Default Should I start STS over?

Hi Educated Crowd,
I completed chest and back for week 3 of Meso 3 on Monday of last week. Wednesday I went into the dentist for pain in my wisdom teeth. They pulled 2 wisdom teeth and sent me home telling me to take it easy and I specifically asked if I could workout. They said definitely not to get my hr up for a few days and then only take walks. Fast forward to Saturday. I had a temperature, severe pain, couldn't swallow, and breathing was becoming a problem so my husband took me to the ER. Found I had dry socket and an infection. I had labored breathing and couldn't swallow so they kept me over night and pumped me full of antibiotics, steroids, and finally awesome pain killers. I was released this afternoon once I could swallow on my own. Still in recovery mode but am wondering if all this time off will diminish my results from STS meso 3. Should I start the cycle over or just continue? I do not know when I will be up to lifting that much. I could be off for the rest of the week due to the pain in my throat. I have to assist my head to get up off the pillow. I have had amazing results with STS I don't think it would hurt to start over but only if I have too.
Input is appreciated.

Thank you,
Maurica

Awww , sorry you're going through that. I know dry socket is very painful...

Maybe repeat the last week you were on to prep your body for lifting heavy again, before jumping right in. I wouldn't think that you'd lose that much in a couple of weeks time. You were only, what, a week away from finishing? If nothing else, maybe just repeating M3 instead of the whole program. Listen to your body, though, STS will be right there waiting and ready whenever you are. ((HUGS)) Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, the antibiotics didn't help get rid of the infection so on 5/31 I had to go back to the hospital and they did emergency surgery to drain the abscess and install drains in my throat and mouth. I wasn't released until 6/9. I'm still recovering. Taking one day at a time. Today, 6/15, was the first time I've picked up a wt and barely got through some shoulder work. Doc told me yesterday that my body took quite a beating and will take time to fully recover and to not expect so much of myself. He also mentioned that I was fortunate to have been in such good health at the start of the infection. So, I'm just doing a little bit each day now that I'm not bed ridden and on heavy pain killers. Hoping I can start STS again in July.
STS will be there when I'm fully recovered. I must say I was disappointed at being 5 workouts away from completion and having this setback. Oh well... what doesn't kill ya right? lol

Gosh, how scary! Sorry for all you've been thru. Thankfully, you were in good health. I know how disappointed you are after getting so far thru the program...get well first and it will be waiting for you to start again. I'm not sure if I would start back with Meso 3 since the weights are heavy...maybe Meso 2? Big hugs!

Thanks Debbie for your encouraging words. My doc has me eating double the calories and wants me to rest but do a little each day. Which freaks me out but I do need to get back up to a healthy weight. One body part and a brief walk is what I've been able to do but then I'm wiped out. Feeling pretty pathetic but I know this is temporary.

Thanks!
Maurica
