Good Morning!

Today I did the Push Circuit 3 from CLX..wow my legs are fried! This is basically a leg/shoulder workout, where she mostly does leg work while doing shoulder stuff. You really have to use your core to balance.

The weather is gorgeous here today, it's only 30 or so right now but is supposed to go up into the 50's. I hope this is spring finally here!

Garance, where did you go to dinner? DH and I went to our favorite BBQ place after seeing "Hot & Cole", which was a rendition of Cole Porter tunes.

Linny, Joan, Josie, hope your weekend is going well...

Good morning everyone,

Dil will be fine. She recognizes baby was not developing properly but of course she is disappointed. The first day was the worst because both dil and ds were wondering what they had done to cause this. They have vey good doctor who made sure they understood nothing they did or didn't do caused this.

Sun is shining here also. I am sending dh out to rake and fertilize the grass. I had better get back to work.

I will check in later with wo.

Joan

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did disk 10 with stability ball abs (14 1/2 min.). I could not finish the abs because my wrists were so sore from all the pushups and the final set of exercises you are up on the ball with wrists down, bringing knees in, etc. This--10--is a great disk for shoulders and bis--and chest, too, but I get tired of all the pushups.

It is gorgeous here, too, today. It is now 51 degrees and the sun is shining gloriously. DH says not to get too cocky, because he keeps records and there is always one more nasty snow coming after March 15. We went to a Thai restaurant and I had sushi, which I luuuuve! I'm making a stir-fried beef dish tonight with some pork dumplings, so definitely Chinese tonight. We will have that for two nights, then corned beef for St. Patty's with a chive cream sauce and roasted parsnips and carrots on the side--2 more nights. Then lasagna--the easy pesto lasagna at epicurious.com--to finish the week. I am making an extra lasagna for my friend who is going in for knee replacement on Tuesday. Chinese--Irish--Italian. Interesting mix.

I've been looking at some of the Clarks shoes again. Some of the heels are so cute--but 100 dollars a pair, which seems a little pricey. Everything just seems to be going up and up. Can't decide whether to splurge.

We did have a barbecue place here for a few years, but the owner retired. Nothing new to take its place.

That's good news about your dil, Joan, and it sounds like the doctor is supportive, which is so important.

I'm starting a new chapter today, so back to work for me.

Monday Madness!

Good Morning!

I did a 35 minue I-Tread this morning. I have a goal of trying to drink more water, so yesterday I drank 72 oz, and proceeded to have to get up 3 times last night, wow, that kills me. Anyway, I am hoping it gets better. I see people drinking a gallon of water a day, how do they
do it?. I am also trying to clean up my eating, did well yesterday.

Joan, I am so glad that DS and DIL are doing ok. I don't remember if they have other children?

Garance, I hope your DH is wrong this year about the snow after March 15th, but I am sure he is probably right. I remember some really nasty ice storms in March. Wow you have your whole week's menus done, that is great planning! They sound delicious too!:p.. Which Clark's are you looking at? over at Zappos?. I found that it is hard to find any that are under $100 anymore..:(

Josie, I hope you had a good weekend.

Linny, how are you doing? iAre you getting your BP checked out this week?

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies,

I had a nice weekend. I left work at noon on Friday and went and got my hair cut and a minicure and pedicure. I felt human again after that. I ended up walking on the beach by myself on Saturday and I went to the casino on Sunday. I don't consider that a workout, but it was fun.

I will be doing some cardio today. I don't know what kind yet, but I will try to put in an hour of it.

Joan, I'm glad that you dil is doing well and that they have a good doctor.

Linny, Where are you?

Garance, another chapter! You are a fast writer. My DD is like that, she loves to write.

Deb, What is CLX?

Josie

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did 5 miles with Leslie (63 min.).

Deb, I am looking at Clarks Indigo Flash in a caramel brown color, and Ridgefield in a red color. I currently have both in my shopping cart, and if I don't order them soon, the decision will be taken out of my hands, because they are warning me that only 1 is left in Ridgefield and 3 in Flash. I am tempted to go with Flash because they have good reviews on comfort. Ridgefield doesn't have any reviews. I really like both! Sounds like you are trying to get back on track with your eating. Good for you! When are you going to Mexico??

Josie, since January, I have written two articles and one chapter--about 75 pages total. The nice thing about one of the articles is that it is the basis for half of a chapter.

Yep--I do my menus on Saturday and go shopping on Sunday. I ask DH what he wants to use up in the freezer and if he has any ideas. He wanted the beef stir fry and the corned beef.

Hi to Linny and Joan!

Hi Ladies:
Busy weekend, looking at granite for countertops in kitchen.Pretty sure about Blue Pearl granite.Has chips of baby blue mica that shine in the light.Cabinets to be cherry, not sure on floor yet.
Deb:I know what your saying about the water.I try to drink more but then I worry about making it to the bathroom in time.Tonite a girl at work brought in a gallon jug and said she drinks the whole thing within her shift.I asked if she is in the bathroom all night too.I think I'm going to start going to weightwatchers,I'm having a hard time with this weight loss.
Garance:I'll have to check out Zappos.I'm in the market for some new shoes. At least that's one thing that hasn't got bigger on me. The weather is supposed to be beautiful wednesday, high 50's low 60's.:D Tonite was swordfish kabobs on grill, tomorrow corn beef.
Josie:Sounds like you had a nice pamper day for yourself friday, good for you. What kind of cardio did you end up doing today?
JoanC:So sorry about DIL's miscarriage. This is Eliot's mother right? Did you get a workout in?
Have a great night~Linny~

It's a Hoppin' Tuesday!

Good Morning all!

I did CLX Burn Circuit 2 this morning, and I am spent! I am down 1 and 3/4 pounds from last Tuesday, but I am pretty sure it is just water since I have been spending a lot of time in the bathroom.

Josie, it is always nice to take Friday afternoon off, especially if you are going to pamper yourself! Good for you for doing that! CLX is Beachbody's new series "Chalean's Extreme" workouts. It is a series almost like STS, although the workouts are only 35 minutes long. There are 3 workouts in each series, Burn, Push, and Lean, and you do each series for 4 weeks. In between you do cardio, just like the STS set up.

Garance, I will be heading over to zappos to check out those shoes when I sign off! Love love Clark's!. Yes, I had 2 good eating days so far, actually had Mahi Mahi last night with squash, brocoli and a small salad. Then almonds for snack. We leave for Mexico 3/27, back on 4/3. I think being organized with cooking and shopping for food helps with not eating bad things. I find that when we have no idea of what we are going ttom make etc, we eat all the wrong things. But I am not as organized as you are!

Linny, your kitchen sounds like it will be beautiful, make sure you put pics up at picturetrail! The countertop you mention sounds like mine, however ours is not granite, it is that solid surface one..it is grey, with like a mica look with blue dots..We got a ceramic tile floor, If I had to do it again, I may go with laminate, or something easier to clean. The grout does not look good anymore, no matter what you do to clean it.

Saying Hi to Joan, almost done with those returns I hope!:D

Have a great day!

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did disk 11 (53 min.).

Does anyone have any hints on getting DVD disks loose? I find the ones in the STS particularly difficult to pop out. I keep ruining my fingernails pressing down on the center.

Well, I decided to buy Ridgefield, but I changed the color to gray. I just think they looked a bit sleeker than Flash. I have a Boden dress in marled gray (double layer jersey) that will look really good with these, so I sure hope they are comfortable. When spring comes I always get the urge to buy something to combat the months of sweaters and bulky layers. I am wearing a dress today and my Clarks Apple Janes in red suede. They are very comfortable with such a low heel.

When we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago, we decided on soapstone counters over granite. The soapstone we found was incredible--a lot of deep green veins to it. I like the fact that you can plop hot pans on it with impunity. But the granite you found, Linny, sounds beautiful. And I really love my laminate floor. Most people think it looks like tiles anyway, and you are right Deb, it is easier to clean than tiles. I think the grout now, though, is made out of something else and you don't have to worry about it getting stained and yucky. But I know what you mean. We have grout in our laundry room that drives me crazy every time I look at it.

It feels like spring here today--55 and going up, maybe, to 60.

I watched the first half of DWTS last night, but had to watch 24, which is super exciting this year. I think the villain is the president's daughter.

Hi Ladies:
Happy St.Patricks Day! Busy night tonite had my DS and his girlfriend over for corn beef dinner. For dessert I made a green frosted chocolate cake.I stuffed:rolleyes:I agree Deb and Garance about the ease of cleaning laminate. But my DH is a general contractor and he wouldn't feel right not putting in a tile floor in kitchen. He likes doing all that work that goes into a tile floor,he wants to put little diamond shaped tiles in the corners of the tiles.I'm going to try and take pictures this weekend and post them on picturetrail this weekend. You'll have to check them out. Congrats on the weight loss,Deb!!!

Good evening everyone,

I got 2 1/4 miles on treadmill today.

I have 311 returns in with 280 done. Nine appointments tomorow.

Ds and dil are parents of Elliot.

I did new countertops last year with manmade in navy. I liked granite but with yellow kitchen with white cabinets I thought navy looked best. I hate my tile floors. My mother can't hold like she used to and drops everything on floor. Anything breakable breaks and has scatched the tile. I don't cook for any length of time usually, but for holidays when I'm on my feet for a long time my legs really ache standing on the hard tile.

Deb :DYea for weight loss:D

Joan

It's Wednesday!

Good Morning!

I just finishes an I-Tread, whew! Right afterwards I let Keegan out and he was chasing a bunny in the yard, around and around, screetching the whole time ( Keegan, not the bunny), until the poor thing finally was able to go under the gate to get out..I don't know what I would have done if he caught it!

Garancem, I know there was some instructions on how to get those disks out in the STS forum. Not sure how to find it now, maybe a search? The ones I used so far had not given me any trouble. Those shoes are really cute! I didn't watch DWTS yet from last night, so I don't know who was eliminated. I hope it was Steve W ( the apple guy). I think he was the worst one. I do like Gilles (?)...the one with Cheryl Burke, and I really like the rodeo guy, not his dancing so much, but him!..he is so nice! He did improve a lot from week one.

Linny, mmm...I should have gone to your house for dinner! Ask your husband if he has any contractor secrets on getting the kitchen tile grout back to it's original color!

Joan, Yes, those floors are a killer when you have to work in the kitchen a long time. On the day after Thanksgiving, DH and I are always groaning about how our legs hurt. I am not one for shoes in the house, ( I wear slippers all the time), so my feet hurt that day too! We keep saying we need to cook in sneakers, but we forget every year. Good job on all the returns. I can't believe you have 9 apts today!.

Hey, Speaking of yucky grout, anyone have a cleaning hint or magic cleaning product for grout around the edge of the bathtub? I can get the tiles ok, they are easy to clean, it's the edge of the tub that drives me crazy!

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies,

I walked last night for 90 minutes. I will be spinning tonight, I have been very busy at work. I had 3 meetings yesterday and did not get a chance to post. I have one today at 10:30.

I'm getting good tips from you ladies regarding kitchens. We plan to remodle our house in the near future and I want a bigger kitchet and a stove like yours Garance. I will asking a lot of questions once we get going on this project.

I will be taking my GS Michael to Knott's Berry Farm this weekend. He has been calling me and asking me if I will pick him up tomorrow. He can't wait.

Josie

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did Kelly C-M's double kickbox (53 min.).

Deb, I saw Martha Stewart this morning on the Today show. She recommended for showers a combination of baking soda, dishwashing liquid, and lemon juice and an old toothbrush on tough places. I think you might try vinegar. I use it a lot to remove scale (we have very hard well water). Well I did get my shoes yesterday, but I am sending them back. They felt a half size too small and too narrow. I don't know if I will exchange them, though, because I also did not like the color. I had to watch American Idol, so I don't know who was eliminated on DWTS either. I have it recorded, so maybe later. I love Gilles--so dashing! And yes, Cheryl Burke is one of my favorites.

Josie, on stoves, just stay away from Viking. I thought that was what I wanted, but I have a couple of friends who have nothing but trouble from them. I love my Thermador!

How wonderful to have a general contractor as DH, Linny! I really love the fact that my DH can fix anything and I never have to worry about changing the oil, brake pads and rotors, and when there's something he cannot fix, he at least knows what is wrong and the right person to do the job.

Hope the end is in sight for you, Joan!

Hi Ladies:
Late night at night tonite.Hopefully I can leave early tomorrow or friday to make up.
Deb:I asked DH about grout,he said they have special companies that come to house and stain grout lines back to original color then put a sealant over it.Not sure how much that would cost. I had weigh-in today and actually lost 1 1/2 pds,I was shocked. Its been so long since I've had a weight loss.I hope to start weightwatchers this week.
Garance:Yes it is nice to have a contractor for hubby, but he knows nothing about changing brakes and rotors. Can we trade husbands every 6 months?;)
Josie: Any tips my DH can give I'll be sure to post them.We actually putting down the stair treads this weekend and possibly knocking down wall in between dinningroom and kitchen.
JoanC:I never thought about feet hurting from standing on tile to long.Makes sense though,I think I'll try Deb's idea with cooking in sneakers.
Have a great night ladies~Linny~

Morning all,

Is it only Thursday?? No workout today...Bad night's sleep last night, I am really tired this morning!
I need some major coffee slugging to move today......DH went to a club meeting last night, got home around 10:00 all riled up, and he was not able to sleep well because of it. Of course he had to tell me about what went on for about 20 minutes, so I was wide awake at that point. Then Keegan got up at 1:40 to go out, that was fun...again wide awake for a while...sigh...some nights you are just not meant to sleep I guess.

Josie, have fun with your GS today!

Garance, I am shocked that Steve W stayed on DWTS! He is horrible. I don't think I like this new way of eliminating the dancers...I liked it better when the judges picked the best dance to see again...Who wants to see the 2 worst dances again?

Linny. WTG on the weight loss!

http://fitnessfig.mybb3.org/posting.php?mode=smilies&f=3#Thanks your DH for the info on the grout..I may call the company that put the floor in and see if they do this or know someone that does.

Hi to Joan...hope you are surviving all those appointments!

Have a great day!

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did disk 12 (54 min.). My legs and butt are fried! I continue to like the bonus floor work Cathe throws in on legs.

I really should vote on both American Idol and DWTS! I couldn't believe who was saved, who was eliminated on either of them. I wasn't all that sorry about seeing Belinda Carlisle go, but I agree with you, Deb, that she was definitely better than Steve. On the other hand, I was really sorry to see Alexis Grace leave American Idol. There are some real duds that apparently get a lot of votes for the wrong reasons. There's a legally blind fellow who is just blah! an oil rig worker who is Mr. Regular Guy jes' tryin' to find a better life for the wife and kiddies, a widower, ohh--and Mr. Creepy who sang Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire with a sitar. Scared poor Randy Travis with his black-painted fingernails.

Well, enough ranting. Sorry about no sleep, Deb. What was DH all riled up about?? Is Keegan over-excited about possible bunnies??

Sounds like a good plan to me, Linny. Probably would make a good reality TV show. Not sure the cows would be as pleased, though, losing their caretaker. Congrats on the weight loss! I take it you did not eat any of your cake.

Hi to Joan and Josie!

Good afternoon Garance, Deb, Linny and Josie,

Deb I use Mr Clean's Magic eraser. It probably won't work if grout is deep stained but I use it alot.

I did sts disc 8 Wednesday but didn't have time to post.

Today is supposed to be work day and clients are supposed to leave me alone. I have had 14 phone calls and 9 people drop off their return. Not much getting accomplished, but I did take cat to vet.

Dil has spring break this week. I think week with Elliot will be good for her.

It's been in the 70's all week. Dh turned on pool heater and it is 78 degrees now. (not quite warm enough for me)

Back to work.

Joan

TGIF!!!

Good Morning!

No workout again...I needed to sleep in. Sunday will start another week, and then when we are in Mexico, I hopefully will use the treadmill. Last year I was on it every day, we'll see.

Garance, you are doing so well with STS. Have you seen any results? clothes fitting better, weight loss? I know that when you first start using a lot of weight, it seems like you gain instead of losing, but usually the first good sign is that your clothes are loose. DH gets riled about some of the members and their hair-brained ideas. He is the treasurer and the "keeper" of the funds. If it wasn't for him they would be broke! Keegan is excited about the possibility of another bunny in the yard. I swear he must have doggie dreams about the big chase, then he wakes up and has to go out there to see if there is one in the yard. He did it again last night around 3:00, but DH took him right away and I didn't even hear them get up. That's how tired I must be.

Jaon, thanks for the tip! I do have about a dozen of those as I bought them in bulk on Ebay. Not sure why I didn't think to try one! Wow going in a 78 degree pool would be lovely right now...Hey! I'll be doing that a week from now! When tax season is over you will not know what to do with yourself! :D

Hi to Linny & Josie, hope you have a great weekend planned.

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did AOS Providence (50 min.).

Deb, I really haven't seen any changes since I started STS. Maybe when I move into mesocycle 2? I have one more week of mesocycle 1, and then I plan to start mesocycle 2 and change my aerobics a bit for the next 8 weeks.

It's back to winter temps again, but the sun is out and the snow is all melted. This is the last day before spring break. The campus will be quiet for the next two weeks with no students. Some academic press representatives are coming to campus on Monday, so I am putting together my prospectus for the book and hope to get some positive responses. I wonder how hard, though, the presses have been hit by this recession.

I like those magic erasers, too, but at least on the floor grout, it would take hours and hours on my hands and knees and I would probably shred 100 of them in the process.

I'm going to try to see Duplicity this weekend. It sounds really good. DH is still enjoying past seasons of Deadliest Catch.

Have a great weekend ladies!
