made it to 7 in row!! Wooooo Hooooo!!!

I did P90X legs and back today. On my first set of chins I only did 5 and I normally do 6 on the first and second set- so I was a bit disappointed x( On the second set I was determined to do 6 and I did 6, came down and said to myself 7 go for 7!! I pulled up and was shaking, but I did it!! It takes pushing beyond your comfort zone and a bit of praying ;) So my sets looked like this 5,7,5,5,5,5,4,& 4. I was so excited and no one here to celebrate with!!

So how are you gals doing? Any interesting news? Doing anything fun?
DH and I are going to New Orleans in a few weeks. Looking forward to that.

THAT IS SO AWESOME....I'M DOING THE HAPPY DANCE AND THEN SOME!!!!!

Catherine....I'm goin out right now to buy some chocolate cake or maybe a donut to celebrate.

AMAZING, AWESOME, OUTSTANDING, HIGH 5'S!!!!!!!

Whew....okay what have I done, nothing very spectacular.

Ran last night, 4 miles. This morning did Chest, squats, some shoulder work - kind of half hearted workout. I did chins yesterday one set of 9 and one set of 8 pullups, and 4 wide grip pullups. That's it, only three sets. When I did them....I was shaking upon completion. I feel like I've lost a lot of muscle in the past few months. Was at the chiro this morning for my foot that hurts while running - I think he fixed it. Waves to all you chinner, yoga, biking, running girls out there.

Briee

Catherine-GREAT JOB on those chins!!!!! How is your calf?

Briee-I'm running a 5 mile run at the end of October. I usually only run three so I better start picking it up. I can't run in this heat so as soon as it gets cooler....

Soooosan-How is the Yoga teaching going? I bet you are such a great teacher. I wish I could be in your class.

Yesterday, I did PS chest, shoulders and triceps. I tried hanging with my chin above the bar again but I didn't even last as long as at the State Fair (I guess I need a crowd watching me):)

Joanne

>Joanne, just imagine a donut on the bar and that'll keep you up there

Ummmm....I don't think that will help in Joanne's case. I believe she was the one that is strangely unswayed by donuts. I, on the other hand, may last for hours with the right donut!! That's not to say that Joanne can't do it - maybe cheesecake, icecream????? Come on Joanne, there must be something???

Briee

Catherine, this is the second time the chiro fixed my foot. The first was back about 6 months ago when I rolled it (the time I came off my step doing cardio). I knew there was something wrong for 3 1/2 months. Also, my hip was hurting during the same time period. The chiro examined my foot and made an adjustment by jerking it several different ways. We heard a loud crack and in two days my foot was completely better and within a few days my hip stopped hurting. I rolled it outward again about 2 months ago and it hurt in a COMPLETELY different location, by the ball of my foot and it hurts significantly more when I increase my running. He examined it again and said there was quite a bit of scar tissue surrounding the ball of my foot which affected my bone and muscles surrounding the bone. He adjusted it again, much the same way. I'm still hurting but he said this should last a day or two and hopefully get better. He is a chiro, but his specialty was sports injury, thus his knowledge. He did a scan of my feet and I may get fitted for orthodics at some point as well. I encourage anyone to see a sports specialty chiro for foot probs - it's helped me significantly in the past. Hope this helps.

One more thing and then I'll shut up...Joanne, how cool, a five mile race. Where will this be?

I'm doing a 5K this Saturday. I just came in from running and did 4, but the first was primarily walked with one son and the last was a fast walk with the rest of the family. Our drive is just over .5 miles so it makes it easy to keep track and I can run with one kid at a time which I frequently do. Many times I walk some and run some. I still don't know how I did the 10 mile and I'll probably never do it again.

There is a smaller Triathlon scheduled in Hillsboro, WI (not too far away) September 22, but the first leg is a 5 mile run....then 6 mile canoe, 8 mile bike. BUT THE RUN...I don't know about getting through the RUN and then to keep going???? I'll have to think that one through - probably run some walk some we'll see. You'd be amazed at the number of people who do these tri's just for fun and enjoy themselves - no pressure. I like that!

Briee-Everytime I read about your Triathlon I get so pumped. I have never canoed but that sounds like fun verses swimming. I would love to try one sometime. Maybe, I should start with a bi-thlon (sp?). I would love to do biking and running. The 5 mile race is in White Bear Lake at an Apple Orchard. Oh, and yes, if ice cream was on the bar.......

Joanne

Joanne, anytime you want to come try one in our area (a tri)....come on out! It's really pretty out here. Makes the tri's just beautiful.

I finished the 5K race this morning and was really happy with my time. Last time I ran I tried my hardest and did 27.51 and today I did 24.47. I'm not very fast, but for me that was a major accomplishment, cutting 3 minutes off my time. As I was running though, I kept thinking....I couldn't do 5 miles in a race setting and certainly couldn't canoe and bike afterwards. But, we'll see. I felt really good this morning for some reason. Hope you guys have an awesome day!!

Briee

Briee, AWESOME job!!! Hey that looks fast to me :+ Funny, don't most triathelons do the run last? I guess maybe the one's that I've seen do. Oh well, YOU CAN DO IT!! We'll be having no negativity round her ok?

I will be doing legs today and pullups. Whenever I get around to it :p

I've also been doing some spinning on DH's stationary. That's a new activity for me. It's just not very comfie. It has one of the nice seats, but still hurts my beeeeeehind. I am only doing 20 mins at a steady state just for something a bit different.

Hope you all have had a good weekend!!

OK, some actual pullup talk Ha Ha!!

I just finished pullups. Did 4,4,3,3&2. I really think I could have done 5 on the first rep if DH hadn't been instructing me (insert sarcasm) x(

I did my legs this morning. I am expecting to have a sore bootay tomorrow

Squats: 80# 4x6 (same wt, last time was 2x6 & 2x5) this means I get to up my wt to 85# next week
RDLs: 90# 4x6 was shaking with these, form was good though (up 5#)
**also note switched placement of Bulgarian Squats and RDLs around, was doing BS first **
Bulgarian Squats: (2) 25#DBs 4x5 (was 1x5 & 3x4, same wt) **these are hard when you are tired because you have to balance **
Plie Squats: 60# (bar in front) 3x8 (up 5#)
Calf Raises: 75# 1x20 and 85# 1x20

I wonder how long it'll take for DH to decide a squat rack is a must. He doesn't seem to mind spotting me, but I think he will eventually get tired of it.

Catherine-Just watched that pull up video clip. Is that you in disguise (sp?)? Great job on that leg work! I was a slacker yesterday. Started to do step and only lasted about 14 minutes. Did some ab work and MIS chest.(I'm into doing one body part per day). Then after dinner went roller blading with DD for about 20 minutes. Sunday, I did the St. Paul Bike Classic with DH. We rode 30 miles along with about 7,000 other riders. We do that ride every year-very fun.

I did 8 chinups in one set!!!!!! I can not believe it. It was just last week I did 7 and usually I flounder around for a few weeks before I can even repeat that. But on my 7th rep I still felt like I had something in me and I did it!! It was ugly mind you shaking, quivering, grunting and all of that LOL!!

So here's my sets 8,6,6,5,5,5&4 I did PS legs too btw :p I am pooped lol!!

OK, enough about me. What's up with you ladies?

Anybody out there??? I hope everyone is doing ok.

Briee are you still running?? Did you decide to do the Tri?

Joanne, I'll put some icecream on the bar for ya ;)

Sooooooooooooosan, how are the yoga classes going??

Today I did heavy upper body and 25 mins of spin. I think I'll do DM drills tomorrow. Sunday will be heavy legs and pullups. Next weekend DH and I are heading for New Orleans :D

Okay...now I'm jealous....I don't think I can do 8 anymore. And Sooooooooooooosan is NEVER going to speak to you again!

BUT I'LL GIVE YA MAJOR HIGH """"""""5'S """"""""". You are jumping ahead with leaps and bounds Miss Catherine!!

We are at the fair this week with dh's wood/pellet/gas stoves so I will be checking in when I can, but probably not too often for a few days. By the time I return Catherine will be doing 896 pullups!!!

I haven't been running in 4 days now and gotta get things back in order!! No haven't done any tri's and I can't see participating in the one 1 1/2 weeks away. But thanks for asking...I'll let ya know if I get out there to do it.

Waves to chinners!!
