Hardcore Fitness Maniac Hotties for 3/5

Today was Back, Biceps and Abs. I've decided this morning that I am treating this week as week 4. Then I'm only going to work each body part once a week with the rest of the rotation and add in one more day of cardio. I just don't like working each body part twice and I see no results from it. Plus I want to get this rotation done by May 1st so I can take a week off before I start STS.

10 minutes on treadmill.

1 minute rest between each set.

BACK
Underhand Barbell Rows:
45# - 2 set/15 reps (warmup)
65# - 10 (up 5#)
70# - 10/9 (up 5#)
***Held contraction for 2 seconds. Really felt these.

One-Arm Rows:
37's - 10/10/10
***These were tough. I wanted to try 40's but wanted to keep good form and that was hard with 37's.

BICEPS
Wide Grip EZ Curls:
50# - 10/8/8 (up 5#)
***This felt good. Biceps were pumped.

Incline Dumbbell Curls:
20's - 10
22's - 10/8

ABS
Oxygen Trisets
Hanging Knee Raises
Bench V-Up
Bench Reverse Crunch

***Did 1 set @ 15 reps each, rested 1 minute. Did the same with 12 and 10 reps. This tri-set gets me good. I really feel it all over when I do this. Love it!

That it all...

Debbie: We must have been posting at the same time! We'll use your thread today. :)

I did Leaner Legs this morning followed by the floor work from PLB. I lifted a lot more than Cathe (she uses 35# through almost all of it) so had to pause a lot to switch my weights around but I needed the break anyway. It was a great leg workout, but the way the deadlifts were thrown in 4 different times kind of irritated me since I kept having to switch out my weights. The last time I just lifted a bit lighter because I was over it. I have improved a lot on the roll ins in the PLB workout so that made me happy.

Hermia: WTG on the flys! I love it when I reach a milestone like that.

I have to go run DD to preschool- BBL.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Finished Low Max yesterday, but didn't get in my ab work so I will do it today. Gonna do GS Legs and Cardio Coach #2 plus ALOT of stretching inbetween and later on in the night...maybe PM Yoga or something of that sort.

Debbie,

Great workout! Good going on the one arm rows too. I know what you mean about those.

Patti,

You tear thru your workouts! That is an awesome combination. Great job on making improvements with PLB too.

Hello to all!

Yesterday was Disc 8 and then last night, I decided I needed more so I put together my own set of rounds. I did 3 sets of 3 minute rounds on each of the following: rowing machine, KB swings, and jump rope. So, 27 minutes of workout not counting 60 sec rest in between each round. I was pooped and am really feeling it today! I burned about 450 calories - can't remember exactly - I think it was slightly over. It was tough but so much fun :) My rowing machine is outside b/c of its size so I took it all outside, turned up the radio in my car and went to town! Target had some Everlast stuff on clearance last week and I got a reflex bag, pink gloves (for the bag) and the round timer I used last night. My whole body is feeling it today. I am pondering Low Max after all of the talk about it here and since I haven't done it in forever, I thought a change would be nice but I'm so sore - maybe some Low Max and some TM afterwards to work it all out. Also, trying something different with the abs - we'll see what happens...I am doing intense routines 2-3 days and much less intense and shorter ones on the other days (and I do mean short but just something to keep it going). I know that you are only supposed to work them 2-3 days a week but trial and error, you know...

Hermia - way to go! Always nice to move up in weights!

Sonya - awesome job on the chins!!! And hope your day today is much improved over yesterday.

Patti - I have yet to do Leaner Legs. And if those roll ins are what I am thinking about, I can't do them one legged b/c it hurts one of my knees so I just stick to two legs and that is fine. It irritates me though!! Congrats on seeing improvements! :)

Charlotte - have fun with Sean...are you going to keep it under 9mph?? :p (Did I remember the right speed limit?)

Shana: You go! Let me know what you think about more ab work. My abs are not my best feature but I keep trying. :) You made me want to go hit DH's heavy bag with your workout description. Hmm, may have to try out that part of Kickbox Xtreme soon (as in tomorrow). It was my first time with Leaner Legs and aside from the weight switching around, it was a terrific workout. I liked it more than I thought I would, since the upper body work in CTX isn't my favorite.

Debbie: Love your back workout- back is probably my favorite thing to work. :)

Charlotte: You sound like you're doing well- keep stretching and don't over do it! Have fun with GS legs- that is my favorite leg workout and the one legged squats on the ball in the floorwork section always get me!

You all are making me want to do Low Max too and it isn't even one of my favorites! Gotta go!

Hi

Waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy to much to tell. First, girlfriend plane, due to the weather had to make an emergency stop in St. Louis on its way to Chicago. When the plane finally land in St. Louis it was out of gas and had the wait 1.5 hours before preceding to Chicago. In Chicago, they were delayed 6.5 hours, argh……. you know we was all mad argh….. Any who finally picked girlfriend up at 8:30 that morning. Of course when we got back to my apartment she was mad and hungry. Saturday night, we went to the Comedy Club also had dinner oh boy did we laughed like crazy, after that went to a house party, which was great, I didn’t know the folks but my guy friend did they were expecting us and they sat it out for us, it was great. When we finally got back to my apartment partied and talked all night listened to music dances etc…….GREAT TIME!.

Sunday, rested a bit, not really, partied a bit more. Then me and my girlfriend Robin took her to airport her plane left at 7pm. Robin and I came back to my apartment and talked ,had a few drinks, we talked about the fun we had and how everything her and I plan turned out nice, ^^^^^^^5 too us. We started around 8ish finished around 3ish which was Monday morning, when I finally went to bed, I slept 15 hours NO SHIT!

My girlfriend, Robin, she live in my building. Her birthday was yesterday, oh boy. that’s alls I can say, tonight getting rest.. Saturday, were going to Red Lobster and where we end up I don't know.

Now, workout, WTH is that? Please explain………

Hello all! Today I did the Jackie Warner boot camp - I really like that work out. Linda - there are some moves that I think you would really like.

Work out 50 minutes and according to HR monitor - I burned 352 calories. not bad.

Ouch! I can't move! Everything hurts! Even my traps are sore and I haven't even worked back yet this week. My hamstrings hurt, my calves hurt, my chest, shoulders and triceps still hurt. Aaahhh, but it's good pain.:D:p:D:p

Okay I am done whining now. This morning I dragged myself to workout room and managed to do LIC Cardio Only premix on am 8"step adding impact, also did Bonus Cardio Finished Combos from BM2, then finished with the stretch from LIC. Workout was 54 minutes and I burned 460 calories. Wanted to go longer but I woke up late, so had to cut it a bit short.

Dang Teddy, that is some serious partying; no surprise you slept so long!

Great workouts ladies! My workout will be later and will be dependent on the amount of work I get in. Thursday night through friday is my longest stretch of teaching in the week, so I've gotta get ready for that.

Shana - Thanks for what you said on the BFFM thread! You are too sweet!

Teddygirl - Sounds like you had a lot of fun! Maybe too much??? LOL!

Linda - Wow, I can't believe you are that sore! That is too cool! Nice job getting the cardio done, it's hard doing cardio when your legs are so sore!

170 g. protein - 39%
159 g. carbs - 36%

I'm so not wanting my M7 anymore. I'm not even hungry at that time anymore and I don't know why. It may be just because it's eggs. I'm so freakin' sick of eggs. Last night I had only ate half of what I was suppose to eat. So now I'm wondering if I should make M6 my last meal. But I just think that is too long to go without food.

So I thought it was all done and over with yesterday until I get a call from the Director of Personnel telling me there was on oversight and I still have one more teacher to lay off! Arrgghhh!

Hermia...congrats on moving up in weights!
Debbie...you are liftinng some impressive weights there girl!
Shana...like the mix up of your workout.

So I received the ultimate compliment yesterday at the gym. A girl who looked to be in her early 20's approached me and asked if I compete! I told her no and she said I looked amazing. She asked if I minded telling her how old I was and when I told her I'd be 42 next Tuesday she was like "OMG. I thought you were about 28!" LOL! She was very sweet and said she was doing her first competition in April and asked if she saw me in the gym could she train with me? She asked for advice and I told her "watch your diet."

Was a nice ending to an otherwise crappy day!

Sonya, I am sorry that they said there was an oversight. That is really crappy. What a great compliment you had today. It is much deserved. You look great.

Sonya - That sucks about the layoff's. I bet that was one of the hardest things you've ever had to do. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Awesome compliment from that girl in the gym! How cool and motivating is that???

My workout is done. I started at 4:30 this morning. Remembered to set my coffee maker last night:D I started with 1.5 miles on the treadmill to get in a good warm up then did STS Disc 13 mesocycle 2 chest, shoulders, and biceps. I can feel my shoulders now! I then did 4Day Split High Intensity Step cardio premix and STS extended stretch with my grandson. He was really working on the choreography:) The grandbaby watched and ate cheerios. After I took the girls to school I was barely done with my shower when we had someone wanting to look at our house. We just put it on the market last night. I was really running to get things in order. I decided to go on to the next mesocycle since it has been a week since I have done weights other than abs. I want to get as much of it in as I can as I am not sure when we are moving and if I will have to put a lot of my equipment in storage for awhile:confused: So anyway my goal is to do legs tomorrow and back and biceps Saturday with Sunday off. I just have to get up and workout when people don't want to see the house. Oh, and I rushed a small bowl of cottage cheese before the people came which I shared with my grandbaby before we took off. I finally got to eat some tuna on a salad. I was so hungry I felt like I could eat the house:eek:

Linda - Wow, I can't believe you are that sore! That is too cool! Nice job getting the cardio done, it's hard doing cardio when your legs are so sore!

Debbie - I know, I can't believe how sore I am either. I can only think it is because I have not done splits in forever and my body is not use to being hit with multiple exercise per body part.

Sonya - Sorry to hear it's not over yet. Way to go on the compliment!

Linda: Ah, it's good to be sore! I am feeling my upper body workout from yesterday and I love it! What are you doing about DH's car? I hate spending money on cars.

Teddy: You have WAY more energy than I do- sounds like a fun time. Are you starting over on STS?

Sonya: That's terrific about the compliment! Way to make a crappy day a little bit better.

Diane Sue: Are you moving far? I hope you don't have to pack up too much of your equipment too soon- I would go nuts without my stuff. :)

Gotta go, guess nap time isn't happening today. Drat.

Today I did Step Blast and SJP abs. I wanted to share this recipe I found. It is a Eating for Life recipe. It just seemed like something different to do with protein.

Vanilla Malt
(Protein enriched very vanilla "soda fountain-style" shake)

1 cup cold skim milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey or soy)
2 Tbsp malted milk powder ( I got some at a health food store)
1 Tbsp fat-free, sugar-free vanilla instant pudding mix
6 ice cubes

Place milk and protein in blender and blend on medium speed for 15 seconds. Add malted milk and blend 15 more seconds.

Add pudding mix and blend for about 30 seconds. Add ice cubes and blend on high speed until smooth, about 30 seconds.

Pour into a tall glass and enjoy.

I tried it today and it did indeed taste like a malt. I may try a chocolate variation. Let me know if anyone tries it and what you think.

Awesome compliment Sonya! You do look great. Uncool about the layoffs, though. I would hate to have to do that. =(

Today's workout was the fist half of Tracey Staehle's Step Sweatfest. I felt very uncoordinated for some reason. Then I did the seated portion of her Yoga Solutions. Now off to errands (boo!)
