Hey Trippers!

Your official 2008 "Driving Directions" for the Road Trips have been e-mailed to you tonight. As usual, it's a nice PDF document suitable for your Cathe RT notebook. Please look for this e-mail and alert me immediately if you don't get it. My e-mail address is kathshap@comcast.net.

We've tried to make these directions as comprehensive as possible and we've checked them pretty much every which way but loose. But if you find errors in them, PLEASE POST HERE and let us know. We'd rather admit to the shame of it than have a single one of y'all lost.

EDITED TEN MINUTES LATER TO ADD: Well, we've already found our first, tiny, and we hope only error (mind-boggling ), brought to our attention by an Anonymous (But Beautiful) Alert Reader.

On page 5 of the driving directions (directions to the GYM from AMTRAK), there is NOT a toll road (partial or otherwise) going in that direction (towards Amtrak). The toll roads are ONLY from New Jersey into Philadelphia.

Please make a note on your copy. And sing out if you find other mistakes. (Oh please Santa, let them be tiny too. )

Hi Jodi! I did indeed get "Kathy S." back, and I was ridiculously thrilled about it.

I can't wait to have some time to play with the site's features (and for me, that probably means after BOTH RT's and after we take Evan up to Chapel Hill to officially "install" him as a freshman, because we do that the week after the August RT. I will be a puddle in the floor, I'm sure. )

But I just did a little quick whiz around the site last night, and WOW, is it going to be fun!!! I discovered an odd thing -- some of the features aren't working with my screenname but work fine with my temp screenname "TarHeelMom." Go figure! Poor Chris -- The man must have the patience of Job to deal with this stuff!!!!

Hope you guys aren't finding any more errors in our driving directions. I went to bed last night thinking "YIKES!" about that -- it seems we find little nits every year no matter how many people cross-check them for us. This year no fewer than 6 people read them for content for us, and then all three of us Coordinators spell-checked visually and via computer. And STILL we missed that toll road sentence. Un-flippin'-believable!!!
