Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Prevention's Walk Your Way Slim with Michelle Dozois. My HR hovered in the 80-85% of max range and I hopped on and off the Rebounder for parts to take impact off my feet. Workout was 46" and I burned 450 calories.

I also did Yoga to the Rescue for Back Pain. This DVD went back in with the DVDs I'm not sure I'm keeping. I really don't care for it too much. It has a lot of backbends and back strenghtening moves in it.

Deb - did you see my note from the other day? I need a Mark & Avon catalog. Okay?? Thanks.

Diane Sue - Yes, the environment I'm working in is SO MUCH better. As a matter of fact, I think it's the best one I've ever been in. Hopefully I can get used to the long weeks and days. It's not a very difficult job...but they told me there is room for "advancement"....so maybe I can learn some new stuff and take on additional responsibilities further down the road.

I'm feeling pretty grateful for my health today. Yesterday at work, I found out my one coworker is undergoing chemo for breast cancer and my other coworker has Lupus and just got diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and a mini stroke.

Have great days ladies. I have an eye appointment this morning and then I'm going to enjoy my Saturday since I'm not working Saturdays just yet. After I'm trained fully at work, I'll be working 6 days a week every other week.

Took me awhile to get all of my workout in. Took dh to pick up a vehicle we had in the shop so did core first. I did Athletic Step Jam from CIA Sharon Twombly and wore my Jolie shoe weights, Pyramid Abs using a 15# med ball for the first part instead of the stability ball, 15# dumbbell for oblique twists, still had the Jolies (1# each ) on for the pikes(really do not think I feel a difference with weight on feet or ankles), Tracey Staehle's Core Blast Standing core using a 10# med ball, weighted gloves, 5# and 10# dumbbells, then the plank segment wearing a 20# vest, I added two sets of Knee raises wearing shoe weights and holding a 10# med ball between knees and 25# wood chops on the stability ball. Cardio was itread 13 with 6 sprints and added on hills and a couple of more sprints to hit 1 hr.. I finished with Tracey Staehle's Parts dvd premix pilates, abs, yoga stretch.
Total workout time with w/up and yoga was 2 hr 18 minutes and I burned 885 calories. HR during cardio was 100% part of the time. I burned 25% fat doing this. Glad I know it boosts the metabolism for a long time.

Lora, maybe if you advance you won't have to work such odd long hours. But I do think you seem to not be stressed so much by this job and that is really a good thing.

Hi guys!

Well with all my travels this last week - I missed the day 5 of the WS work out. Tomorrow I am going to run the hills and then start week 3 on Monday.

Take care.

Hi Ally!

Diane Sue - What HRM did you end up with? It sounds like you're enjoying it now and aren't having any problems with it? I can't believe you can get your HR to 100% max. I can't do that! I hate to sound negative - but I doubt the hours will change at work. The other people all work over 40 hours (they must love overtime?) and they are there longer hours than me with the exception of the one girl that is part time. At least, the job isn't a "dreaded" job....so being there so much won't be that unpleasant. I do get a bit bored from time to time and time goes slow.

It sure is quiet around here today.

Lora, I bought the Polar F11. I looked at all of them at Academy Sports when I took back the Nike Triax one. The F11 was the only one that did not have that huge plastic type transmitter chest strap. The one with it is really soft and you wet it. It snaps onto the small transmitter that sits in the middle. It is a lot more comfortable and it fits!! I really ran hard for the 100% HR zone. Most of it was short but my HR stayed up a little longer. Normally I recover very quickly. I wonder about the MIO because I know that by the time I put my fingers on the pads I am sure it would have dropped some. That may be why you don't get as high of readings on your HR. Recovery for me is normally pretty quick.
Do they pay their employees overtime??

Ally, are you home now?? I have to hand it to you keeping up the workouts when you were gone. I try, but most of the time I miss some days. But then I always think of it as a recovery week:)

I forgot to mention that my inner thighs have been so sore all day. I think it is from squeezing the full size stability ball with Athletic Step Jam yesterday. It is really hard to do the jumping and keep it squeezed throughout. They let some air out of theirs.
Sometimes I use one that is smaller and loses air easily. I really notice a difference if the ball is full size.
