Morning Maniacs -
Today is supposed to be a rest day.....but I did Tranier's Edge Killer Back and Abs with Michael Olijade - boxing segment, standing core segment and jump rope segment (about 20 min or so) and then I did Intensati with Patricia Moreno 60" followed by Shiva Rea's Fluid Power from the Matrix - Dancing Warrior 1008, Namaskar II, Backbend Flow, Forward Bending & Twisting and Shavasana - 50". Total cardio & Intensati workout was 1 hour and 10 minutes and I burned 360 calories. I think I will force myself to take a rest day next week since I haven't had one for a while.
I have one more day on my current Cathe rotation and then I'm planning on doing a functional fitness type week and then play around with some newer stuff for a week and then I'm going to do the Jillian Michaels Circuit Rotation.
Dallys- I looked over the rest of those circuits in Jillian's book last night and tried various modifications using tubing ...but I'm concerned my tubing isn't heavy enough. I have the super heavy duty one from Beachbody which is supposed to be equal to 50 pounds...but sometimes it doesn't feel that hard. My lats are my strongest part of my body. What tubing do you have that you use for lats? I think I'll probably add an extra day of cardio in and only 1 rest day. Do you do all of your cardio at 85% of your max HR? That's hard to keep up for 50", right? Yikes!!
Diane Sue - I didn't do all of my favorite segements on Fluid Power today. I don't know if I like certain segments because I'm used to them and there's quite a big learning curve with this yoga since it's different....but my fave segments are Mandala Namaskar I & II followed by the Advanced Backbending segment and then Forward Bending and Twisting. For $13, I think the DVD is worth it for the forward bending and twisting segment plus the other couple fave's I have. After doing it again today, it made me see that it really is quite different than her regular practices. Maybe you can look at the comments over at Amazon to see what others think of it.
Not sure if we're going to a movie today. The DH is down at our other house working this morning. IF we do go later...we'll go to see "Knocked Up" ...looks funny.
Have great workouts or rest days everyone.
