Charlotte: I hope DH had a good night- good luck today at his appointment.

I enjoyed this workout- kind of nice to push myself in lifting as heavy as I can but not killing myself with cardio. :) I burned 262 calories.

CHEST
Decline Push ups using 1 riser and high step top – 2 sets/12 reps
Barbell Bench Press w/u – 35#- 16 reps
Barbell Bench Press – 55 #- 3 sets / 10 reps
- I think I can move this up another 5# next time.
Incline Barbell Bench Press 55#- 2 sets / 10 reps
Incline Dumbbell Press – 20's- 10 reps
Incline Dumbbell Fly – 17.5's- 10 reps
Incline Super Sets – 17.5's- 10 reps

SHOULDERS
Standing Arnold Press – 15's and 13.25's for last set- 3 sets/10 reps
Seated Clean & Press – 7's- 2 sets/8 reps
Standing Side Lateral Raises – 10's and 8's for last set- 3 sets/10 reps
Reverse Fly– 8's- 2 sets/10 reps
- I think I finally figured out the correct form on this exercise- finally felt it in the right place.
Seated Side Lateral Raises – 10's- 16 reps

TRICEPS
Close Grip Dumbbell Press – 15's- 12/10/8 reps
Lying Tricep Dumbbell Extensions – 10's and 8's for last set- 3 sets / 10 reps
Cross Body Dumbbell Extensions – 8's- 2 sets/10 reps
Lying Tricep Dumbbell Extensions – 8's- 12 reps
Weighted Dips – 35# DB- 1 set/20 reps 1 set/24 reps

I noticed that I finished all the sets this time from last time, where I failed with one rep to go, so that shows definite improvement! Hooray! Have a great day everyone!
 
Today was Pure Strength Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I added an extra set to any 2 set exercise. Got an excellent workout.

CHEST
Push ups off step: 3 sets/12 reps
Bench Press w/u: 65# - 1 set/16 reps
Bench Press: 85#- 3 sets/10 reps
***Right shoulder really bothered me with this. This really bums me out. I'm now wondering if I'll ever be able to do heavy benching again?
Incline Bench Press: 75# 3 sets/10 reps
Incline Dumbbell Press: 30's – 10 reps
Incline Dumbbell Flies: 25's - 10 reps
Incline Super Sets (Flyes into presses): 20's – 9 reps

SHOULDERS
Arnold Press: 20's – 3 sets/10 reps
Seated Clean & Press: 8's – 2 sets/8 reps
***These really bothered my right shoulder. Only did 2 sets.
Side Lateral Raises: 10's – 3 sets/10 reps
Reverse Flies: 10's – 3 sets/10 reps
Side Lateral Raises: 8's – 16 reps
***Went light due to the shoulder. Felt like a wimp.

TRICEPS
Close Grip DB Press: 25's – 1 set/12 reps; 1 set/10 reps; 1 set/8 reps
Lying Tricep Extensions: 15's – 3 sets/10 reps
Cross Body Extensions: 15's – 3 sets/10 reps
Lying Tricep Extensions: 15's – 12 reps
***By this point triceps were really burning.
Weighted Bench Dips: 35# - 1 set/20 reps; 1 set/24 reps

- How long has your shoulder been acting up? That is tough about your press, since I know how heavy you like to go. When my shoulder was really bugging me I found going pretty light and working the negative was a great challenge.

This week four of Phase 2 of TT for Abs. Thinking I might take a rest before starting Phase 3.

Superset A
Reverse Lunge

Superset C

AB Wheel Roll Out

X-Body Mountain Climbers w/ hands on ball
10/10/10 per side
Straight Arm Side Plank
30 sec. hold x 3

Then interval cardio at 30/90 ratio for 6 rounds going over step w/ lunge back. Then Floor Stretch from Tamilee's Total Body Stretching. Then DD made me run around with her some more. Work out was 1:26 and I burned 600 calories.

Got a late start today so kids were with me, and after the intervals I run around my workout area, well they were running with me. They just thought it was a blast.

Linda - First off, did you get my pm??? Check your inbox. ;) And my shoulder has been bothering me for quite a while now. It hurts to lift my elbow up and away from my side so it hurts right at the side of my shoulder. I feel pain when I do that and I don't like it at all. I'm taking a week off after this week, I figure I'll just do cardio and give my body a rest for a week and see how it feels after that. If it keeps up, there is no way I can do the STS workouts. :(

Debbie - I got you pm and pm'd you back! Hope the rest takes care of the shoulder problem, sounds horrible. I am gonna start looking into help for my hands. Think I am gonna start with a massage therapist, and go from there.

Morning Maniacs! Just finished Burn Circuit #1. I used my lifting hooks and it really made a difference. These will really come in handy when I work my back on the other Burn Circuit (can't remember which one works back). I then did Lauren Brooks 12 min. Fat Blast kettlebell workout.

Debbie- When my shoulder was hurting (seems similar to yours), I ended up getting a cortizone shot (helped so much!) and the Sports Medical Doc told me to use bands for awhile instead of weights. The constant and different pressure with the bands really helped with the healing. Dh was told the same thing when he hurt his bicep. He was told this by the football team Doc. That Doc always made the players use bands for recovery. Just something about them that works.

Char- Hope they find some help for Bobby today.

Linda- I hope the massage therapy works for your hands.:)

Dallys, Thanks a lot for the advice. I will try that. Even some band work really bothers it. I need to do something or I will be out of training for a while. :confused: Can't deal with that.

Have you had it looked at? When I had mine xrayed, they told me I had a "bruised" rotator cuff injury, not a tear, thank goodness, I guess a tear is pretty serious. It's all healed now. This was a few years ago. I HATE injuries.

No, I haven't had it x-rayed. I probably should got get that done. If it doesn't feel any better after my break I may do that.
 
Hi maniacs. Had a rough night last night with stomach cramping :( Guess thats what I get for eating pizza! After eating very clean for the past 7 weeks I guess my body didn't know what to with it! Glad that's out of my system and I'm ready for today's workout!

Debbie...sure hope your shoulder gets better. That has got to be annoying!

Teddy...how exciting to be getting your surround sound hooked up!

Hi to everyone else!

Tomorrow is my DS 16th b-day! Just signed him up for behind the wheel drivers training! :eek: Actually it will be nice when he gets his car so I don't have to play taxi anymore and he can run errands for me! :)

Off to do my workout....
 
I tried to post my workout earlier but could not get on here for some reason. I had two of my grandchildren here this morning.
Today I did Tracey Staehle's Steady State Step repeating the final combo with just Tracey and burned 423 calories, then I did Kelly Coffey's Cardio Sculpt Fitness premix cardio and upper body and burned 252 calories. I follower with Tracey's Parts dvd upper body, pilates(because my grandson wanted to work his middle) then the yoga. Total calories burned was 973. I also did a couple of exercises to try and find my 1RM I did standing dumbbell bicep curls 1 set 6 reps with 25# dumbbells since I was interrupted I redid and did 1 set of 10 reps with 25# dumbbells.
I then did standing side laterals 1 set of 10 reps with 15# dumbbells.

Sonya, I really enjoyed the pizza yesterday but you know I feel kind of icky today too. Way to much sodium yesterday. Back on track today though. Lots of water and started my morning with some steel cut oats. Had a low carb wrap with albacore tuna for lunch and will have turkey breast tenderloin for dinner. It is funny how the body gets used to the healthy eating and doesn't take kindly to change.

Debbie, sorry to hear about the shoulder problems. I hope you can get it under control soon.

Diane Sue....Soooo true! I am back on track w/my clean eating too! BTW....great cardio burn (as always).

Had a great workout. Since I had the time and energy I threw in 1/2 of cardio today since I didn't do it yesterday. :eek: I did KPC for the first time....it was fun!

Hey Maniacs!!!

Sorry I don't have any time lately to read everyone's post. Been a busy day. Bobby is doing much better, but still had some blacking during the coughing fits. Went to see a specialist..ear and throat doctor and everything checked out perfect. Thinks he just picked up a very nasty virus. Gonna go see a lung doctor just in case. We live near chicken farms and our neighbor has had an issue with her lungs before so I know with certain birds you can catch some diseases and not know. She didn't have any symptoms when she found out she had a lung disease. Just to be on the safe side, he will go soon, but he really is doing much much better.

I hope to get back into "the game" tomorrow and get in my workout. Hate skipping days....love my routines!:eek:
