Good Morning Peeps,

My DH is out shopping!!! He never learns. I try to tell him every year that it's soooooo much easier to do it as you go along but he never listens.

I was up at 4:30 so I thought " Heck, I should probably try a w/o. I did Imax 2 and it was quite hard. Only because I am very tired and have the boogie nose thing. (Well Imax 2 is HARD anyway) It's cold here today, but getting rain tomorrow instead of snow. Bummer.

Jill- It takes awhile to learn everything about everyone so don't fret about the personals. Everyone here is laid back and doesn't require a personal response to everything. Some times I get behind and don't catch up, so I just start over. That's you on page 10. Woo Hoo!!! How cool is that???

Dani- how was the party??? I hope you had a great time after the yucky week you had!!! Were you the one with the lampshade by any chance????

JJ- ICE ICE ICE your shoulder and REST it too. Rotator cuffs are tough. That's one surgery that I would not want to have. I hope your weather isn't too awful this weekend. I get kinda freaked out being snowed in. Hope you are finished your shopping.

Heather- hope you are feeling better!!!
Jerry= we will down your way for a few days in the next week. You and DW come over and visit!!! We could have some fun. BTW, I have never been to the Lobster House!!!

Gayle- I hope you and family are coming in January!!!??? Funny how we live so close and yesterday we had a Noah's Ark type flood and you got iced in!!!! Hope you enjoyed your day off. Wait until you see the pigs new costumes!!! And so far I am winning the Pig races.

Wendy- I LOVE your daughter's name. I like Houdini too because it seems to fit her personality but her given name is lovely. Now I forget what else I was going to say!!! I think Imax 2 wore out my brain as well as my body!!!

Vilma- Missing you, I need my water motivation. Come back soon.

Hi to all PEEPS who follow. I'll BBL

Good morning!

Ellie...Do you have my phone number, either cell or home, I had PM'd you a while back with them..give me a call, DW and I would love to hook up if possible!

The Lobster House, in my opinion, is best visited either now (holidays) or for lunch in the summer months, dinner is crazy busy, and they don't take reservations. Their menu has never changed over the years, it's consistently good...my very favorite thing is/are the Clams Casino...I could just keep ordering them by the dozen and make a meal out of them. Diane likes the Baked Stuffed Flounder.

I'm going to suggest a Tri-Stater luncheon at the LH deck this summer when we can sit on the outside dock, that's the best way to enjoy the place.

Workout wise, I am still on my Boot Camp rotation, will be until the 2nd week in January, so I have that planned for later. I am absolutely loving circuit training, simply because I am such a cardio junkie...it's funny the varying opinions about cardio, some feel you don't need as much. I do it because of the endorphin high more than anything else. If I ever had to choose between weights and cardio, it would be a no-brainer, but I enjoy both, so I don't have to choose, luckily!

Catch you all later today!

Guten Morgen, Peeps!

OK, so I was foiled this morning--my DVD player is NOT working!!!!!!!!! (Insert panic attack here.) I'll have to have DH look at it or hook up our alternate one in the living room, because I HAVE TO HAVE MY FITNESS DVDS!!!!!!!!!!!! And I was really all set to do SuperSets so I was seriously annoyed....

BUT we still have the VHS player hooked up, and believe it or not, I still have some workouts on DVD, so I did Kari Anderson's Tone it Up with the resistance band. Nice little workout, and it was nice to so something completely different.

Today we are supposed to hit a high of 66, then start to crash down around 5PM, with a HIGH of 34 tomorrow.

Ellie--I will be out with your husband today! I'm meeting a girlfriend for lunch (at Neiman Marcus, dah-lings, how lovely!) and Houdini is going with me (as we all know she loves fine food, ha!) then I have some gifts to buy for my sisters. I have a fantastic Origins coupon ($10 off!) so somebody is getting something from there, LOL...

Jerry--I'm starting to get into circuit training, too. I like the fact that it burns mega calories! My Low Impact Circuit is shipping this week, I cannot WAIT to try it out!! But I plan to do a serious rotation starting January 1 using all my circuit DVDs...

To all the Peeps in the weather: BE CAREFUL today and stay toasty!!

:) Wendy

Hey gang! I'm barging in here to say hello! I'd love to join your check in, but I'll probably be sporadic about it.I'm doing a short cardio today - not sure what yet - a step wo for sure.

Ellie, I hope you are feeling better? I think guys are hardwired to shop that way. Jerry - input? My DH and DS are both last minute folk. Now, thinking about it - maybe it's just a genetic thing!

Jerry, I can SO picture us sitting outside on a nice warm deck! Heavy on the warm!

Wendy, I know exactly the panic you are feeling! Maybe a new one is coming your way soon.;) Your shopping trip sounds fab! Um,who is Houdini? I could do search, but it's easier to ask.

Happy Saturday Peeps:

The snow is coming down and supposed to go all weekend. It is so pretty but such a bugger to drive in. I'm taking Cooper (my dog) to the groomers then to the store to find some doggie boots so we can resume our walks without frozen paws. Later, we are going to DH's grandma's to celebrate Christmas early. No workout today....still resting & icing my shoulder:(

Ellie~ I can't imagine doing Imax2 when not feeling well. It is hard enough when I'm healthy:confused: High fives to you!

Jerry~ Have fun with your bootcamp W/O.

Wendy~ Oh NO! Bummer about your dvd player! I hope DH can fix it.

Phyllis~ You can barge in anytime! The more the merrier:) FYI..Houdini is the nickname for Wendy's adorable daughter. I think she got that name because she kept escaping from her crib. Wendy....Correct me if I'm wrong.

Waves to all the peepers who follow.

JJ

hi Peeps!

Well, I had a wonderful time last night... after a long, hard week it was nice to take some R&R and laugh a little(Ok, laughed a LOT), have a FEW drinks, some greasy bar food and relax! we ended up having about 15 people from work (and a few SO's showed up even)... Plumber showed up FINALLY, but he was gracious enough to leave the "crack" well covered! LOL! Lots of gunk was snaked out and sink drains like a charm! He gave us some super high-powered drain cleaner stuff as a "treatment" for flushing out the pipes. "THE PIPES ARE CLEAN!!!"

Have to take Missy Lou (furbaby avatar) to the vet today for a booster nose squirt... and the dreaded bootscoot cure-all. Won't go into detail, but I will be bringing lots of wipes before she is allowed back in the truck... and then on to some errands!

Ellie: Hope you are starting to feel better... I SO don't want you to be sick again like you just got over! What an ordeal! Get to the Doc NOW instead of waiting! I will not recommend the whiskey at the moment so, you are on your own this time! LOL I will be joining your DH, Wendy, and about a million other people at the stores today! and DH will be on his own, apparently doing the same mad dash. We talked about doing NOTHING for eachother. Last year, I got a really cool Lay-z-boy chaisse lounge chair (talk about expensive!) and he got a few things that we don't even remember now, so this year was his turn for the big wham wham item! He found an Amp for his guitars and it was in really great condition (for it's age) and so I told him to get it... See how easy that was! But now he says he's going out today, so now I have to get at least SOMETHING.... Not that we have the tree up or any decorations... NONE! I didn't anticipate shopping at all, so I threw out all my discount coupons and everything! BUMMER! So, I also need to find something to wear to another work party... Not MY work party, but a private party with some of the people I used to work with, although my WORK party is actually tonite too... we are bagging that one... hopefully next years party debate will be much more civil... OMG! House is MY favorite show right now too! The first episode I saw I was completely turned OFF for this show and his character, but after a few weeks and nothing else to take it's place on TV, I tried it again, and LOVED it! watch whatever rerun they are showing on USA and DVR the new ones on Fox, as they come on just after I have taken my sleepytime pills! I am usually asleep by the 30 minute mark commercials! Now I have a Peep that I can get updates from!

Jerry: I probably won't be joining you in a workout today, but I just got BootCamp awhile back and have only done it once... I'll try to pull it out tomorrow and see how far I can get.... Never been to Lobster House either, but LOVE me some King Crab! DH used to get it fresh from a distributor when we were in Alaska... if seafood could be sweet, this was the best sugar around! OMG! did we eat! He would buy a 20# box in November when he would get home from the logde for the summer and it would be gone by May... YUMMY!

Wendy: Sorry for your VCR troubles! That's really frustrating when they just stop working! We have backup's for the backup's just in case! I got one for $10 when we bought our furniture from RC Willey this past summer, so have that to fall back on if either of the other two decided to be tempermental! Hope you and/or DH are able to get it fixed! :) Houdini is nothing short of exceptional! :) You are very lucky! Did you order a video? Sounds like you decided on LIC? let me know how you like it!

Karin: how funny your weather is! the MRI results should be ready early next week and rescheduled the Dr. appt for wednesday... It had originally been scheduled for the end of January, but hell, I don't want to wait that long to get the results and start some sort of treatment! My knees (with all the cold, wet weather) have absolutely been killing me lately... Hope our shopping excursion was a success! You don't have to transport all that stuff with you to NJ/NY do you? Congrats! on the possible publishing! We will have another famous Peep! NO apple-tini's for me last night... stuck to fuzzy navels (and you know casino drinks are SO diluted) so it was really only about 1 "real" drink in about 5 hours... but we still had a lot of fun!

Heather: Take care of yourself and keep us posted on what the Dr. says! You have been working so hard to avoid all your allergies, so keep up your dilligence and hopefully the Dr. will have some more suggestions on what might be causing your additional symptons... Hang in there kiddo!

Gayle: so glad you are being pulled in by the Peep-ter Beam! It is a really fun group and we would be Honored and thoroughly enjoy your contributions to the Peep-dom! Sorry you had to cancel Bunko night! I had a friend that would do that once a month as well, but I have NO idea of what the game is or how it's played, but sounds like a fun gathering! I'll have to google it... the gals in the office are trying to figure out something to do as a group every month, and I think I would DIE if we ended up doing a cookie exchange or Potluck every month! something to consider! Hope your weather clears enough that you are not stranded! Be safe if you venture out!

Jill: Please don't worry or stress about getting bogged down in personals at first... I still have to go back (opening several windows so I can toggle back and forth between yesterdays posts and previous pages when I get stuck being the last poster some days!) So, we are learning about you as you are learning about all of us... Our benefit is that there is only ONE of you! Just keep joining in the fun, share your days and thoughts, and eventually you will learn WAY more than you will ever want to know! :) From time to time, we all get short on time and pop in just to say HI...

Vilma: You have been MIA for a bit, hope everything is going OK for you and everything is just busy. Take care of yourself, be safe and hope you are back able to check in with us soon!

Maybe we can all do a circuit workout after the first... for the few days/weeks between Jan 1 and when STS arrives... I don't have all of Cathe's DVD's, but sure could come up with enough to do a few weeks...

Will check back later, as I'm sure that in the hour it has taken me to post this, that there have been more additions to todays thread!

Happy Saturday!

See! What'd I tell ya!

Hi to Phyllis! Don't be a stranger! Barge in EVERY day! :) but we are not greedy and will take what you can offer of your time!

Hi to any more Peeps to follow!

Thanks for the welcome peeps!

I'm glad Houdini is a nickname. I wasn't sure if that was the childs real name.

So, I did LM intervals 1-4 and I'm ready to start tackling the rest of the day!

Hi peeps! I am so excited that I am done work until the new year. It was so cool leaving yesterday and saying “see you next year”. Of course that was a squashed by my bus not showing up and having to wait out in the cold for another 45 min until the next bus came.

I got home very late last night and just couldn’t muster up the energy to go shopping. So, I got up early and was at Ulta by 8 am. Thankfully Old Navy and the Eddie Bauer Outlet were open too. So, I was back home by 10 am and didn’t run into any crowds or traffic.

The reason that I had to go to ON and EB was to try to find a black sweater. When I am home at my parent’s house my mom scheduled a family portrait  and wants everyone to wear white, red, or black . I have a red sweater, but it is kind of ratty. I don't have any white shirts because they would end up with stains on them and I have no black sweaters. I thought finding something black would be easy but it wasn't. I finally found something a little nicer than my old red sweater and bought that.

Can you tell I am really excited about this family portrait? It's a nice idea, but we have to go to one of those kiddie places in the mall during Christmas and have it taken. I might need a shot of Jack Daniels before I go :p

Ellie - DHs will never learn and will always wait until the last minute :D. You are awesome, which we knew already, for getting through Imax 2 while sick. You go girl!

Jerry - I love circuits too. I did a rotation for two months that had 2 days of cardio, 2 circuits, and one full body. It worked wonders for my body and I think I need to go back to it.

Wendy - sorry about your DVD player. I hope santa brings you a new one. Have fun at your lunch today and shopping at Origins. I love Origins.

Phyllis - welcome to the check-in. I love doing that LM 1-4 premix. It's a great workout and not as long as regular LM. Sometimes I just can't do a 70 min cardio w/o.

JJ - I hope your shoulder gets better soon and that running your errands goes smoothly. Have fun at your Christmas celebration tonight.

Dani - I'm so glad that you had fun last night. It really is interesting to hang out with co-workers during off hours and really get to know them. I am glad that you are getting your MRI results sooner than the end of January. Let us know what the diagnosis is. As far as shopping, I just went to Ulta to get my mom and SIL a little gift and it won't take up much room. The other shopping was for a freakin' sweater for a family picture (see above for details).

Hi to all other peeps that stop by today.

OK, lunch was a disaster. Houdini was NOT amused by eating with the ladies who lunch, dah-lings, and here's a little bullet list of what occured in the Neiman Marucs restaurant:

*Took the napkin rings (they put silver butterfly napkin rings on your napkins) and tossed them on the floor.
*Dumped her container of animal crackers on the floor
*Cried to get out of the highchair, and when I put her in my lap, she kicked and got down and RAN through the restaurant...when I got her, she THREW HERSELF ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF A FAMILY EATING LUNCH AND SCREAMED HER RED HEAD OFF
*I took her outside for a firm "This is NOT how we behave chat," and she laughed at me
*She tossed the sugar holder on the floor (notice a theme with this?) and a waitress slipped on one of the packets I didn't see when I was cleaning them up
*Decided her french fries looked better in her lap and dumped them there...

I could go on but you get the point. She was fine once we started shopping and had a good time in the play area...and now is down for a very long nap.

I scored some deals at Origins--I got one sister this super-cute individual tea pot ($10) and box of gourmet tea bags ($12) and they wrapped it for me, too. As in put it in a nice green box, cushioned it with nice shredded paper, and tied it with a bow. I got my other sister an Andrew Weil 8 Weeks to Optimum Health DVD (only $14 in the sale bin) and Lavendar-Vanilla Travel candles and they wrapped that, too. I got a candle for the house (a nice spice scent) and then Houdini picked up a back massager in a bin and CHEWED ON IT so I obviously had to buy that, too. Well, I had another coupon for 25 percent off your entire order so I used that and I qualified for a free, full-sized body lotion! I felt I really got my money's worth there today!

Oh! And DH left the family gift in his backseat so I saw it when I got home, but it's a 42 inch HD TV!!!!!!!! Whooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo is doing Cathe on that going to be awesome or what? It will be like taking a class!!

And I did go with High Step Challenge for my x-mas gift from DH. I really like High Step Training, and I tend to have the same taste as Karin, so I figured it would be fun for our "Peep Circuiting in January" that several of us are doing to do. I am going to get Body Max 2 next, however, when I get paid next.

Karin--You might want to double that shot amount if you are going to the kiddie studio at the mall...LOL! :)

Phyllis--Welcome to the land of Peeps! Yes, Houdini is a nickname, because as JJ explained, she mastered jumping out of her crib at oh, 22 months old...She was like Houdini--one minute there, the next minute running down the hallway...But I have pictures of her on my page if you want to see what she looks like! :) But pop in whenever you like, we have people here daily to inspire, encourage, and help you hold on by your fingernails to the fitness wagon during this "I want to jump off!" time of year.

Jill--Just keep jumping in! No need to greet everyone every time if that's overwhelming. As Dani said, soon you'll get a handle on who is who and what they like to do, pet peeves, etc. And I still have to take a notepad out and jot notes to do personals!!

Dani--You sound MUCH better today! I'm so glad to see you in such good spirits. Do tell, what goodies did you find shopping today????

JJ--You are a WISE woman to ice/rest that shoulder. Cathe will be waiting for you when you get back, ha ha! Hope you found some toasty dog booties for your furry friend today!

:) Wendy

I just got back from more shopping and I went to two totally cool stores. The first is

http://www.beadforlife.org/studio.html

I got my SILs and MIL a necklace and bracelet each. This is an awesome organization that helps impoverished women in Uganda. They are free trade products too so you feel good supporting the cause.

The other place is

http://elliesecohomestore.com/

Here I got a Sigg bottle for my SIL and a really cool purse made out of recycled paper products (sounds tacky, but very cool) and pot holders. They sell a bunch of environmentally friendly stuff here and it's another place you feel really good about supporting.

I am psyched about these places!!!

We also went to this store that's a hardware store/home store/clothing store place and guess who I saw?? Cathe!!! They had some of her fitness products there, but not the weighted vest which is what I am really interested in. Actually DH saw her face on the box and pointed it out to me. Sometimes I think he doesn't pay attention, but I should give him more credit

Wendy - sorry lunch was a bit of a disaster, but I am glad to hear that shopping went well. Was it busy where you were shopping? I wasn't at a mall, but it really wasn't too bad where I went. I hope you love HSC! Did I mention that I do :p?

I spent all afternoon returning most of the crap that my husband bought this morning. Aaaaaargh!!!! I was already finished the boys but he thought he'd pick up a few things!!! He was really trying to be helpful but some of the things he bought...... Deal or No deal for my 5 yr old. Uh, I don't think so. Not into promoting gambling or betting!!!! So that went back. Also took back the gigantic spring-loaded light saber from Star Wars. yeah I need 2 small boys running around impaling each other with these. There's more but it took me sooooooo long to go thru all that stuff and get out of the mall parking lot......I'm going to bed!!!!!!
