squeaky-clean-tuesday

Morning all,

Sorry my posting has been so sporadic - my studying is keeping me pretty busy. I have another exam this Friday for my Speech, Language & Hearing class. It's covering three long, detailed chapters so I'm doing a lot of focusing on that. And my anatomy class is in full swing with studying all the different parts, muscles, and ligaments of the larynx. Crazy stuff.

Katie, how was your crazy long day? Have you been able to lose the weight you gained during your running season? How are your evening treadmill sessions going?

Kate, I love how you play wii with your kids. We had one and Ryan sold it and now that Anna is old enough, I wish we could play. Did Isabel's tooth come out? So fun! You're continuing to rock your WOs and make me so proud! Love your quote too! I need to remember that!

Becky, we're all surprisingly healthy here. I'm surprised. I figured we'd be down for the week! Gotta love vitamin C! Glad you enjoyed 30/30! I love that one!

Nina, I like how your posts start out with, "I slept until 6..." - like it's late or something. ;) What did you end up doing for dinner last night? I love dove choc. I have no PC with it. I'd have to lock it up or something and have Ryan give me one piece a night.

Robin, I think chatting with other people while reading would be fun. It motivates you to read! I love you tube for recaps. Great job with PUB. Sorry about the injury! :(

Wendy, welcome back! I'm so glad you had a great time. There is nothing like the magic of disney! I know what you mean about getting back to the swing of things though! Hop back on the wagon! :)

Colleen, sounds like the weekend was pretty crazy. I haven't done an insanity workout since I hurt my shins. I'm afraid to... but I kinda miss the craziness of it.

Anne, WTG with the push up progress. I definitely feel like such a weakling compared to Cathe and crew! I love how we plan rotations 3 months out. After my "sts" rotation, I plan to do FF's December '08 rotation. If I'm not careful, I'll plan myself through the year.

Lisa! Hi, how are you? Children's books are a true love. I miss our library sooooo much! You are busy and we know it! Love to hear from you when you have a chance. Keep up the good work with P90X! Oh, and I know at least Robin has CLX... can't remember who else.

Clintoya, where do you live again? I'm surprised my little French village looks like your neighborhood. I hear you on needing short WOs for the summer. WTG on month one!

DrBecky, I think it's funny how we're all so "excited" about the Feb rotation. We're such fitness dorks. LOL re: cart rage. My dh gets that all the time here. People stop in the middle of the aisles to chat and don't even bother to notice that you're trying to get through. So annoying. Oh, and Ryan so badly wants a pair of vibram 5 fingers! He thinks they're awesome... I think they're weird looking. :)

OK, hopefully I'm caught up in my marathon post! Gotta get the girls to school and get my wo done. Today is Double Wave Pyramid which I haven't tried yet. I always like something new! Was up late watching The Time Traveler's Wife with Ryan. Good movie but the book (or audio book for me) was way better.

OK... report back after my WO.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Just finished HIIT Pyramid. Had to modify the second round a bit because I kept getting nauseous but I didn't want to stop. I was a little disappointed that the second round was the same exercises as the first. Oh well.

Eating some table crackers and babybell cheese... not sure what to think about my stomach.

Gotta shower and pick up girls. BBL.

Morning Angie! Good luck with all the studying! To answer your questions... No, I haven't yet lost the weight from my half marathon training season :( I am getting in those evening tm sessions whenever I can and it is making me feel good, but no results yet. I am so stressed over this TTC stuff and the weird stuff going on with my cycle, and I think that has been affecting my weight loss. I am going to see my midwife this afternoon to hopefully get some answers. This may be *TMI* but I have been spotting for about 2 weeks (pretty much every day for 14 days or so now) - in the middle of my cycle - which is very abnormal for me. I hope she gives me some insight into what is going on. I have been so down about this stuff that I turn to food and sleep for relief...

I'm going HiiT pyramid today too - wish me luck!

Angie, Your studying is very impressive! You are doing great!
Isabel still has her tooth in. She is beyond excited to lose it! There is nothing more beautiful than an excited child!:D She just GLOWS talking abt losing htat thing!
Laura & I think that HIIT Pyr is harder than 40/20. Yeah, it would be nice if the 2nd round was different.
Thanks for the complimetns - it feels go to be in a good WO routine!

((( Katie ))) Hang in there! I know how stressful that it and stressing makes it worse. You'll get your baby when the time is just right! We waited a loooong time for Julia - years. God's timing is perfect.
Have a great stress-busting WO!

-
Woke up late so I'm going to try to do my stretch w/ the girls up and around this AM. We'll see how THAT goes!:p
Laura is coming over during J's nap so we can cardio together - not sure what yet.
GS shoulders tonight. Maybe Bi's too if I'm feeling up to it.

Mike has to work late so I'm picking my girls up from school and taking my them out shopping and to dinner. I'm excited for a girls night out!

Better get movin'! See ya!

Morning ladies.

Katie I think it's a good idea that you talk to your midwife. Try not to overwhelm yourself because you are human.

Angie a test every week:eek: but you'll do good.

Kate do you do stretching every day. I so want to do that.

Off to make waffles for kids...they are home from school again. I have nice DOMS in my upper body, even though I went lite with some of the weights.

bbl

r, yes, i stretxh everyday. feels so good!
2 snow dys in a row?! wow! lucky ducks! i love doing waffles for the fam!
wtg doms!

good morning. date night was so fun. i had seared ahi tuna salad with mango and avacado. no dressing and it was awesome!! bad sleep night - finn was up from 2:30-5, so then i stayed in bed till 6. now when am i going to workout??

angie, great job with all the studies. you sound excited.

katie, ttc is so stressful, but just talk to your dr or a midwife if they recommend it, and try to relax. was it easy to get pregnant with collin?

kate, have a good stretch. how do you make your waffles?

good morniig robin! is the snow disappearing at all?

gotta catch up with yday. bbiab

Nina your dinner sounds so good. Sorry about your sleepless night. It went up to 45 degrees yesterday and turned some of the ice to slush. I'm not sure what's going on now. Soon i will have to drive to work but i'll take my time.

Morning! Quick drive by (again)--it's meeting madness Tuesday for me. I did HiiT 30/30 last night and I'm happy to report I did all of the intervals. I skipped a few reps here and there and took a couple longer breaks than Cathe and crew, but this is the first time I didn't skip any intervals at all, so I feel like there's some cardio progress as well. Then I did SJP abs, that's shorter than Ab Circuits, but it was tough. I made it through, tho. Tap class was fun, we're learning the dance for the recital and it's going to be really cute.

I'll catch up on personals later this AM, promise!

anne

Nina, Sorry for the hard night! I have no doubts, however, that you'll fit your WO in there somewhere!
Glad your date was so nicee! I can't wit for ours!!

Anne, WTG on your WO!
When is your recital? I am so bummed we'll miss ours!

-
Just finished stretching. It was pretty interesting doing it while being a jungle gym for Isabel & Julia! Part of me wanted to be annoyed but they actually helped the stretch by sitting on me at certain points it pushed the stretch further. So.....maybe I'll start doing my stretching w/ them around and get more sleep in the morning???? Plus, I'm so stiff when I wake up - maybe it's better to wait til I've been up and around for longer?? Sorry to ramble!:p

Good Morning Everyone!

Stuffy this morning so I didn't work out. I am really tired of this sinus stuff coming and going. I think it is the weather but I may go see an allergist just to get some relief. I may try to stretch and do some core work tonight. It is my recovery week and technically I have not had a day off so if I don't get it done then its okay. We have snow in the forecast tonight so I will probably be out shoveling tomorrow morning.

Katie, sorry about all the stress. I hope your dr. appt goes well today.
Angie, did you find someone else to proctor your exam for you?
Kate, too funny about stretching with the girls. IKWYM about being tight first thing in the am. The flower girl was not upset at all. She had a blast at the reception dancing.
Robin, I can't believe it is taking them so long to clear your roads. Everything was cleared by Sunday morning here.
DrBecky, I want to go out and try those shoes but I haven't found the time. I don't like stretching in bare feet but socks are slippery.
Anne, ^5 on the pushups. It's great to see improvement.

b: oatmeal w/ pumpkin
l: either steamed tofu w/ veggies or grilled chicken salad, clementimes
s: blueberries & yogurt w/ walnuts
d: pork, veggies & couscous

Angie, I live in the Richmond, VA area. We just got 13 inches of snow and I am on a cul-de-sac too-grand mess :) Good luck w/your exams and hope you are not getting sick!

Katie, I hope you can get some answers from the mid-wife. I’ll be thinking of you :)

Kate, great wo’s planned for the day! Have a fun girl’s night!!

Robin, yea for the doms! I want some waffles please :):)

Nina, glad you had a fun date night! Hope you can find a time to get your wo in.

Anne, great job on 30/30! I can’t believe it is already recital time of the year – where did last year go??

Colleen, sorry you are not feeling well. It’s hard to get a good start to the day w/the head/sinus issues.

Becky Sue, what a way to start the day! It makes me remember that my work issues really are not crises!

Back to work today and will probably take a complete rest day today.

Hope everyone is having a good morning!

Clintonya

Hi everyone! Sorry for not getting back yesterday-it was crazy around here! Good news is I filled all but one spot in the blood drive! And, more importantly, I got my workout in! Eats were good til I got home from dance-I wanted ice cream, but settled for a bowl of Lucky Charms and some Dove dark chocolate hearts-too much sugar! Ah, well. Today is cardio and abs-not sure what workout. Dance tonight and lots of tv on tap-basketball and the Lost premiere!

Angie, you're making me jealous with all your school talk! I love learning just for the sake of it. I had 5 dove hearts last night! Hope your tummy feels better!

Katie, I'm sorry you're so stressed out. It'll happen-you're young and fit and have already been preggo. You have a lot on your plate-full time stressful job, house, kid, marriage. Just relax, get your workouts in, eat healthfully, and let nature takes its course. Hugs.

Kate, have fun today! Where are you going shopping/dinner? Nice workouts for sure!

Robin, waffles sound delish! My kids have winter break next weeek-Friday and Monday off:)

Nina, I missed your having a date night! Glad you enjoyed yourself! Slept in til 6? That's called waking up early in my house!;)

Anne, nice job on the workouts yesterday!

Colleen, sorry about hte sinus troubles. My mom had such bad infections, she had surgery a few years ago-not pretty. She does feel much better now, thank goodness. Enjoy your recovery week-mine's next week. I need to make a plan.

Clintonya, enjoy your rest day!

anyone have any easy hummus recipes? we went to a bouncing place this am. hopefully the boys will be tired enough to nap, ifeel the need to hiit it and kickbox!

klaudia, your cheat sounds like a good sub for icecream. great job with your wo.

colleen, sorry for the sinus trouble.

robin, drive safe.

kate, the boys love to climb on me when i am doing core work and stretching. it get s a little dicey doing those one legged rollin pikes on the ball, though:p

clintonya, i lived in midlothian va for 3rd thru 8th grades. what part of richmond are you in?

lunch for the boys. i do not want my belly full for jumping.

Hey everyone, dinner done. Made a pork roast in the crock pot, oven potatoes, and corn. My roasts are always dry. Any advice?

Kate, YAY for Isabel's tooth. How fun!? I didn't know it took you a long time to get pg with J. Do you know why? Seems like carrying and delivering are pretty easy for you!

Katie, hang in there and lots of (((HUGS))). Just check with your doc. A little hormone cream can do wonders. Praying for you and I agree with Kate that it will happen in God's time. Somehow, I know in the midst of it that that's not what you want to hear though. :(

Robin, how were those waffles? Did you make it to work ok? And yay for the DOMS.

Nina, I hope your nap time workout goes well.

Anne, great job with 30/30 and I love SJP abs. Dance sounds so fun! When do you leave for the cruise?

Colleen, sorry you're not feeling well. I don't blame you for wanting to see someone. You've been under the weather a lot lately. I did find someone to proctor my exams - at the library they're going to do it for free. Such a relief!

Clintoya, I've never been to VA but would love to go. Hear it's beautiful. I hope I'm not getting sick either. No tolerance. I was sick at least once a month all last year - so annoying.

Klaudia, TV night sounds fun. I love cereal for snacks. I could eat it for every meal. I miss Kashi so much!

Gonna play monopoly jr with the fam.

See y'all tomorrow!

yeehaw! 4020 done!
clean eats too!

Clintonya, Enjoy that rest day!
I am beyond jealous of your snow! We just have some flurries.

Klaudia, WTG w/ the blood drive! Sorry abt the munchies!
Have a fun night tonight!

Nina, I've never had hummus - what am I missing?
Yeah, pikes & toddlers don't mix too well!:p

Angie, I can send you a roast recipe but it's a PITB to make! Takes a while/lots of hands-on stuff....but Mike refuses to eat roast any other way! Let me know if you want it.
Julia.... Well...My periods didn't come back after I had Isabel for just over 2 years. Around her 1st bday we were thinking we wanted a 3rd. I saw every fertility specialist in town...no one could find anythign wrong. Well, I gained 10 lbs ( I was down to 120 and I'm 5'6" - too low for me) and my periods came back. At that point we decided we didn't want any more kids. Fast forward to Feb 2008 and we decided that M should get a Vasectomy. That was Saturday. Sunday I discovered I was Late - took a Preg Test...and hyperventilated. Seriously. I could not believe it. But she has been the greatest source of blessing in our marriage, family, and whole lives. What's crazy is I should NOT have gotten pregnant. We only had sex 1x that month and it was after I ovulated. God wanted us to have her. is timing is perfect.:D
Right now Julia is 15 months and I have no period...boo hoo for me right?!:p It sure ain't too little body fat this time around!:p I'm content right now to call 3 good - but we'll think again about it at the end of the summer. While I LOOVE having babies it's nice to enjoy big kids too. But I wanna deliver just one more time!!!!! My SIL posted on FB that anyone who says that childbirth is easy is "like taking credit for being tall - DUMB"....and there must be something wrong w/ my anatomy. Thanks.... She runs to Mama every time I breathe a word about her - funny she didn't tell Mommy that she said that about me.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Better shower up and get readyfor my girls date!

See ya!

wo done -boys actually napped. i did 40/20 and kbx thru combo 5. i dunno, but i was not in the mood for 40/30 today. i dreaded it and di it anyways. glad i am done.

angie, i hope you stay healthy - rest up. no tips on roasts here - maybe more liquid?

kate, you would love another one, i am sure, but 3 might be your perfect number. i am still coming to terms with no more little ones. i was looking back at pictures over the last 12 months, and it blew my mind!!

eats are clean - i want to play with my little guys!

backa t the gym day 2 and BOY am i feelin it!!! also, back to grind on my driving lessons, i scheduled more sessions. was avoiding them but cali is still happening and im determined to be a driver by then.

kate, no hummus??!?! blasphemy!!!!!!!! lol. it is such an easy and healthy protein thing... i like to dip carrots or josephs low carb and flax pita in it.

nina, i make hummus like this (sorry my measurements are not exact but its really up to your taste anyway):

1 can chickpeas, drain but save the liquid
2-4 T lemon juice
1-2 T tahini
3 cloves garlic, crushed
salt
2-3 tablespoons olive oil

blend it all up in the blender and then use the liquid from the chickpeas to thin it out as much as you want. you can always add extra olive oil to help the consistency along but i try not to use too much. not sure if tahini is hard to find, i am lucky to have mideast stores nearby. you can def make hummus without it but i do love the stuff. also you can dr up your hummus any way you like -- roasted eggplant or roasted red peppers, olives, cayenne, etc.

anne, what songs are you dancng to for the recital?

angie, anytime i have done a roast in the crockpot, i brown it very well on the stove first. that seems to be the ticket.

clintonya, sorry for all that snow. is your cul-de-sac a private way that you have to plow yourself or does the city plow for you?

klaudia, i *heart* dove choc and never ever ever buy it for that reason, lol! never got into lost even tho i know i woud like it. i worked too much when it first started and now everyone says i would have to start at the beginning and i dont have time!

colleen, as always your menu looks fab! sorry for the shoveling, that is a serious workout sometimes.

dr becky, those vibram 5-fingers sound and look so cool but i think my knees would not be havin'em for cardio for sure. maybe for yoga and just around the house. my feet and legs start to ache when i stand barefoot cooking in the kitchen for an extended time so im just not sure...

robin, is that 2 snow days in a row?? you must have gotten some storm! waffles sound good to me =) to you make from scratch? whole wheat or no? i don't have a waffle iron and its prob just as well, lol.

katie, how was hiit? i think sometimes the stress of TTC is hard on our bodies. and i agree with kate, your baby will come when the time is right... sometimes it doesnt even *seem* like the right time (and don't i know), but really, it is. take it easy on yourself.

Happy Tuesday all!

Angie - Hope you're feeling better. Wow, that's a lot of studying.

Katie - ((HUGS)) to you!! TTC is a very emotional and trying time. It took us over a year to get pg with P and I was on an up and down rollercoaster. I temped and tracked my ovulation and made sure we BD'ed at the "right" times, but then to have a result in no pg was really hard. Hang in there. Hope your midwife can figure out what's going on.

Nina - No hummus recipes, but I love hummus. Do you make yours from scratch? Did you try searching online? I like the greek type hummus with the olives, but don't know how to make it.

Kate - I need to stretch way more. WTG with getting your wos in! You're made to give birth, lol! Go for it! Lucky you with no periods yet. I am back on a 28-day cycle. Boo!!!

Wendy - What is tahini and where do you get it? I guess I could google it, lol. Good luck with the driving lessons!

Colleen - Allergies are the pits! I am severely allergic to certain grass and pollen. Hate it when it's windy.

Klaudia - I wouldn't say Lucky Charms and Dove chocolate are the worst things to eat. I had McDonalds last night. I can't even remember the last time I ate there, but talk about gross! They had this major Lost premiere here the other night.

Robin - Yay for doms!!!

Hi Clintoya, Anne, Becky and Becky!

Okay, back on track today. I ate at McDonalds last night because I forgot we had an appt. with our financial advisor and was so unprepared. I had enough time to pack P's dinner and none for us so we went to the drive-thru. I can't remember the last time I even ate McDonalds. I had a hamburger and some fries. We figured we hardly go so we did it. Back on track today. I had Kashi cereal for bfast and half a slice of multi-grain toast. I need to get to the store today. It is raining like mad here and the weather is dreadful. Working from home as well. Veggie wrap for lunch with avocados and veggies. Not sure for dinner. Our stove blew out again so no stove until the Sears guy comes tomorrow. I did Hiit Pyramid and loved it! I think that one is my fave out of all the Hiits. Anyway, be back.
