Good morning ladies. I don't know what I'll be doing today. My foot is a bit bothersome. I have a session with Katie tomorrow so I don't want to do anything to aggravate it. Hmmmmm,.... I could get on the spin bike. Am I the only one that finds that so incredibly and utterly BORING??

JJ, you are still in my prayers girl!!

Linda, what's your poison today???

Hmmmmm,.... I could get on the spin bike. Am I the only one that finds that so incredibly and utterly BORING??

You are not alone. I cannot stand the stationary bike, to the point I can not even force myself to do it. I tried it a couple of times when my knee was bothering me and it was awful.

Will be back later to post this morning's workout, right now I have to go get ready to go grocery shopping ! UGH!!!!

Catherine & Linda: Thank you for your kind words and thoughts:). I appreciate it! It sure makes you forget about the "day to day grind" and think about life.

JJ

Ugh! Back from the grocery store and other shopping. DD turns 4 on Sunday and the party is tomorrow. I will be at the massage therapist, while DH is with the kids at swim lesson so we are leaving at 10 am. Both me and the kids will finish right around 12 pm, so it we will head straight to the party site, which is just our church, for the party that starts at 1pm  We will party til about 3 and then clean from 3 -4, then we will head off to a skate night that goes 5-7 (takes an hour to get there). So to say the least it should be an interesting day!:p

Okay today was the last day of Phase 2 and I am considering playing around with Providence for a week before I start Phase 3.

Superset A

12/12/12 -87#
One Arm Over Head Press
8/8/8 - 26#

Superset B
Static Lunge
8/8/8 - 36's
DB Pullovers
12/12/12 - 42#

Superset C
Inverted Row w/ feet on ball
12/12/12
X-Body Mountain Climbers w/ feet on ball
10/10/10 per side
Plank on Ball
30 sec. hold x 3

Then interval cardio at 30/90 ratio for 6 rounds. Then the Sitting Stretch workout from Tamilee's Flexibility for Beginners. Workout was 1:08 and I burned 463 calories (but this is a little off, because I turned the HRM off during pullovers and didn't realize it)

I really have to go now I have a ton of stuff to do to get ready for tomorrow!

Linda, Happy Birthday to DS:) Sounds like you have a busy day tomorrow. Have fun! I hope the massage brings some relief to your hands. BTW, I recommend a week of Providence;)

Catherine, I hope your foot feels better for your session with Katie tomorrow. I used to hate working out on cardio equipment until I got Cardio Coach. The workouts are truly amazing and the time passes so quickly. Without CC, riding a spin bike would be a major bore-fest!

Speaking of CC, I did CCV8 on the elliptical today, burned 491 calories, then stretched for a good 20 minutes. I hope to start back with KB's next week....Newport is calling my name:confused:

JJ

Well, I tried my DH's spin bike for all of 2 minutes and was like gaaahh!! So I tried LIC step only premix. It went fairly well. My foot bothered me a bit, but not like it has. I finished with KB swings I did 200 swings in 6:30 using my 8, 12, 16 kg bells. What a finisher!!

Linda, I hope DD's birthday goes well. And Please join me in a kb rotation:)

Yes, JJ I heard Newport calling your name last week ;)

Hello gang!! I had a good session with Katie this morning. We worked on windmills and dragon lunges per my request. Along with various other things. Now I am effectively vegging out on the couch

JJ, thinking about you and your Grandmother today ((HUGS))

Linda, what kind of massage do they do for your wrists? I hope DD's birthday party goes well!!

It's me again lol!!! I am actually reporting some chinups this time. This morning I did various leg drills/corrective strategies and did chins between stuff. I did 5 sets of 5 and 3 sets of 4. That's 37 chins total  Again these felt good and even easy at first. I say at first lol!! I am not going to failure. I really should do some cardio,... but foot is aching :( Tuesday is when I am supposed to see the podiatrist and guess what- we are expecting snow and ice  I really want this thing injected ugghhh!! Sorry for the rant. I will survive if it doesn't happen.

Hope you ladies have had a good weekend!!

Catherine, great job on the chins! Sorry to hear you foot is still aching...that just plain sucks! Hopefully the snow/ice doesn't prevent you from seeing your podiatrist on Tuesday.

So...what the heck is a dragon lunge? I haven't started KB's yet but hope to this week. Newport is still calling my name!

JJ

JJ, I believe the dragon lunge is in NP. It's kinda like a curstey lunge except instead of crossing the leg behind you, you cross the leg in the front and lunge. I am not sure I described that well  You will see if you do NP this week ;)

Okay where to start!

The crazy day got crazier. At midnight on Friday I hear DD crying in her room, I go up to find she has thrown up in bed. Clean up DD, then work on bed, but find damage is more extensive than new sheets. Move DD & DS to his room, go back to cleaning. Hear DD cry again..she has gotten sick again, but this time contained to just her pillow. Okay two pillows down. So I decide to not risk putting her back in the bed, because what would I do with DS, so get her sleeping bag and a blanket in a pillow case for a pillow. Finish cleaning up. Then Back to bed little after 1 am. 3 am hear DD crying and yelling for me, sick again, but not much left. Clean her up again, bedding okay. Move DD and sleeping bag to floor in my room. 5 am up and crying again and sick. Both of us back to bed. Me up at 6 am to workout and start preparing for party having no idea how I am going to pull it off with DD being sick. But DH had decorated and set up the church the night before so no way to really back out of it. DD woke up at 8 am. At first was doing okay, then sick one last time. B ut then she was tired and still not herself. Went to swim lesson for DS, but kept DD out of pool and I went off to my massage. Mad dash back for party. Forgot to bring DH's food, he had to run back home. During party DD wouldn't eat, who could blame her. Then she says she doen't feel well, head hurts and starts running a fever. By the end she was crashed in my arms. During the nap the fever broke. She slept for about and hour. Since the fever broke we decided to attempt the skating, and she was fine and had a blast.:)

Okay now the massage! Really like the massage therapist and he thinks that my condition is reversible. :) He did a posteral assessment and I am twisted. He did a lot of work on my neck and arms, says he will address my unaligned hips after my hands improve. He also gave me a couple of massage techniques and a stretch for my forearms to help open them up. If I notice any improvement it seems that my right hand is doing better, which was the worse one. But the left is still going numb, but I wear a brace in the right at night but not on the left, so I bought another brace this morning to see if that helps the left. I see the therapist on Friday night again.

Now on to the workout. Mentally I was totally unprepared to start another four weeks of TT, so I opted for Providence. Let's just say it's tough to be humbled. Some of those exercises are killer! I did a jack & jab/plyo combo during the rest except for after the Hi-Pull into Squat, that just left me too winded and used my 20KB for everything. Twice I wanted a lighter one and a few times I wanted a heavier one. Think I stick with the 20lb and work up to it and just try and add a heavier one. Will be interested to see how sore I get. Finished with Tamilee's Sitting Stretch. Workout was 1:05 and I burned 555 calories.

Oh and I think I dropped the KB about three times. and the only time I had to take a rest was during tactical lunges. I even did the snatch test at the end. I did the whole three minutes but was unable to go faster with him, stayed with the starting pace.

Linda, sorry to hear about all the crazyness!! Nice job on Providence. Wait till you try Newport  The recommendation with NP is stick with an 8 kg bell for the entire w/o. It's faster paced and meant to do with a lighter bell.

I may do Providence either this evening or tomorrow.

Just popping in to say. I am so excited- we are getting a snow day tomorrow!! It hasn't even snowed yet LOL, but we are shutting down. Now cross your fingers that I can get to my podiatry appt!!!

LOL Linda!! I honestly still don't know when I will start STS.

Tonight I did Providence and was pleased with my w/o. I started the swings with my 16 kg bell and switched to 12kg for the 1-armed. The 16 kg felt good for the 2 armed swings. Almost felt like I could do heavier  On the chest presses I used my 16 kg for the first set of presses. I only got 4 reps each side and quickly switched to the 12 kg bell. The only exercises I used the 8 kg bell on were the windmill into overhead squat and tactical lunges- both of which I suck at  I really have to slow down those tactical lunges and I can not oh squat- I just bring the bell into rack postition and squat.

JJ, are ya belling yet????

Forgot to ask if anyone has any tips on the triple crush exercise. I do fine with my 8kg bell, but with my 12kg I have to pause for a second to wipe the sweat from my hands and restart. I use chalk and still have to do this. And gloves are a no-no per Katie:D Maybe with time I'll get better, but that 12 kg bell is so hard for my small hands to hold that way.

I cannot, I repeat, CANNOT, do the triple crush with a 12kg bell! Not only do I have the sweat factor but it is just too hard to grip it and too heavy for the overhead extension. The 8kg is too light for the bicep part but perfect for the OE. Sigh.......

I did Lauren Brooks 40 min W/O today since it is a bit easier and I've been away from bells for awhile. I used my 12kg for most of the w/o and I jumped rope during the rest periods.

Catherine, you can come and take my snow anytime:confused: I was wondering what you think of the overhead crush (swing) in Lauren's workout. I remember watching an AOS minute of strength where Anthony said there is no reason nor does he recommend any overhead swings. So I did snatches instead. Do you ever do those with Katie? Keeping my fingers crossed that you get to the podiatrist tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

Linda, oh my...you and DD had a rough time this weekend. I've been there and can completely sympathize. I swear my kids could never make it to the bathroom in time. I can handle blood, poop etc...but in no way can I handle vomit! That is DH's job....I just gag and feel like I'm gonna blow myself. Sorry....TMI. I hope she is feeling much better. High fives on doing Providence! Sounds like you did great! I hope you get more relief with your massages. I have had pelvic alignment issues and worked with a "postural restoration" physical therapist/specialist to help straighten me out. Just wanted you to know you are not alone;)

Judi aka JJ:)

Judy, at first I couldn't do all of the triple crush with the 12 kg bell. I would start out with it and drop down when I felt my form going. Actually today was the first day I did the whole thing with my 12kg bell. When he would transition from one move to the next (I think every 30 secs) I would pause quickly, wipe my hands down and start back.

As far as over head swings/crush I have not done those with Katie. If I think about it I will ask her what she thinks about them. They do seem a bit dangerous.

Good job on the w/o BTW!!!
