Trying to Fit Yoga In for Thursday Feb 29

Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Amy Bento's Kickbox Extreme. Workout was 59" and I burned 536 calories. I haven't done this for a while and had trouble following a couple of the combos. I was supposed to go down and use the Ellipitcal this morning, as I'm trying to add another low impact day in my week for the sake of my joints. Maybe next week.

I'm a little bit sore from yesterdays Barry's.....YAY! Not real bad...but at least, a little! Tomorrow's Kettlebell day and I have a newer Extreme KB workout to try that's shot on the beach in Mexico! It's supposed to be Killer!

I'm looking forward to this weekend...for obvious reasons...but also cuz I have my new PY4H Surf Edition to try with Eion! I wish it had a restorative premix though but it's mostly power yoga.

RE: Barry's Bootcamp...I probably should have mentioned that the music is hip hop sounding with vocals (probably like the kind they listen to in live Barry classes). Barry sings along to the songs here and there. He's a trip. He acts just like a little kid sometimes....thus, one of the reasons I adore him! He is obviously very passionate about exercise. He also walks around the room picking on different individuals here and there....pressing on their shoulders to add weight/resistance to them when they are doing plunges (pylo lunges). I really wish more workouts had this kind of music.

Better go get ready for work. Just finished my Simply Harvest Maple Pecan Quaker oats cereal, Dannon Lite & Fit cherry vanilla yogurt and my apple sprinkled with cinnamon and a bit of brown sugar....microwaved.

Lora-those I was laughing about your pancake porn episode at Bob Evans. I have never had those, but they do have something similiar at IHOP, it's stuffed french toast, or something like that. I always see the commercial. Looks good, but I am more of a 'closet' eater. I pick at stuff, and then I don't feel so guilty. I cannot wait to hear your review on the new Eionn this weekend. So it's mostly all Power Yoga?

Jen-nice workout. I used to dread doing leg workouts, but they are so effective. I don't have GSLegs, but I have heard it's amazing. I can't believe you went so heavy on those with your BB! I am bowing in reverence. I am such a wimp with weights.

Good morning everyone -

Just wanted to pop in & let everyone know that everything went okay yesterday. I had to be at the hospital at 7:30 & my surgery was over around noon but I ended up being there until after 5 because I "couldn't go". So (I hope this isn't TMI but...) they ended up doing a cath & then all I could think of was getting my prescriptions filled, taking some medicine, & lying down. I hadn't eaten since the night before but I wasn't even hungry. After I rested for awhile, my DH made me eat something anyway, though. I think I'll go lie down again now but I just wanted to be sure & let everyone know first. Thanks for thinking of me & I hope you all have a great day.

Hi ladies,

It is a chilly -30 degrees celsius in T.O. today.... you wouldn't guess though - if you saw how bright and sunny it is outside. I'll take this over more snow though!

Managed to do Shiva's prenatal yoga today.. 1st workout all week. Tomorrow is pilates day.

Lora - Oh your so lucky to have the new Eion. Pls post how you liked it and how it compares to the others. I can't wait to get back to more power yoga. I was watching Martha Stewart one day last week, where Brooke Shields was the guest. Her arms are so cut..and she says that she did it primarily with yoga. She does not lift weights at all.

Kel - Glad to hear your surgery went well. Try to rest and take it easy. Even if you feel better on the outside - there is still healing going on in the inside...so be good to yourself and get lost of rest.

Carrie - today's porn was Brownie Porn! ONe of my coworkers brought in a pan of brownies. I freakin' love chocolate and love brownies and NEVER eat them!! I don't normally have them in my house......so when I saw those frosted brownies....I had to have a small piece....which led to 2 large pieces after all the small pieces I ate......and now I feel SO freakin' guilty........but boy - chocoate is sooooooooooooooo good! I was in heaven for a brief moment. Why or why am I such a freak about food! Why can't I just not like to eat??? I still want those Pancakes and can't stop thinking about them!! LOL. I haven't really watched Eion's PY4H Surf yet....but it is titled Power Yoga for Happiness....and from the reviews I've seen at VF, it's a toughie! The premix names are real cool too.

Off to eat my dinner.........not that I need it after the brownies!
 
Hi ladies! No WO for me tonight. My legs are killing me after last night's WO.

Lora-I know what you mean about those frosted treats! I always thought frosting was "overkill" on desserts like brownies and cookies, but I recently tried a frosted cookie and thought-what else have I been missing out on all this time! :p That's good news on the Barry's music too-I bet I would like this series even more than the last one. I am sure I will cave within a matter of weeks.

Carrie-Yippee for Thursday! (*claps hands*) You are rockin' P90X, there's no way you're a weights wimp. I refuse to believe it! I saw your post about the marathon weights rotation. Can't believe someone hasn't answered that yet, but it is a tough question. I think you almost always will sacrifice some muscle when training for that kind of endurance cardio. I think I mostly have read that you have to make sure you eat more when doing primarily cardio and fewer weights or your body will burn that muscle for fuel. Yes, GS Legs is a great, but much feared workout!

Kel-So glad to hear from you and that things are okay. Sorry about the cath-I am sure that sucks, but I am sure it's quite temporary and you'll have it out in no time. In the meantime, I hope you get some good rest and wish you a speedy recovery!

Yve-Good to *see* you! How are you feeling? How are the prenatal classes coming along? Way to go on getting a workout on the board for the week! Go easy on yourself though-you've been doing great all along and as I said earlier, I am sure you are healthy and radiant! ;)
