Watercoolers Finally Friday

Good Morning Ladies!

My friend does indeed have Type2 Diabetes. Mix that with high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol, caused his symptoms. I've been on his case to get tested for awhile, but he's stubborn!!! I'm just glad it's finally getting treated.

I didn't get a moment to work out. We didn't get home from the hospital and pharmacy until dinner time. Spent my evening learning how to use the meter and reading the information to him.

I'll be back to chat later. It's time for him to check his sugars.

Wendy

Wendy....
Sorry to hear about your friend's condition, but at least you guys know what it is and you can treat it. How long are you guys going to stay up there?? I am assuming that Phil is off work on Monday, so you won't have to rush back. Sending love and hugs your way!

I will probably do either Squeeze or some kind of cardio today. We'll see what mood strikes me when I get a chance to workout. I had a good day with CBL yesterday. I have to make chili and pasta salad for the neighborhood 'do this weekend, so I will do that this afternoon, I guess. Hope everyone has a fun weekend planned and I will be back to catch up in a while.

kisses to all!
Debra

Yes, TGIF - Feckless at that!:p

Rough night, the little guy was having nightmares last night so ended up bunking with him, then of course slept in so its been a mad
dash to get ready for work but I made it with 2min to spare!

Wendy - I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis of your friend but at least you can work with what you know now. My DH is a Type 1 insulin dependant. So far I've been luckily enough to not have to get involved in the whole meter blood sugar reading. Mainly due to the fact that he wont test himself anymore b/c it hurts. I can appreciate that, but at least do it once a day. I know doing it 3-4x a day your finger tips never get a time to recover. Never had to give him his shot yet. I don't think he'll ever let me do that!!Just make sure that they diagnsis him right in that he doesn't need the insulin. They resisted that with my DH for some reason and he really had to fight for it. He was taking up to 20 pills a day and still feeling like CRAP. There was something wrong with that picture. This is all b/4 my time too so don't have any 1st hand experience of leading up to the diagnosis. I sure your friend is happy for all your help. Take care.

Debra - I glad to hear someone had a good day yesterday. Hmmm I LOVE Chili. Do you make it spicy hot? Is the school year over for homeschool'd kids?

Best go look up in the dictionary what the heck freakin Feckless means. I think I know but not entirely sure. I'm wonder if I wouldn't be safe with you Debra in a game of scabble.:p

Morning Coolers,

Well I think it is not going to shock a lot of you, but I think Amy Bento and I are going to split up. ;( ;( Sad but true, we just don't seem to see eye to eye on how I want my workout! :7 :7 Dang that lady makes my head spin, and I think these DVD's will go to someone else or sit on my shelf collecting dust! Took that DVD out of the player, and inserted KPC. :D

Todays workout was a 5m run, and since the girls and I are leaving tomorrow morning to go up north, I would like to get in BBC full body after work.

Oldest DD is going to be going to state as an alternate in the 4x800. :D She would rather be running in the race, but she will be there just in case something happens to one of the other girls. I'm proud of her just the same, her Freshman year has been a good one for her.

Wendy, Sorry to hear about your friend, but it is good that he got a diagnosis. My FIL is a diabetic, and he is now in stage 3 kidney failure. Make sure your friend keeps his sugar levels right, because my FIL is horrible about that stuff. This is why he is in his current state.

Debra, Chili and pasta salad is quite the combo! :D :D Sounds like a fun time will be had in the neighborhood this weekend. Glad you had a good time with CBL yesterday.

Patricia, Sorry to hear that you had to bunk with the little guy. Did you get kicked at all during that time? x( My girls used to put there feet on DH's or my back and push us out of bed. :7 :7

Sandra, WTG on the cut in your shoulder/back! Is this just another reason to get me into doing the plus workouts. I did receive an e-mail this morning about the new one-on-one with Tony. They will be sending me an e-mail when they are ready. I have heard that they are going to be $19.95 per DVD. On the web page it also said something about added features. Don't know what that means, but I'm probably going to be getting these. You also get the case to put your DVD's in. The 5K I am doing is on June 7th, and all I hope to accomplish getting in under 30 min. :7 :7 Is the YMCA an all day thing on Sunday?

Kim, Sorry to hear that your tooth is still giving you problems. That shouldn't be happening, since you have the crown right? Hope it is just an infection.

I'm hoping to get on tomorrow or tonight, but if I don't have a great weekend. I will be electonicless (really not a word) this weekend. :D Even the cell phone doesn't work at my brothers cabin.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good morning,

Wendy - My goodness your friend is so fortunate to have you and Phil in his life. You're good people.

Debra - A neighbourhood 'do sounds like a lot of fun! Will the crazy family be there? And did you ever resolve your social boundary issues with the mother?

Patricia - Oh dear. Does DS have nightmares often? My older DD (almost 8yrs) had a nightmare the other night. She doesn't do this very often. She came into my room at 3am for comfort, and told me all about it. Gawk!!! The kid's got some imagination! I'd hate to hear what she would come up with if we let her watch violent shows, or even watch the news. That's so funny about an Edmontonian calling you "remote." I've never heard of 10# Bootcamp. When I was on the X-Weighted website last night I found an interview with the trainer, Paul. The exercise he recommends is exactly how one would describe the P90X+ workouts. I thought that was interesting. Makes me want to make more of an effort to watch the show. Yes, come September I'll be able to take the Individual Conditioning course (yay!). This weekend's threads need to be called something like "Canadian Coolers and Debra".

Laurie - Oh, I'm sooooo sorry to hear about you and Amy breaking up ;) Yes, her style is definitely not for everyone. Too bad I already own the ones you have, otherwise I'd buy them from you. She's coming out with an Advanced Step Challenge #3, and the free-shipping pre-order day is June 1. I'll be ordering that one for sure. I'm so-so about the one-on-one workouts. What I like about P90X and the Plus is that Tony encourages you to do YOUR best, and only what works for you. I feel like the one-on-ones will be more compete-with-Tony in tone, and that turns me off. What do you think? Will you be using a pull up bar for the Plus workouts? I really feel like that's what's made all the difference for me. Have a super weekend!!!

This morning I did Low Impact Step, and in a few I'm going to do Finn's Daily Dose of Bliss. Have a great day!

Sandra

Not much exciting happening around here just getting in some housework and going to the dentist after lunch. My tooth woke me up again last night and I had to ice it and take some Tylenol before I could sleep again. Hope the dentist can find out what is wrong. Will also try and get in S&H Bi/Triceps some time today.

Patricia- We actually bought 2 pullup bars, one that isn't installed just slides into the doorway it needs to hang from the top of the door frame. You could use a chair for assisted pullups. That one only fit on the upstairs doorways and I like to work downstairs. So we also bought one that is installed. There are two brackets that get attached to the door frame and then the bar gets screwed in so can be removed between workouts. It comes with 2 sets of brackets so I was thinking of installing a set lower for pullups in a supine position. Dh did a rotation of P90X and really liked it, he mostly used the weight workouts although he did the yoga workout once and the cardio workouts a couple of times.

I'm guess you could use 4ds for the S&H substitution or I could get you the break down for the workout your missing and you could do it without dvd, it's pretty straightforward. Okay I just realized I posted mostly the same info that Sandra already gave you.
Yikes on the snow! I think we are supposed to have warm weather this weekend but who ever knows for sure. I have seen the last 10 lb bootcamp but find it a bit silly and scripted. Enjoy your donut today.

Laurie- Hope everything went ok with Cami at the vet. Congrats to dd on being the alternate for state How was the band concert? My race is June 15th and I get back at 11:30pm on the 14th from a business trip. I'll need to be up at 5 am to make the race. Will be glad it's over. I might start the + rotation on the 16th. Have fun camping!

Sandra- There are new episodes of X-Weighted on Wed at 7pm here, I think it's very well done compared to TBL. Just encouraging healthy lifestyle changes and not in a "gameshow" format. The one this week the girl was from a small town outside Toronto her goal was to climb the stairs at the CN tower. She lost 64 lbs in the 6 months.
My molar broke in February due to a bad sinus infection that damaged the dental nerve (I didn't even know that could happen), it's took 3 different appts to get the crown completed with the last appt a week ago. This last week my lower jaw is so painful waking me up at night the tooth which is on the top not the bottom feel fine. My lower jaw is all swollen. I thought maybe it was just bruised from the dentist being rough but it's not going away so now I'm thinking infection.

Wendy- I'm glad that they were able to diagnose your friend. Hopefully he will start to feel better soon after his sugars are controlled.

Debra- Is your dd having her friends over tonight?

Back to the housework. Kim

Well the dentist appt was a bust. She could see that where it was swollen and painful but could not see what was causing it. She thinks it might be a nerve and is referring me to a specialist. ;( It is a little better each day so maybe will disappear on it's own before I get into the specialist. Kim

Good Evening Coolers

Still at work as I'm waiting on someone to do something so I can meet a deadline today. GRRRRR DH and DS are at home waiting for me for dinner. I need to meet this deadline as we have internal auditors showing up bright & early on Monday so need to get this done now.}( }(

Laurie - I tend to agree with you about Amy. I had her Hi/Lo Extreme and traded it away but ITR sounded so good but I've only done it 3x now and not sure when I'll feel like trying it again. You should be so proud of your DD going to state. I'm sure she'll enjoy the experience and you never know you'd hate for something to happen so one of the other girls but stuff happens. DS sleeps in a twin bed so it can be a bit tight and he likes to get as close to me as possible. Most time its not too bad except last night he was restless and kept crying out in his sleep very hour or so. I must say his sleeping is getting better though. He turns 3 in July so I'm hoping the middle of the night visits start to decline.:) Have fun for the long weekend at the cabin. I'll be at our cottage most likely on Sun. for the day and the weather looks good so should be able to spend most of it outside.

Kim - OUCH on the toothache still even after your dentist visit. Did she at least prescribe something stronger than Tylenol? I've got T2's left over from my Lasik and T3's left over from my C-section. I'm keeping them just in case I need them one day.:p :p

Sandra - I sometimes wonder what kids are picking up by just being in the room when we're watching t.v.? We try not to have anything violent on but somtimes you don't realize there is going to an inappropriate scene until it too late. The nightmares are getting to be a lot less now and usually I can just go to him in the middle of the night reassure him or lie down for a while and leave but not last night.

The pull-up bars - when installed can you still close the door if you take the bar off?

Off to see what my co-worker is up to now.}(

yes, the doors can be closed with or with out the bar in place. I just tried mine to double check. Kim

Thanks Kim for checking

Just home from BB. We won YEAH:) :) Tonight's game was close we were behind then ahead then behind the yeah we won. I played well (not as terrific as Tues) but can't use up my store of good plays all at once LOL:p

Everyone going out for a quick drink but its after 11pm now and I have to be up at 6 and on the road. I won't have access to a computer to mid a.m. so will check-in then. Will probably use Sat. as a rest day.

Night Night.
