Cathy-good luck finishing hour paper. you are right something is always better than nothing.

carole- i can't believe you can do a 6 mile run after GS legs, WOW!!

this morning's workout is HSC. I love that workout. I need/want to find a way to fit in evening runs.

have a great hump day ladies!!

Good morning sunnydelite and all other Cheetahs,

I'm up early this morning. I just finished the 50 min KM Premix followed by this month's Halloween Bonus Burn. The HBB is pretty tough, but short and sweet;-)!

Have a great wo everyone,

Katrina:)

Hey Ladies!

I literally have 5 mins or less here! Today is my early day at work so I can't goof off for nearly as long as I normally do!:p

Sunny, I didn't think it would be, but running that race was such a rush! It was such a great feeling to cross that finish line! Totally different from when I am just running for fitness-sake, you know?

Katrina, So you did the bonus burn and you weren't even doing the October rotation!? You go girl!}(

I am thinking of LL or L&G plus a TM run today. I'll decide for sure when I get home from work.

I am supposed to go to running class tonight but I probably won't be able to b/c DH will probably be working overtime and I won't have the time to drop Joey at a sitter's before class.

Catch you all later!:*

I was so busy yesterday that I didnt get to check in. I think there are no games for the kids tonight, thank god. I have hardly had time to even clean my house these days.

laurie glad you had a great experience with your half. It is a great milestone in your running and I am sure you will have many more. You will also learn alot from everyone here and carole is a big help when it comes to learning about running. she has helped me alot as well as the rest of the people on this forum.

my brother told me he wants to see the picture so I will have to make sure my SIL sees it also.

I might get to do my elliptical today. I managed to squeak in a 2 mile run/walk yesterday. My legs are still feeling tired so I didnt push it but wanted to do something since I had already took sunday and monday off from exercise.

off to get the kids up ,talk with you all later~~

G'morning Cheetahs! Biker cheetah here today, went for an hour bike ride w/ Erin & Melissa. I forgot to start my Garmin so I'm not sure how far we went (we did loops around a subdivision since it was so dark!). It was nice to chat w/ my buddies again. And no knee pain while biking, yeah!!!

I had some DOMS in my chest from the GS workout y'day- love it! :p

I'm meeting my best friend & another friend at IHOP for breakfast this morning. We decided to try to start meeting up every couple weeks for some adult conversation!! I'll have Allison w/ me but my bf babysits a little girl, Alyssa, that is her age so they have fun together. And our other friend has a 4 mo old dd that is so cute!

Then I'm going SHOPPING!!! Kohl's is having great sales & I have a 30% off coupon!!! The girls need some fall clothes & new winter coats so I'll see what I can find.

OK, better go shower & get ready for the day! Have a good one!

I'm enjoying a lazy morning as my appointments start later than usual today (11:30) I'm thinking of getting on my step today. Maybe a mish-mosh of CW cardio and LM combos only. My ankle is getting better but is still feeling bashed up a bit. I'm such a bonehead sometimes, I was planning to meet my running group for dinner and de-briefing last night then forgot all about it! I'm kind of disappointed because I was looking forward to hearing their stories. I really am a homebody by nature...

Carole, glad I could make you feel warm and fuzzy yesterday:)

Jess, sounds like you're in for a fun and productive day! Sorry to hear that your knee is still being testy but it takes more than that to slow you down Cheetah!!:)

Christine, hope your new shoes work out well. I've had lots of running shoes that felt like slippers off the get go and didn't have to be broken in. My fingers are crossed that you get the job that will be best for you.

Sunny, have fun with HSC, I haven't done that one in a long time!!

Wendy, congrats on signing up for more races!!! That's awesome, 5 miles hey? Your distances are starting to increase, way to go Girl!!:) :)

Laura, thanks, it really was a wonderful experience. I'm ready to get back to my routine now (whatever the heck that means:p ).

I'm outta here for now, hello to all my Cheetahs!!

Take Care
Laurie

Good morning cheetahs...

SunnyD.. I don't think we mind anyone starting!! I have always been able to run after legwork. I seem to only do that once a week. HSC is fun, I do agree. I love the abwork...:)

Wendy...RS is one that there were a few moves it took me some time to get down...yes, John comes home tomorrow. He has his good days and bad days. From what I understand the day he comes home can be a rough one. I feel though his coming home will be good for him right now. So, the 5 miler this Sat?...wow!!! I hope you have a great time...:)

Katrina...good workout. I'll have to check out the Halloween Bonus Burn...:)

Laura...thank you...:)...so did you get the newspaper with the picture??

Laurie...you are sweet...:)...Glad your ankle is better. Enjoy your long morning.

Christine...I got new shoes right before a 50K once...you'll be fine!!...:)...and also "Thank You" too...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/eng/jumping11.gif[/img] I love inspiring you and anyone else I can, to run...The Bosu class sounds interesting, those things scare me!

Kim...that is good the weather is similar. I think this will be exciting for you...:)

Judy...I think you would be fine with a 4 mile run after legwork. Just don't do too much or too heavy (S&H is out!)

Jess...I am so sorry about your grandma...:(...take it easy with the knee too...nothing bad at all about feeling sorry for yourself, we all do it..

Susan...hope the 6.5 mile run went well yesterday and no rain!

I am doing S&H Back & Biceps, abs and a 5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning! I slept last night!!! Yay! :7

Jess - I hope your grandmother is doing okay. I also hope your knee starts letting up on you! Have fun shopping!

Laurie - Enjoy your lazy morning! (and your step workout!)

Laura - If you do your elliptical - have fun! If I would have run a 1/2, my legs would be ready to fall off !

Sunny - I have been thinking about trying to fit in evening runs, too. I thought if I could run after work, it will still be light (for a while, anyway), so I could go outside. When I run in the mornings, before work, it is still dark. So...that is why I am always "stuck" with the treadmill. I thought maybe I could do weights in the morning and then run outside after work. I don't know. Wish I did not have to work!

Katrina - I am going to have to try that HBB! Only thing is...I would have to do it everyday, since she said to do it on the days you "indulge in a treat" ; )

Wendy - Enjoy your workout - whether it be LL or L&G...or running, if you end up going to running class!

This morning, I did PUB and ran 4 miles.

Hope everyone has a good day and "HEY" to everyone!

Linda

Carole - we did it again! (posted at the same time).Enjoy your S&H and 5 mile run! Hope all is well with you!

Linda

Hi again...I got an email from Tomasina. She wanted me to tell all of you "Hi". Also for all the racers and Jess on her marathon, Tomasina sends "Congrats"! She is trying to heal up injuries to her hip and back and build up her core. So it is the Elliptical and spinning right now...no running...:(.. But the lucky girl is going on a vacation to Cozumel in 3 weeks!!! She misses all of you...:)

I ended up doing a low impact version of RS and it was good. Balance moves on my right side are tricky but it was fun to get back on my step! I finished with LL abs and have some time left over to tidy up around here.

Carole, I'm thinking I'd like to get out for a run come Sunday. I really do love runs between 6-10K and will get out there as long as the weather allows me.

Linda, sounds like a really good workout. PUB is my fave U/B workout by far.

Hi Colleen!:)

Thomasina, if you see this, know that we are sending TONS of healing (((((VIBES)))))) your way:)

Take Care
Laurie:)

Hello cheetahs!!

I'm about to leave for a work trip, so I won't be able to check in again until Saturday--or maybe even Sunday, after the half. Eeek!!

Christine: in case you didn't see my post in the last thread, did you get your info yet? I got my bib number and corral number (#15). I'm so bummed because the friend I was going to run with is in a different corral, so we'll have to look for each other on the course (which will be interesting... LOL).

Jennifer

Good morning! We are leaving today for St. George but not driving straight through. The plan is to stop in Prim, NV. The kids will swim while I shop in the outlet mall. I'm sure my DH will want to make a pass through the casino too! Then we'll drive the next 3 hours or so to SG to stay with our friends, one of which will also get to run this year. Last year after she did her 20 mile run she was diagnosed with a stress fracture so, after completing all of the training she had to sit it out!! My in-laws will also be there. So.....the nerves are in high gear right now. I am so freaking antsy to run and I'm worried about how I will do. My goal is to shave at least 7 minutes off last year's time and while I am feeling much stronger this year than last I am not calling it a slam dunk. Too many variables. In any case, this one is for my brother.....

Wendy, Good luck on your 5 mile run. Yes, you stated it perfectly, it is a rush when you run a race. And this is no matter where you place because you are ultimately competing with yourself, trying to run a bit faster than you did last time! I'll be thinking of you when I wake up on the morning after my marathon.

Sunny, All this talk of HSC has got me convinced that I'll have to break that one out when I get back from my trip. I'll be so happy to be done with this taper and have so many DVDs I want to do again.

Katrina, What's Halloween Bonus Burn?

Laura, Sorry I didn't get a chance to post to you the other day but I did read about your 1/2. Your time was excellent and taking into account that you had not trained much for it you were right on your SIL's heels. I bet if you trained up real good for the next one you'll cross the finish line before she does. I'm not normally competetive with other people but I take serious issue with people who refuse to be humble. Anyway, I think you did awesome!

Jess, So sorry your knee is still bothering you! Are you doing the stretches that Sarah mentioned? The girl knows of what she speaks. Hopefully you'll be back to running soon. Also, I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother!

Laurie, I hope your ankle gets better soon. Did you twist it or something or is it an overuse injury?

Christine, Good luck with your 1/2 on Sunday!!!! I cannot wait to hear how it goes for you. How are the new shoes working out? I'm the same as Laurie, sometimes the new shoes fit like a slipper and I have found that if they do not then they don't work for me. Anyway, have a blast and be sure to record every detail for our reading pleasure!

Carole, Well, here I am, ready to go! Thank you so much for the kind words and support. It has all meant so much to me! You are an absolute cheetah angel! Have a great workout today.

Hi go Colleen and Linda, everyone else....

Talk to you all when I get home!

Good Morning all!!

Today is the elliptical for me, and I think that’s it – or if I’m feeling like it, I’ll do yoga at home (the only class at the gym today is yoga for seniors – a bit slow for me!). I need to get back to work! Last night was I dreaming of food processors. Hopefully soon. And by the way (thanks for reminding me Laurie!) after a 3 mile run, the shoes still feel like I’m running on clouds!

Sunny – thanks for starting the thread! As soon as I start working, I’ll be up at 4:00AM, so I know the feeling… But in a way I like having to get up early to fit it all in because then I feel like I’m doing something.

Katrina – I looked at the Bonus Burn and thought “Holy Ouch Batman!” Good job getting through it!

Wendy – I’m with ya on the races – there is nothing like running with 10,000 of your “best friends” in a friendly competition. Wait ‘til your 5 miler – when you have to push the distance a bit – that feeling is even better!! Give Joey a hug for me!

Laura – Clip the photo and bring a really cool magnet and put it on their fridge… Enjoy the elliptical! I hope I feel half as good as you do after my half!

Jess – Glad biking does not bother your knee. Enjoy your breakfast and adult talk (I absolutely understand that, and I have teenagers!) And enjoy your shopping! How fun! Sounds like a great day.

Laurie – I’m with you – my DH is a social animal and I’m more stay-at-home type. Glad your ankle is feeling better – just be careful with step as that can twist things too. Do you have a brace you wear?

Carole – is John staying with your sister? I’ll be thinking good and healing thoughts tomorrow for him and your family. And BOSU’s ARE scary! All I could think when he had us working on top was that I was going to fall off the thing (did that numerous times) and sprain my ankle right before my race. But I love challenges, so, it’s right up my alley. I’d never buy one as I could see how that once I got the balance thing down, I’d be bored with it. Thanks for the update on Thomasina! I miss her!

Linda – today’s the day I sleep in too! It’s wonderful! Good workout!

Jennifer – No, not yet, I’m picking up my bib on Saturday at the expo. I hope I’m with DH – we signed up together. Can you change corrals? I think they said you could not, though. It’s a big race 15,000 people!

Elaine – Oh, I’m soooo excited for you!!! I hope your friend gets to run this year- how disheartening! I cannot wait to hear all about your race, too!! We should run with a note pad! :p We should work on an Après Race rotation … I’m dying to revisit Cathe again!

Hello Cheetahs,

Elaine, good luck on you marathon. I am sure you will do great. It will be fun to hear how it turns out. Have fun!!!

Christine, Have a great half. It sure is fun to read about the races that everyone does. Go Christine!!

Jennifer, I missed it. What race are you doing and when? Good luck.

Wendy, Have fun on your 5 mile race. What are you doing this week for running? I think I am over doing it to much because I am very tired and slow. I am still pondering not doing the 5K trail run. Thanks

Carole, I am glad John is coming home. Have a great day.

Today I ran 4 miles, sort of tempo. I also did a stretch. I really want to do my step tapes.

Hi to everyone else. If I missed anyone elses races this weekend, I am sorry. Go Cheetahs Go!

Good morning lovely ladies,

Feeling good today after my 6.5mile run yesterday. I also did the step portion of body max yesterday after dinner. I was feeling a little guilty with the couple of yummy chocolate chip cookies I had. Okay, I had 5(OOPS!!!) Today I am going to clean my LG/KPC dvd and do the 82 minute premix. I am psyched!

Sunny, I love HSC. I find there to be some great weight work in that one.

Katrina, Halloween Bonus Burn? I will have to check that out. Great workout!

Wendy, ooh do leaner legs. I hate that workout. It kills me everytime. I really am a total wimp when it comes to leg workouts. So, you can do it for me}(

Laura, I am going to have to try the elliptical sometime to keep up with you elliptical gals. I have never tried it...hm

Jess, that really is the PERFECT day, going to IHOP and KOHLS!!!! Sounds like you had a great bike ride.

Laurie, I love Rhythmic step. It is nice a long and pretty easy on the joints. Have a great day!

Carole, I did not get rained on yesterday, YAY!! I am so glad to hear your nephew is coming home. It has been a long road for all of you. Have a great workout and tell Thomasina we miss her too.

Linda, I love PUb. I think it is my favorite workout, especially the bicep portion.

Colleen, Hello!

Jennifer, enjoy your business trip!

Elaine, have a nice time in ST. George and definitley do some outlet shopping!

Christine, have fun on your elliptical and I bet you are super excited about the half coming up, YAY!!!!

Hello to everyone else and I will check back later.

Cheers!

Susan
