Hardcore Fitness Hottie Maniacs for Sunday, May 25

Good Morning Maniacs!!!!

Was able to get on computer real quick before dh. haha!

Anyhow, just wanted to say I have dropped 5 lbs and now 115 since last week from eating more tunafish. I am having a rest day today. My eating this way is working more for me. I don't mind being 120, but if I can see my abs more at 115..that is much better and liking it. This is my new meal plan:

Meal 1: 3 eggs, lite wheat toast, 1/2 grapefruit (yesterday had some fried potatoes with green peppers and onions cooked in safflower oil)

Meal 2: 2 Breyers Lite Yogurts mixed with 20g of protein powder

Meal 3: Tuna fish (straight from can), salad, sugar free banana choc pudding

Meal 4: Protein Shake

Meal 5: Tuna Fish (straight from can)

Good Morning, today is my rest day. I am off to church and my usual grocery stop. Later will pull weeds. Starting off with a protein shake this morning.

Charlotte, glad your dietary changes are working for you. Since watching cholestral I have lowered my fats and I think that has taken my weight back to normal. I weighed in yesterday at 113. I am going to check my bf% again this next week since it will be a month since I did all of that.

Diane Sue,

That is great! What is your bodyfat, if I could ask? I haven't taken mine yet, but I can tell it is still in good range by the definition. I will take it tomorrow just to see.

Enjoy your day. Off to Costco's.

Debbie,

Have a great day!

Charlotte, when I took my bodyfat April 21 I was 118 lbs and bodyfat was 12.1% . I bought one of the Go Fit training diaries at Target. It is nice because at the start of each month you do your measurements, bf etc.. It helps track eating and workouts too. It is set up for 3 months.

Hi!

Today is my rest day. Yipppeeee!!! I'm lovin' it too. :) My body is feeling pretty good today. Little stiff neck. My arm is healing up nicely. My leg is still swollen a bit but I think I'm good to run the Bolder Boulder tomorrow. At first DH didn't think I should, but he said he'll wrap it so it doesn't jiggle (hmmm...like Spanx? :p) and we'll just see. Since I haven't run in 3 weeks I wasn't expecting any great time, I just don't want to have to walk any of it. Before I quit my short lived month and a half or so long running career I was running about a 9:40 mile. Kind of turtle like, but fine by me. Tomorrow I imagine it's going to be much slower going with the swollen hip unless adrenaline really takes over. I figure it's only 6.2 miles and I can do anything for an hour, right? My bike had minor damage and we went to the bike shop today and DH fixed it up (a bent derailer hanger). A few little scratches but none on the frame THANK GOODNESS!!! I definitely must have gone over the top b/c the scratches are on the shifter lever top thingies (I really don't know all of the technical terms :) ). I did rip my seat a bit and that could have been TRAGIC if it was worse b/c I LOVE my seat. I've transferred it from all of my previous bikes. It's kind of bulky but it's so comfy. The guys at the bike shop all make fun of it and they don't even make them anymore. The owner was making fun of me today because I ripped it a bit. I'll duct tape the darn thing before having to replace it! :p While everybody else is out there complaining about their butts b/c they want cool looking seats, I'm as happy as a clam.

Char - That's funny you mention the tuna thing. This past week since I've been training under DH, I've lost 3 pounds. I've been eating more and only training hard (cardio) 3 days a week but have added weight lifting back into my life. I lift legs on 2 of my hard cycling days and lift upper body on 2 of my "easier" cycling days. I figured adding in weights would add a little bit of weight to my body. But I have been eating tuna a couple of times a week. I don't want to lose weight this early in the cycling season, as I know I will lose more later with more miles, but I wonder if tuna is the culprit? Oh, but I eat mine with relish, lf mayo and crackers - those packs you get. I don't know how you can eat it out of the can. ICK! You're tough woman!!!

Diane Sue - WOW! Your BF is super low! I always wonder if I'm a skinny fat person. :) My eating isn't always the cleanest in the world. I don't eat much in the way of fried foods or hamburgers, hot dogs or any of that junk, but I do like sweets. That's my big downfall (as I sit here eating Andes mints with DH. And it's not like it's my cheat day - you'd faint if I told you what I ate yesterday! So yes, maybe it IS possible that I have clogged arteries!

Suz, could you recover your seat?? Or would that ruin the comfort? Glad you are doing ok. Funny I have tuna a lot too. I put it on top of my salad with fat free ranch and some bbq sauce and onions. Love it that way. That is what I had for lunch:) I have been readin labels like crazy. DD told me yesterday that there was no cholestral in the chips so I could eat all of them that I wanted LOL
I didn't eat any which is good for me. Thinking of all of the salt and fat.

Diane Sue - Yup, my seat just ripped a little bit on the side. Whew! :) I was really happy about that. Oooo - that sounds like a good way to have tuna and a good way to get some greens too. Do you worry about getting too much mercury? I always wonder about that.

I know - as we get older we have to really read labels even more. Yesterday I was going to buy some shrimp and have shrimp cocktail tommorrow when I thought I wasn't going to run the Bolder Boulder, you know, to help soothe my broken heart - after a good ride, of course. But then I remembered how much cholesterol shrimp has so I decided against it. You just have to be so careful.

The last few years there has been a fox den at the bottom of our driveway. This year there are even more little babies - we've seen at least 8 of them! They are about the size of 3 month old German Shepherd puppies. They're so little. DH went and took pics a little while ago. Here are a couple. They are soooooo cute!

Suz, I eat fish several times a week. Don't think I have ever had a problem with mercury. I love shrimp. Wish the cholestral was not so high in it. I splurge on shrimp once in awhile. Just not very often. If I eat it I pretty much have to make sure the rest of the day is cholestral free food:)
