Default Ohio is the WHAT state?

That's right - the BUCKEYE state. 12 dozen of Lorrie's buckeyes made and rolled. Tomorrow I'll do the chocolate dipping. And since I'm training for my competition, you KNOW I can't eat them (hey - for the first time ever I think, I didn't even lick the bowl!) So I will happily bring them along and share with any who so desire. See you next week.

HeeHee - they're done - and off to the freezer till next week. Thanks Jodi. Last year I brought coffee mugs from "the Ohio girls" each filled with 6 buckeyes. and gave one to Cathe and one to Nancy. Little, sweet, powerhouse Nancy. About 5 minutes after I gave it to her, she came and found me and said how good the buckeyes were. I asked "oh - you tried one already" to which she said "no, I tried them ALL!"

As and avid baker and sweets eater, which was VERY evident this past weekend while shopping for clothes for the Road Trip, those Buckeyes sound delicious!

If they are as wonderful as you say, maybe you could post the recipe?
Also, then, the people who don't get to taste yours, can make the cookies(is that what they are?) themselves!

Pretty please?

thank you!

Lorrie's Buckeyes

2 sticks butter, melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 pound powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts

Mix all ingredients together and roll into bite sized balls. Refrigerate until set. Meanwhile, melt 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips and1/2 cup parafin wax in double boiler. Dip the tops of the balls into chocolate mixture for the buckeye appearance.

Enjoy.
