Affirm

Cathlete
I started my morning with the cardio portion of Body Max.

Welcome to the check in Briee. We are a small group who have been trying to hold each other accountable since January. We have good weeks and bad weeks, but we hang in there for each other and offer encouragement.

Congrats on the weightloss Rose. You are beating the stubborness out of those last few pounds!!!

My family is excited about getting our retriever. He was born last week and we should bring him home in late June. I have been so busy lately with the kids after school activties. I think I forgot to post that my job interview went well. I am changing jobs for next school year. I will be closer to home. I am so excited about that because instead of having a one hour commute to work, I can save that time for exercing now and not have to get up at 4 AM to get my workout in. :) :)

Hey Affirm, it's good to hear from ya!! I know you have been very busy. Sounds like you've got lots of exciting things going on. New puppy and new job. How great for you to be closer to home. I know how that is. For 20 years I had commuted to work 45 min to 1 hour. Now for the last 2 years I have worked in my home town. It is so nice and yes it does make exercising a bit easier.

I love the BM cardio and do it and LIC cardio frequently.

Rose, your music fest sounds like fun and Bon Jovi- WOW that's great. You sound like you are working hard!!

Briee, glad to see your gonna join us!! I can pick on you in two checkins now!!!

Today I have done IMAX2 and plan abs and some pullups later hopefully if I don't get too lazy :)

Have a great day

I'm glad you're back Affirm.

Catherine, did you cheat on your diet? I'm curious.

Briee said she was considering joining our check-in. I hope she joins.

Today I did Step & int (cardio & chest --step on an 8" by the way --and what a difference. I think 6" is not challenging for me on most workouts anymore) + 10-10-10 (triceps & stretch). Workout was no more than an hour, but it was challenging enough and I still have some energy left. :) I'm still watching my diet, but yesterday I cheated and ate some trail mix just because (it wasn't a snack or anything just a craving that I should've ignored). I have to stay strong.

I hope you all have a great week.

I only use one riser on most workouts. I use 2 when doing Cardio and Weights, but it is not one of my favorite workouts, so I rarely do it. So, I guess one riser is 6 inches. All the IMAX's are killers so I couldn't imagine doing them on more than one riser. I am impressed with you Rose!

I increased the step height on all CTX cardios because my heart rate wasn't getting high at all. I wasn't even sweating and I sweat a lot when I do Cathe. So now I'm following Rhonda on CTX (she does all the step in 8"). Is not that bad (although I haven't tried All Step in an 8"; I probably stay with a 6" with that one). About 7 years ago or so I used to do the first IMax, Body Max, MIC, etc. in an 8" (Cathe used 8" back then too), but I was about 115-120lbs, younger, and more active in general. Right now I'm trying to get back where I used to be cardio-wise, but there are some workouts I'm 100% sure I'll never do on an 8" like IMax 3.

Today I probably won't be able to workout since I have tons of things I have to do and I'm going to work until late at night. My diet has been clean so far and I'm starting to see my clothes fitting looser. I started to cut a tiny amount of calories on Saturday and my body is starting to get out of its plateau. We'll see how long I can keep this up without cheating.

Rose WTG!!! Awesome job on clothes fitting looser!!

I got on my sisters scales on Sat and they weighed me at 10 pounds heavier than I usually  I am not that worried about it because I think her scales are WRONG!! Seriously, my clothes still fit so I guess it doesn't matter what I weigh. Although I do see a shift in my midsection that I do not like one bit. I really think it's my eating :( Or maybe it's been there all along and I am just now seeing it LOL!!

Yesterday I did upper body again and upped my weights on some exercises. I did 3-4 sets of 6-8 reps with heaviest I can go. Will need DH to start spotting me if I keep increasing my weight  I followed that up with KB with my weighted gloves. I forgot how much I enjoy this one. Trying to do upper body 2x per week and a heavy leg workout + some version B&G. And of course cardio.

Hey there everybody. Another rest day for me today. I'm preparing for a meeting tomorrow morning and I just got home from work to finish a lot of things I have pending for tomorrow. But tomorrow I'm doing PCircuit (cardio & back) + Kickbox (biceps) + PCircuit (abs & stretch) in the afternoon.

Catherine, wow I hate those scale moments. I weigh myself twice a week for that reason so I can avoid surprises. Some scales are definitely not accurate. I'm not sure if your sister's is accurate, but if you care about things like that then get a good scale so you can do regular weigh-ins at home. The scale I got is supposed to be pretty accurate and it also measures body fat %, and body water %. It has a normal mode and an athlete mode, and it also has a lifetime warranty. I spent about $50 for it, but that's cause I got it at Walmart. It's probably $20-$30 higher than that. Definitely one of the best fitness investments I've ever made. Not because I like to get obsessed with numbers, but because it helps me to adjust my diet and exercise regimen according to the numbers I get. If I see I'm losing (I still have a couple of more pounds to lose) then I keep doing what I'm doing, if I'm maintaining then I change my workout or eating habits to get out of plateaus and if I'm gaining well that means I have to kick it up a notch. You are definitely very strong so that can also be muscle mass. I learned the hard way that it's pretty much 80% diet and 20% exercise. I've done Cathe since the 90's and before Jan 10 06 I was definitely overweight (a lot!). It wasn't until I changed my diet 100% that I saw my clothes fitting looser. I've gone down many pant sizes after that. By the way I like the new pic you posted. Is that the new haircut? I think it looks cute. Wow I'd love to have hair I can cut short like that, but mine is curly and I have tons of it so I keep it long to control excess volume. Maybe one day I'll get gutsy and post a pic. I can't make any promises yet because I hate the way I look in pictures, but we'll see. :)

Hey Rose!! Yep, that's the new hair- thanks for the compliment. I like it and it's easy. I have very fine, thin straight hair so this style suits me. Of course I've always wanted thick curly hair LOL!!!

Thanks for the advise about the scale. I do think her scale is wrong. But I also know that I could be doing overall better with my eating. I also agree with the 80% 20% thing too.

I like the way you create your workouts by putting together sections from multiple workouts. I never think to do it that way. Hope your meeting goes well tomorrow!!

Affirm, I hope things aren't too crazy for ya!!

Fitfairy, have your sister throw away that scale!!! No way, you have been working out and eating well. No way you have gained 10 pounds. You may have gained some muscle though with those long and tough workouts you do.

I am doing better in the eating. No sweets so far this week. As I ease back into things, I am determined to eat better, especially since I am not able to work out as many days as I have been. I have about 5 weeks of school left and then I will be out for the summer and I know I will increase the exercise again. I worked out on Sunday this week and that has been it so far. I will have to see how it goes for the rest of the week.

I know I have not been doing that great lately, but please don't kick me out of the group:eek:

No way would we kick you out of the group Affirm. We might give you a kick in the hiney }( :+ Seriously, we all have our ups and downs. That's what we're here for to keep each other going when all seems utterly hopeless- well maybe not that bad LOL!! I bet you can not wait for summer break. I greatly admire teachers. What a tough job and not near the respect that is deserved. Glad to hear you are getting back on track with your eating. I've been good this week so far. It's on the weekends that I fall apart x( I'll just have to work on that a bit harder!!

Today was lower body and chinups day. I did S&H legs with chinups. Did a total of 19 chinups. I am still a lower body weanie. Did 40 pounds on squats and 30 on lunges. But I am really concentrating on good form with this one. Next time I'll up the wt 5#. This rotation seems to be working for me. I think I'll keep it up a few more weeks. Oh yeah, I did some ab work too- mustn't forget to count that. Tomorrow is rest ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!

My eating has been on target all week so far. I just need to not fall completely apart on the weeked.

Hope you all are doing ok!!

Hey ladies. Today I ate pretty much clean except for a piece of cake I had earlier. Yesterday I ate tons of crap unfortunately. I haven't done well with exercising either; I need to exercise more often. I normally exercise 5-6 days a week, but lately that has been impossible for me because I'm so darn busy. Surprisingly, I lost some weight and I think that has got to be the little changes I made on my diet recently because I haven't been able to exercise as usual. Well, I'll get back on track (again!) tomorrow.

OK Rose- you're back on track today right? Just checking :p

Confessions- went out to dinner last night. Delicious BTW. Was pretty good. Had salad and the mixed grill- shrimp and filet. Didn't eat all of the petite filet. But did eat all of the mashed potatoes x( They had an awesome chocolate dessert which I only took 3 bites of. I also had a couple of glasses of wine. My eating yesterday was otherwise clean.

Now today I've had dessert in FULL x( So I need to behave. Sunday is Mother's Day and we are going to a Brunch. So I know it won't be the cleanest.

I did upper body again today. Upped the wt on a few exercises. Bench was 55# 4sets of 6 reps, lat row 35# 3 sets of 8, millitary press 45# 3 sets of 8, rear delt flies 12# 3 sets of 8, triceps 14.5# 4 sets of 6 and conc curls 21.25 4 sets of 6. Will increase my bench to 60# next time except will have to have DH spot- can't hoist 60# up to bench--yet ;) This seems to be working to increase my strength. Don't know if it'll help with definition or not yet. Still need to to KB this evening and maybe abs.

Yep back on track today. Finally! My diet has been good and I exercised! Whoa I definitely won't take a rest this long ever again because I was having a little bit of trouble adjusting to cardio (after 10 mins or so I was back, but I'm normally okay since the beginning). Tomorrow I'm doing some legwork and abs. I hope you ladies have a great weekend and have fun on mother's day.

I am having a sweet tooth today. Lots of cravings x( Did give in and had a small amt of choc ice cream. Just a couple of tablespoons full- well maybe 3. But I am still craving sweets. Right now I want a pepsi!! I have downed two glasses of h2o trying to ward off the cravings. WTH!! Must resist.

Getting ready to have a salad for dinner and will do air popped popcorn for snack later. Hopefully without that pepsi LOL!!

Did B&G leg blast premix. Man this one never lets up does it?? I love it but hate it ya know. I guess lower body work is my least favorite. Doing it twice a week is quite a challenge. Will be interested to see if it makes any difference.

How are you lovely ladies doing.

Happy Mothers Day tomorrow!!!

Today I did LL(no abs) + AStep (shoulders, abs & stretch). I've been struggling with sweet cravings too. I agree wth, but I'm eating less sweets than what I used to eat. Tomorrow is mother's day, so Happy Mother's Day! I'm staying home so I hope I eat clean. :)
