Morning Yogini's -

This morning I ended up doing Bootcamp and then I added on 25 minutes of G-Force Rebounding cardio. I also did Coremax Section 3 with my 8 pound medicine ball and then I did Yoga Mind & Body with Erich Schiffman & Ali McGraw. Total cardio & Bootcamp was 1 hour 30 minutes and I burned 490 calories.

I have my appointment with the ENT doctor this afternoon. I had my CT scan done on Friday. I'm quite upset that I havent' been able to smell since my last appt with the ENT specialist. Prior to that appt, I could smell off and on....but now not at all! I think he must have done something when he examined me. I hope it comes back so I can at least smell off and one like I was able to previously!

I'll also be going over to visit Mom at lunch time. I've been going over and eating lunch with her daily. I usually take a salad over. Diane Sue got me started on these Southwest salad's from McDonalds. They are really good.

Jen - The new Ravi & Ana's are up for Presale at Amazon for release on July 1. I'm glad you like the look of Xflowsion so far. I really like Calm Down Dog. I bet if you do it one day after a stressful day at work, it will be soon be a favorite I really like the Audio workout also. It is 30 minutes and it's fun. Great music. Don't forget to try that one.

I'm so sorry about what you're going thru with wanting a child. I wish there was something I could do to help you. I know that has to be very stressful and frustrating. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my babies (furry ones).

Have a great day ladies.

Hi ladies,

Don't know if you saw my late post y-day but I was able to fit in a nice evening yoga routine called "Evening Bath" from Hemalaya's Yoga for Urban Living. It was very slow, stretchy, & relaxing... although I think the savasana could have been a little longer. This morning, I did IMAX 2... fun, fun, fun... & I sure could have used some yoga at lunch but I ran out & bought some new workout sneakers instead (my old ones were starting to hurt my feet). I ended up getting New Balance 336 Cross Trainers for $30 & they are very comfortable so I thought that was a good deal. I've also never owned a pair of New Balance before, although I've always heard they're really good shoes. In the past, I've always been a Nike girl & always had great experiences with them. But the last 2 pair I've bought just haven't been as comfortable for me so I thought I'd give a different brand a try. What type of shoes do you ladies wear for your workouts?

Lora - Goodness, I sure hope your sense of smell comes back soon! I wonder what caused that? Great workout as usual!

Jen - I hope you saw my post from last night. I don't know what to say except that I second what Lora said. I'm just very sorry for what you're going through & I hope it all works out for you.

Well, no yoga for me tonight unless my DH has to work late again... which is a real possibility. I'm a little torn about it, though. I'd rather him be home on time so we can have supper & spend some time together but at the same time, I'd really like to do some yoga. Oh well. I guess it will work out one way or the other. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a nice afternoon & I'll check back in later!

Back from my appt and drug store. Same problem....Pansinusitis ...in other words, every sinus cavity is full of fluid...severe infection and severe polyps throughout. Gave me a tapering dose of Prednisone and some antibiotics that look like horse pills and will cause me to get a yeast infection. Joy! I already took similar meds before when I went to the last doctor.....but oh well.

Kel - the loss of smell is from the polyps in my sinuses. Some of the polyps are blocking the olfactory nerve (the little hole that you smell from that is at the edge of the brain). I wear Saucony athletic shoes. Get them online at Zappos.com. I wear the Tangent Grid's (under Racing Shoes under Saucony) for running (best shoes every - I also wear them for aerobics) and I wear their cross trainers also. I have turned into a Saucony girl ever since my first pair. I haven't worn anything else for the past few years. They are great. I used to wear Nike a long time ago and then New Balance for a while. I tried Ryka's but didn't like them at all. Where do you get Hemelaya? Never heard of this yoga. Do you think I would like it? Lots of twisting, forward bending and hip openers?

Lora - Oh my. That sounds like a terrible condition to live with. So there isn't anything that can be done besides surgery... which you don't want to have?

I've never tried a pair of Saucony shoes. Many years ago, I found a pair of Nike Airs with the pockets that were visible under the heels & they were great. After that, I found another pair that were equally as good for my feet. Then, they quit making the kind I like (isn't that how it always happens) so I got a pair of the Shox & they were okay but not as comfortable as the original Airs. The last pair of Nikes I got & the ones that have worn out the fastest are Nike Air Max, semi high tops & they've never really been quite comfortable enough. The New Balance, on the other hand, were immediately & noticeably comfortable from the moment I tried them on... & since they were on sale so cheap, I felt I couldn't pass them up. Our area is fairly rural & I'm not sure I could even find Sauconys here... & I really need to try them on before buying. Thanks for the information, though!

The yoga DVD is actually titled Hemalaya Behl's Yoga for Urban Living & it's somewhat different than your typical fast-paced yoga practice. I don't remember where I got it but I think you might enjoy it since you like many different types of yoga. There are twists & she also shows you how to advance into the full position in each pose (for example, semi-lotus twisted so that you're holding the foot in lotus position with the opposite hand - I can't do that yet but I'm sure that helps explain it). The instructor, Hemalaya, is of Indian descent, so it has that really authentic, ancient feel. The DVD is approximately 150 minutes long & contains 3 different routines, along with instruction, breathing & meditation techniques. I really enjoy the full 60 minute routine when I have the time to do it... & it actually makes me a little sore too (toxins, maybe?). I think the DVD can be purchased at Natural Journeys or Amazon or probably most other sites that you would find fitness DVDs like this. I hope you find this information helpful & please let me know if you have any other questions.

I probably won't be back tonight b/c I just found out my DH is coming home... yeah! So I hope you ladies have a nice evening & I'll be back tomorrow.

Hi ladies! Posting late tonight, so I will be quick. Today was leg day, so I did about 4 segments of Jari's Ripped WO. I did three of the segments three times through in pyramid down fashion and then did an ankle weights segment twice through. My legs did not go to failure but they were shaking and I had a good burn so I am hopeful for good results.

Thanks again to both of you for your kind words and listening. I appreciate it. DH & I have settled on Aug/Sept for a consultation with IVF dr. That will still give us plenty of time to keep talking it over.

Lora-Gosh, that must be weird to not have a sense of smell. Glad you are at least back to receiving some treatment again, even though it is antibiotics x(. I get the same results (yeast) with taking those-yuk! x( How is your mom progressing? Are her spirits any better than last week? BTW, I have been meaning to ask you-have you heard of the Yoga Live series with Russell Simmons and Sara Ivanhoe? It was released a couple of years ago and I just happened to think of it the other day. Just wondering if you know anything about it and if it is any good or not.

Kel-I wear New Balance. I used to wear Saucony's but for some reason seem to have trouble finding them in cross trainers. Most stores around me only seem to carry them as running shoes. I am sure I couldn't wear Nikes since my foot tends to be very slightly wide, but I really like the way the Shox look! Can you do step in them? Seems like that would be hard.

Have a great night ladies! Talk to you tomorrow.

Jen
