Free time on Friday - what should I do?

Hello, July RTrippers and past Rtrippers, I'm a newbie on the August trip and I would like to know what I could do after the Friday step class to bide my time until the group party in the afternoon. How far is the Jersey shores or Atlantic City? Or what's around the area that you recommend? Where to eat for lunch? Where to shop possibly? Etc, etc....let me know! I leave tomorrow!

Hi JodelleFitzh20 ! Well, we will DEFINITELY be going to lunch somewhere. There are a tone of eateries in the area. There is a good sized indoor mall just minutes away. Of course, there will be plenty of hanging around getting to know each other at the hotel. I would suggest just playing by ear. Just plan on having a great time!

That helps...but I'm really more interested in how far atlantic City is from the gym as I'd like to go walk the world's first and oldest board walk while I'm close to it....or am i close to it? I don't want to go too far...

AC is about 45 minutes to an hour's drive from Deptford (about 50 miles).

Turn right out of the hotel parking lot...Make a left onto 42 S to the AC Expressway all the way in.

This was my first RT also in July. I had a roommate that I met through the forum & we just clicked. It was wonderful to finally meet her. After the Fri am step class we stopped at a grocery store & bought some healthy fare for lunch, took it back to our room , showered, put our pj's back on & ate lunch while sitting in our oh so comfy beds & watched a movie. I have to tell you , it was GREAT!! I NEVER get to just sit & relax. It was some good old fashioned "girl time". The entire weekend was great & I consider that one of the highlights. We were well rested when it was time to start the excitement.
