Hey ladies. Today I couldn't exercise because I went to a family gathering and I just got home, but I did well with my diet. Last night I tried a natural sleep aid and it didn't work for me. I will have to talk to my doctor about that. Hopefully I have better luck tonight.

I have to workout tomorrow. No excuses. I'll let you know what I end up doing.

Rose, I hope you had fun at your family gathering. KUDOs for eating clean which is hard to do at special events.

I just finished a part of Cardio Fusion this morning. I was so exhausted. I barely got in 30 minutes. I guess it is like starting over for me. I should be better by the end of the week hopefull.

We did get our puppy. He is so cute and doing well. He is 7 weeks old. The breeder told us that he can hold it already for 4 to 5 hours. We are going to crate train. So far, he has not had an accident in his crate. After meals, nap, etc. we take him outside and he does his business. We are proud of him so far. The last one to bed takes him out (9 PM) and my DH gets up once in the night to take him out (1 AM) and I take him out first thing in the morning (5 AM). Anyway, that was day 1. I let him play in the kitchen for a little while and then a put him in the crate, so I could go downstairs to exercise. Now, he is taking a nap.

Rose, sorry your natural sleep aid didn't help :( I know what it's like to not sleep, so I sympathize!! Sounds like you had a busy weekend, but kept things in check.

Affirm, Cario Fusion?? After being sick, are you nuts LOL!! Take it easy on yourself. It sounds like you've got a good routine going on with your puppy. Does he have a name?

I did pretty good this weekend. I did have a couple of pepsi's all weekend, but otherwise pretty clean.

I did upper body today. I seem to be stagnant on my bench. Can not move up x(

Hey ladies! I got back on track today. Light cardio + GS: BSB (I used lighter weights than what I normally use) + abs. It felt so good to exercise after my long break.

Affirm - I'm so happy for you! Having a new puppy is so great.

Catherine - How heavy do you want to bench really? LOL!

Tomorrow I'm doing GS Legs.
 
This morning was pyramid down of PUB.

Fitfairy, I am not sure what I was thinking when I decided to do Cardio Fusion after an illness and knowing I have not exercised as usual the last 2 months. I should have started out with Cardio and Weights or something like that.

My focus this week is to get in about 30 minutes of exercise and drink more water. I will gradually get back into things. Yesterday, my eating was good. I am determined to have no sweets for a while to get back in the swing of things.

I was telling a friend of mine that I know everyone's body is different, but I have experienced that "no sweets", other junk food AND exercise does wonders for mine. That is my secret. I am not sure what the secret of these skinny top models, but that is mine. I am back up to 145.5 pounds (I was up to 147.5 in Jan. and got back down to my normal range of 141-142 with our dedication). I determined to get back to 141. Summer is usually good to me. You ladies have been great to me over the last 2 months. Thanks also. I just have to get rid of those few pounds. A few pounds on the stomach always look like about 10 to me.
 
I decided to listen to my body today and rest. Since I'm getting back on track and I had a long workout yesterday, I have some DOMS and fatigue. That time of the month is almost here too so that doesn't help me either. I plan to do GS Legs tomorrow.

Affirm - I can relate to your dilemma. My doctor told me awhile ago that I needed to be at 122-125lbs due to my height and where I carry my weight (in my hips and thighs) in order for my joint problems to disappear. I've been stuck on the 130s for a long time now. My lowest is 133.4, but I've been gaining and losing the same 2-3 lbs for months now. It's getting harder and harder for me to be where I'm supposed to be. In my case is mostly due to bad diet choices (way too many cheat days, eating high glycemic foods, not counting calories, etc.) and lack of sleep. When those are under control I go on losing mode again. I was also sick last week and I had 8 consecutive days of rest. After that I had 18 mins of C&W step one day, then I went to a yoga class, and I exercised yesterday, so I'm slowly getting back on track with my workouts.

I've heard many times that the last few pounds are the hardest to lose and now I know how hard that is.

Hey ladies!! I have been so busy this week :eek: I thought it was Thursday already LOL!! I did Imax2, but skipped the last two intervals to do abs. That's a good trade right? I am eating a salad. But I have something evil in the fridge }( Tirimisu, I couldn't resist!!!

Rose, I think you are smart to listen to your body and rest. I used to beat myself up over that. But now I know it's the smart thing to do ;)

I started my morning with Rhythmic Step. I got almost finished with the 3rd step combo and had to stop (45 minutes). The puppy (MAX) had started to bounce all around. I was running a little bit behind and I knew it was time to get him out of the crate, so I just stopped. It was time to feed Max and take him out in the yard for his morning play. Today is supposed to be in the 80's instead of 90's so I know Max will like that because he doesn't like the heat.

Anyway, it felt good to get in 45 minutes of exercise.
 
Good job Affirm! 45 mins is plenty especially when it comes to RS. Today I did GS Legs. Yikes that time of the month is almost here and my neck gets so stiff and tense... I can't wait for this to come and be gone. x(
 
Rose, you know I experience tense neck sometimes and currently am at the moment. I never thought about that TTOM as I am just ending TTOM. I can never figure out why my neck is tense sometimes and now you are making me wonder.

I don't own GS Legs, but everyone raves about it. I shy away from leg workouts for some reason. I will do a total body workout, but rarely just legs. However, I do love that new butts and gutts. I guess I like it because it doesn't have all those leg presses. I have PLB and I never do it becuase I hate leg presses. Ironically, I used to not mind doing them when I was doing the FIRM many years ago.
 
LOL at you Affirm talking about leg presses. I loathe leg presses!! I skip them whenever possible. I think the GSL has a couple of sets of leg press with the band-so it's not too bad.

Rose, GSL is a toughie, but good one!! And what's up with the neck thing? Mine is bothering me too.

Speaking of leg work. That's what I did today, along with some chinups. I did 14 total chinups 5,4,3,2. Not as strong on my chins today :( Honestly though it may be from lifting the heavier barbell over my head for leg work???

Legs was S&H with my own tempo
Squats: 60# 3 sets of 8
RDL: 65# 3 sets of 9 (I know they aren't in S&H, I added them)
Lunges: 55# 2 sets of 8
Plie Squats: 43.75 3 sets of 8 (that's up 3.75#s)
Calf raises: 27.5 3 sets of 20 (up 2.5 #s and I varied the sets)

BTW at the end of squats while I was changing wts I realized that I was squating with 65#. But it was lopsided with 5 extra pounds on one side x( I knew something did seem right :D

Hi there. Today my neck is better but not 100%. Last night I couldn't move and I went to bed really early. I always know when is the exact day of ttom because I get neck spasms, lower back pain, and sometimes migraines the day before. So here I am, it's the first day of ttom.:p Oh freaking well... I also have major DOMS in my legs, but that's what GS legs always does and I even went lower with my weights since I was starting again. LOL! I'm not sure if I'll workout today or not. I'll see how my body feels in a couple of hours when I get back home.

The GS series is a must. I think it takes your body to a whole new level. I wish I had taken pictures before I started GS. I know the hardest body part for me to tone is my arms and with GS I always get them to look good. The only thing is that the workouts are long and someone with a tight schedule might want to do cardio one day and one GS the next day, or do shorter premixes. Another option is to do a split (cardio in the morning and weights in the afternoon), but that's for someone who is really dedicated. I always say I'm going to do that and I never do, but many people in the forums do splits successfully.

My diet has been awful (too many simple carbs, too many calories, etc.), but now I know why. I'll get back on track tomorrow.
 
Overslept this morning and didn't get a chance to get in my morning workout. It was time for Max's morning routine and then off to swim practice with the kids. My diet has been good this week. It is hot and I have a popsicle during the day with the kids. I love the treat and count it as something a whole lot better than having a bowl of icecream.

I have GS back, shoulders and arms. With everyone raving about the entire GS series, It sounds like I need to treat myself to something special this summer. However, I have to earn it first by getting back into routine.
 
I decided to rest yesterday. Today I'm doing LIC (cardio only) + GS: C&T + LIC (abs & stretch).

I have Cardio Fusion and I haven't tried it yet. I think it scares me. :eek:
 
Cardio Fusion is tough :eek: I rarely do it. Probably should do it more LOL!!

I did ME upper body premix this morning with abs and just now finished SP&J step only and did the kickbox part twice it was so much fun :D I did cheat a bit yesterday. I've had a busy week. A pharmaceutical rep brought in chocolate milk shakes for us. So I had about 1/3 of mine. I figure that's better than having the whole thing.

I will be cheating this weekend though. DH is taking me out for my birthday (which is actually Tues). Don't know where we'll be going, but guarantee there be cheating involved }(

Weekend cheats are allowed! There must be something to look forward to. I just have to learn to have reasonable cheats. No workout today for me. I have done a total of 4 workouts this week. 3 cardios and 1 upper body. I hope to get in 2 upper body workouts next week.
