Morning Maniacs -

I work the early shift after a late one.....so only 4.5 hours of sleep last night. I did Tracey's new kickbox....but struggled a bit. I also tried to keep my impact lower. Workout was 60" and I burned 612 calories. Max HR was 156.

I'm sick of this snow. Yesterday, on the way to work, my car spun out and I ended up in a snow drift for an hour. I was trapped in my car....snow all the way up to my windows and I was buried. It was 16 degrees outside and my windows were even frozen shut. I was pretty shook up. I sat there with part of my car on the road and part in the snowdrift. Oncoming cars kept spinning out where I did and kept almost hitting my car. It was dangerous. It took about 7 guys to push me out. I called 911 but nobody ever came! That's sad. Thank God for good Samaritans! Needless to say, it's the first time I've ever been late for work.

Today was Total Body and I had a great workout. I was really sweating today, not sure why. This was the same workout I did last Wednesday but in superset format.

2 sets of 8 reps with a 1 minute rest between each superset.

SS #1
Incline Bench Press - 90# (Up 5#)
ss w/
Barbell Row - 90# (Up 5#)
***This was a tough superset, especially the rows. Weights felt really heavy here.

SS #2
Squats - 90# (up 5#)
ss w/
Dumbbell Military Press - 22's (Up 2#)
***This was a good superset, but again the squats felt really heavy. My low back felt a lot of strain this morning. Not sure why.

SS #3
Alternate Front Sweeps w/Twist (biceps) - 27's (Up 2#)
ss w/
Lying Barbell Extension - 55# (Up 5#)
***I just realized as I typed this that I did the tricep work first, then the bicep work. Both were excellent exercises and very challenging. I wish I could think of the name of the bicep exercise. I know it has one. LOL!

Then I did the Ab Work from MMA Boxing. I thought I had done this routine before but I didn't remember any of it this morning. Weird.

I got a call from the first place I interviewed at to come in next Wednesday to take a test. Not sure what the test is for. Could be Excel? I was very happy they called me back. We'll see how it goes.
 
Lora-that sounds very scary. Other drivers are my biggest fear when driving on snowy roads, well that and my truck is rear wheel drive and really sucks on snow

Debbie-nice work. I really need to check the ab work from MMA. And YAY :eek: on the call back. I wonder if it might be a drug test.

Yesterday was cardio and I did 30 min of Imax2. I don't know what is going on lately, but I am really breathing heavy and having a hard time cardio wise. It's ttotm for me and I don't know it that has something to do with it. DH and I went to look at a dog yesterday, but I don't think he was the dog for us. I feel horrible though b/c he's just stuck in a cage until someone rescues him.

Good Morning,:)

Today, turned out to be an unplanned rest day and I am pissed about it too. It all started yesterday, after I got off work which I did not get home until 6pm due to freaking weather, grrrr :eek: parked car in garage grabbed shovel and got busy shoveling snow, I love it :rolleyes: As soon as I came into my house, my son called asking me find papers he need for today it took me almost two hours, argh……I didn’t have time to do what I do to prepare for today. Finally 9:30 rolls around, I’m usually in bed at 8pm and I haven’t done anything for myself:eek:

Now it’s 10:30, finally in bed, I could not fall to sleep to save my life, :confused: the lasts time I looked at the clock it was 11:30. When my alarm went off this morn, I literally could not move not from shoveling snow but from all the drama. Not done, then this morning, before work. I had to drive all the waaaaaay cross town to give my son papers. I feel like I put in 8 hours already. After work, I have class won’t get home until 9pm. Gee!

I really hated to put a rest day on my rotation, have to move the remaining of this week’s workouts up I’m being cheated of my favorite workout GS.

Debbie: Excellent work:) congrats on second interview or testing, that's always a good sign ;)

Theresa: I’m good, got my second wind.:cool::rolleyes: Aw….Imax’s are my favorite cardio workouts, that and Scrambled Eggs. I can’t wait till recovery week, its' going to be a cardio fests.
 
Today was cardio and I did Imax2. Ever since I finished Insanity, dvds that used to challenge me I can sail through. It is amazing how that has conditioned my body for cardio. Anyone have any fun Valentine plans?

I might do this workout tomorrow. Been thinking about it. I really love Imax 2. Excellent news on your endurance! That is really great to hear!
 
Lora - I hate to say this, but geez girl, if you didn't have bad luck, you'd have no luck at all. Glad you are ok.

Theresa - I found out it's an Excel test. Should be a cake walk for me. :eek: Sorry you had a hard time with Imax 2. Sometimes that happens to me, too. Could be how you ate yesterday, how you slept, etc. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Teddygirl - Sorry about how busy your days have been. Hope it slows up for you soon! Relax in a hot bath tonight!

Debbie-glad to hear it's Excel,and I'm glad you are so proficient w/ Excel. Best of luck (even though you don't need it).
And on the cardio, I don't know what's going on. Now I know I am not picking cake walk videos, but still.....and a few days ago I was wheezing after my workout. I don't know if I am having some allergy problems, but I can't see how since EVERYTHING is supposed to be dead in winter :eek:

Roselyn-maybe I need to get on the Insanity bandwagon. Did you do the fit test?

I though I posted earlier but I can't find my post:confused: I guess I was in a hurry. Workout today was MMA Fusion 50 min,406 calories,Max Hr 168. I then did STS Disc 7 chest, shoulders and biceps 55 min, 412 calories, ended with STS weights and plates abs using 5# ankle weights and weighted gloves with 3# hand weights. I wanted to get tomorrow's workout in too since I have to leave really early and I pick up dh at the airport tomorrow evening. Workout was 2 hr 3 min and total calories burned was 930.

Debbie, that is great about the job. Glad that the test is something that you know well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you:)

Roselyn, that is great that your cardiovascular levels have gotten so much better. I have heard others say that too. My dh will be home this weekend and we are having a birthday dinner/valentines party here Sunday.

Teddy, sorry things are keeping you from what you had planned. Hope tomorrow is better.

Theresa, Cedar pollen has been out there.

Was gonna post earlier but all of a sudden my phone lines went dead for the next few hours. Weird.


Anyway, I feel like bum, no workout for me again. However I did go out to shovel snow for awhile and my left hand hurt and my right shoulder started aching, so I guess the rest is really good for me. Trying to make an appointment with a hand specialist, see if he can tell me what is going on.
