Jean

Thanks for the welcome, everybody.

Jean, I live in far west Texas on a big ranch (we don't own it, just own 5 acres on it). But I stopped watching TV many years ago, when we still lived in the city. I was so addicted to it and really didn't have the time for that addiction.

So now, I'm just addicted to my computer and the internet.

I'm glad this thread is here for the inspiration that I get reading how far you guys have gotten in STS. I own and have done Cathe tapes over the last 15 years although I haven't done much strength training in the last couple of years. I'm back to it now though.

It's 77 degrees and beautiful outside!

Welcome, huecotx. Tell us your first name. Good luck with STS! I'm Betty, in the Boston area, and smack in the middle of Meso 2. I by choice do not purchase cable tv. But even so, spend too much time on dvds and broadcast tv, and computer/internet!

I've got exciting news! I found a Cathe mini-mat at Marshalls today!!! So excited! I was using a folded fleece blanket that covered 3/4 of the step.

Carolyn, I totally can relate about being happy not having to do STS anymore. I think I would like to select strength training when I feel like it, not have to do it for 3 months straight. (Sorry, huecotx.) But I'm still going to see it through to the bitter end! Your clips should at least be there by Friday. Don't you hate when there's always a weekend in there when you're waiting for something?

With the mild winter and early onset of spring, I think we are in big trouble as far as bugs and allergies, and heat this summer! I loathe, loathe, loathe mosquitoes. Between them and the humidity, I tend to hide inside in the summer.

Jean and Missy, every week when I hear from you gals that Conda is still there, much to my dismay, I begin to think that maybe her brother will win Big L! Oh no!

Colleen, I received the Hydraplenish today. And am so mad at Amazon for raising the Syn-ake price because based on your advice a few people bought some, and up went the price!

oh Betty, I freaked out when you said the price of Syn-ake went up so I went right to Amazon. I saw two bottles (must be shipped from two different sources) that were for $18.61 and $15.99 which is actually cheaper than what I paid last time (around $20). Whew! I'm not sure if it's okay to put a link but here goes:Amazon.com: syn-ake Were you looking at a different brand maybe? I usually get the one by University Medical which is the top two on the page. I hope you like the Hydraplenish! You'll have to let me know if you notice an improvement!
I'm totally with you on hiding indoors when the mosquitoes come out. Those suckers totally love me! It must be something in my body chemistry, I swear. My poor little Lydia gets humongous red welts when she gets bit, too.

Okay, I have a confession...would you guys think less of me if I stop Meso 3 early?? I just can't bring myself to do the last 4 upper body discs. I was doing disc 30 last night and I really wasn't enjoying it (other than listening to my silly kids get into it!). I really think I prefer the moderately heavy weights around 10-12 reps like in Meso 2. I enjoyed Meso 1 and 2 so much! Well, except the push ups in Meso 1 but I have sort of a love/hate thing with push ups! I'm thinking about finishing the next two weeks with the plyo legs but substituting Pyramid upper body and Gym styles back, shoulders and biceps and maybe do STS total body. If I did the full Athletic Training dvd (during STS I've been doing the lower body express premix) then that would hit my triceps pretty good...

huecotx- I don't know what I would do without my beloved tv shows! I don't watch a lot of tv hours per se...I don't watch any reality shows at all, but I'm a total addict to certain shows. I mostly like well written, serialized dramas or cult-worthy shows of the sci-fi/fantasy type genre. I'm a total nerd girl that way! BTW, you have to let us know your name so we don't keep referring to you as huecotx!
Speaking of which, Zippity did we ever get your name??

Jean, you're so close to being done! You'll have to report back about Tonique Mat. I seem to remember a lot of talk about that on VF.

Maryk- I know what you mean about neglecting abs and cardio! It's so hard to fit it all in! I really hit the cardio hard this week...I had to make up for my mindless eating the past few weeks somehow! I've been better the past few days...I don't know what was going on. I wasn't eating out of hunger, in fact I was able to control myself better when I was super hungry from Meso 2! It was mostly just mindless, not watching myself noshing!

Carolyn have fun with Gym Style legs! I really liked that one except the ball roll ins with one leg! That move actually put a lot of pressure on my knees so I think I'll skip that part next time!

Have a great afternoon ladies!
