Hey ladies. Well, today was a major cheat day and I just got home (I thought I was staying here, but that didn't happen). Anyway I'm tired and I have DOMS from yesterday's workout so I'm taking a rest day and I'll exercise tomorrow. I hope you had a great Mother's Day!

It's going to be a busy week for me so I'm going to try really hard to eat well because I won't have a lot of time to exercise.

I also had a bit of a cheat day. Not too bad though. Definately back on track tomorrow. I've got my lunch prepared already. Tuna on wheat and spinach salad with a little pesto :9 Does that sound healthy enough??

I did IMAX2 this morning and this evening did 4 sets of 2 pullups. Pullups are so much harder for me than chinups and I usually (lately) have only been able to do single sets. So doing 4 sets of 2 is an improvement- yippee for me!!!

Did pretty well today. Oatmeal for breakfast with a few walnuts and a kashi bar for snack in morn. Had my spinach salad with a little pesto fir lunch and a tuna sandwich. Oh and I did fudge with a Fazoli's bread stick (wish I hadn't) Afternoon snack was a protein bar. This evening I had a protein shake after my w/o. Not too bad.

Today I did upper body again. Trying to gradually increase wts. Bench was still at 55 pounds but 3 sets of 8 (was 4x6), DB lat row 40# 4 sets of 6 (was at 35# 3x8), millitary press 50# 5 sets of 5 reps (was 45# 3x8), skull crushers 15# 2 sets of 5 and 3 sets of 4 (was 14.5#), biceps were the same at 21.25 4 sets of 6 reps. I followed that up with KB and a stretch. I am definately seeing strength gains with this. Friday I will up my bench to 60 with DH's help ;)

Just finished 30 minutes of Cardio Fusion. Packed my lunch and snacks for the day (salad, grilled chicken and watermelon). I plan to have a good day...at least.
 
Still on track for the week with my eating. It's amazing how eating right makes you feel good. Huh, what's up with that LOL!!

Today I did BM2 cardioblast plus abs. I just love BM2 step routine.

Affirm, I still have great admiration for your early am workouts!! When does your school let out for the summer?

I get out in 4 weeks and I cannot wait. I love this time of the year, as I enjoy the fresh veggies and fruit of the summer months. One thing is funny though....I still get up early all summer even though I don't have to go to work. I just don't get up as early. I may still be exercising by 5:30 or 6:00. I like to make sure I am finished working out and have been able to enjoy some quiet time before one of the kids wake up. I will just have to see how it goes for this summer.


You are right, I feel great on the days that I eat well. It makes me feel lighter, whether I may be lighter or not!
 
Hi ladies. Wow I hate to say this, but after mother's day my diet has been awful. Mainly because I'm sleep deprived because of deadlines at work and finals at school (last final May 23rd just one more week to get this over with!) When I wake up I'm tired and craving all sorts of sugar loaded foods to give me some energy. I know it's a bad thing to do and I can exercise till the cows come home and I won't undo the damage to my diet. So today I'm starting clean. I'm still not sure if I do legwork or upper body work, but I will definitely exercise today.
 
Rose, repeat after me Carbs are evil, louder CARBS ARE EVIL!!! You know it's so hard after you start to lose it so to speak. Even just a little can turn into alot. At least for me. I hope you are getting back on track.

Today was no sweets for sure. But not the cleanest lunch. I had the "ultimate grilled cheese" YUMMY. It's grilled cheese with two kinds of cheese, bacon and tomatoe. Of course it was on wheat. I guess it could be worse, right??

I do hope things slow down for both you and Affirm soon.


Workout was S&H legs only plus chins. I did 45# squats (my chest is stronger than my legs :+) 35# lunges(should have done 40#) 40# plie squats and 22.5# calf raises. I did chins 5,4,4,3 for a total of 16. I really need to push myself on the legs. Seriously, I am benching 55 and squating 45???? That's messed up. I think we know what body parts I like to work and the ones I don't like to work :eek: :+ ;)

I just love my rest day!! I see people talking about having a hard time taking them and I am like WHAT?? I have a hard time not taking them LOL!!

My eating was fairly clean today. I had my usual oatmeal for breakfast, Kashi granoloa bar(no sugar) for am snack, lunch was chicken soft tacos without any sour cream etc, and protein bar for afternoon snack, and for dinner a big salad :9 Yummy!!

I am really tired today and I think I am seeing a trend. It seems as though after I do a heavy wt workout the next day I am almost exhausted. Does anyone else do this??

Today I did an awesome workout despite the fact that our heat index must have been around 100 degrees. Of course I had tons of water and my A/C was on. I did some light cardio, LL, and A.Step (shoulders). My diet has been better, but my mom brought me some mini brownies, cookies, and all sorts of sweets. She knows I'm on a diet so they were all minis. I'm seeing my best friend tomorrow and she's a negative zero, she eats anything and everything in sight, her toughest "workout" was one of those bellydancing tapes because she never exercises, and she never gains an ounce, so she's getting almost all the cookies and the brownies. :7 I took one mini brownie, cut it in three parts, and ate just one. I think that was pretty good because I'm a chocoholic. I have to keep eating well because I blew it from Sunday to Tuesday.

Catherine I'm the exact opposite as you. I squat about 50-65lbs depending on the tempo (lighter if I'm going faster and heavier if I'm going slow). I bench press about 35-40lbs (boo hoo) and I can't do unassisted pull-ups, not even half a pull up without assistance. And let's not get into overhead presses with a barbell, yikes I hate those. I don't think I can do more than 25 lbs on those. However, I've gotten better with push-ups and planks (I'd say I've made a 100% improvement as I do pretty much all the sets of either one on my toes). I would love to gain more upper body strength, but I'm pear shaped so I can't stop doing my leg workouts. I think that when I finally reach my goal weight I can focus more on my upper body, and maybe give (*gasp*) P90X a try.
 
That's funny Rose. I guess we each have our areas that we do better in. I know I can squat heavier, I just hate it and I talk myself out of it LOL!! Now pullups and chinups took me forever to do. I have P90X to thank for that one. But that's upper body and I love working upper body. Did I mention I don't like leg workouts LOL :p

I am okay with squats. But, I hate doing push ups and have never tried chin ups. I can't imagine being able to do 1 chin up. My eating has been good this week. I have exercised 2 days.
 
Wow, I am so impressed with my eating today-LOL!!! Of course because at this point all I've had is my morning oatmeal with skim milk and walnuts and my post w/o protein shake with a banana:D Hopefully the rest of the day will stay as clean.

I did my upper body w/o today. Had DH hand me the 60# BB and did 3 sets of 8 reps fairly easily. I was suprised. The last two reps were hard, but I think I will do 65 next time he is avail to help!!! The rest of the workout was 15# pec flies 3 sets of 8 (hard after those bench presses) DB lat row40# 4 sets of 6(same), Millitary Press 50# 4 sets of 6 (last week did 5x5), rear flies 15# 3 sets of 8, skull crushers 15# 4 sets of 6 and biceps 22.5# 2 sets of 6 and 4 sets of 4 (last week did 21.25#). This is the first time I have tried doing lower reps and going as heavy as I can. Trying to progress a little each week. I really like it. Hopefully later will do KB and some abs.

Rest day for me today. I have DOMS from my leg workout yesterday and it's pretty darn hot and humid too. I'll wake up early tomorrow to do my workout first thing in the morning. By the way I think I need a whole new wardrobe all my clothes are floating on me. About a month ago I bought a pair of white capri pants and a light yellow linen top and I wore them today and seriously I need about 1-2 sizes smaller. It feels good that I'm reaching my goal weight but I'll need to buy a whole new closet of clothes so I better start saving. :)
 
Way to go Rose. There is nothing like needing a new wardrobe in smaller sizes:) You have worked really hard!!!
 
ITA, Rose that is just Awesome!! And what a good reward to be able to buy some clothes that show off your newly shaped body!! Keep up the hard work ladies!!

Affirm, the end of the school year is near. I bet you are getting excited for summer eh?

I am gonna whine a bit. Will probably take a rest day today. Have been dragging for a couple of days-just plain tired. Had Thurs off, but didn't feel recovered. Last night was sick to my stomach. Felt like I was gonna toss my cookies for hours YUK. I hate that feeling. This morning is better, but I have a dull headache. So if I workout maybe something light. We'll see if I bounce back later or not.

Hey ladies! I'm in the last few days of CTX and today I did 10-10-10 (cardio) + S&int (chest) + 10-10-10 (triceps and stretch). Diet has been great, but I'm baking a full calorie full everything (i.e. nothing artificial: sugar, butter, milk, etc.) banana walnut cake with cream cheese glaze because I have guests tomorrow. I will have a taste of course, but I know how many calories a piece of my cake can have (I always say a serving size of my cake with a glass of milk can substitute a meal :p) so I definitely will remember my diet.

Next week (I'd say Wednesday or Thursday) I will start a GS Rotation for about a month. We'll see how that goes.
