CHEETAHS...TGIF!!! :-) :-) :-)

lederr

Cathlete
okay, hopefully today will be a little less stressful although i am not thinking much less. i CRASHED around 8 last night!

i am planning on iTrain cc or bc and maybe some legs. we'll see how motivated i am.

Good morning Cheetahs!

This will be my last fly by, I promise :+! My workday will be just the basics on account of the snow so I should be home between 10 and 11:00 this morning, giving me plenty of time to catch up with everyone in Cheetahville. I may even get a little run in at work before I head home, I'll have to see how bad it gets out there.

Gotta go start the first round of shoveling...that may end up being a workout in and of itself today! BBL!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

I know, I need to catch up on personnals as well!!!

Yesterdays workout was a 11 mile run. It was good but not the wisest thing I have done after doing PLB the day before. My legs felt tired and Im surprised I made it as far as I did.
Then I spoke with my brother last night and we are going to run a race together this summer in the city. Its a 10 mile race so I know I can do it. It is a hilly city though so some practice may be in order!
Todays workout is suppose to be full body and cardio. Not sure what I will be doing. Im thinking about mixing the cardio up and doing ME...but then I think about all those leg presses! :+

Lorie** DH kept me up late last night. Sometimes he wants "company" And I have to stay awake and chat with him! Would have liked to crashed at 8!

Wendi** Enjoy your run! I thought I was getting slack on the personnals as well, but I am thinking that I did check in yesterday evening at some point? I have to check in out! LOL

Have a good day everyone!
Lori:)

Good Morning Girls.

I'm not happy. It's snowing here pretty hard w/decent accumulation on the ground already and I have to be in work at 8 this morning. I used to commute 45 minutes to work on a GOOD day w/no traffic issues and would go in fowl weather as well so I am no stranger to it, nor a cry baby about it but I only had to worry about myself AND it was for a job that paid my bills. Today it's for a silly keep busy and give me some pocket change p/t job AND I have a child in tow. I am afraid of falling trying to get him TO THE CAR let alone driving into work! I would not go but who in the world am I going to get to cover my shift??? I open today so someone has to cover me if I don't go. x( x(

Okay, rant over. Thanks for listening to me whine!:p

I have Upper+ and A/C+ on tap for today though I am considering taking my rest day today instead of tmrw so we'll see. If I do that then I'll do Upper and Core tmrw instead.

That's about it for now....BBL for personals!:)

Good morning & happy Friday to all!!!

My prayers were answered and it’s a snow day today!!!

Life is [strike]good[/strike] GREAT right about now! :7 :7 :7

Shelly :: Sounds like you’re making excellent progress with the moving process. I'd say enjoy your night off, but I'm sure you will be plenty busy working!…Oh yes, during the week, my computer time before/after work is the only time of day when I can actually sit still and enjoy some calm and quiet, so I make a point to steal some time for that daily. It's how I unwind and stay (somewhat) sane. :p :7 Unfortunately, the boys’ team did not win their playoff game Wed. night, but the girls’ team did win theirs last night. I didn’t really *feel* like going to both night games :), but the kids asked, and I promised I would. (It’s hard to say no to them, esp. when it’s a playoff.) And it really does mean a lot to them. I truly enjoy seeing them play, but I must admit, it is also PR for me. It helps build a stronger rapport. When kids see that you care, they are usually more cooperative and willing to work harder for you. It can sometimes be your "in" with hard-to-reach kids.

Lori :: I don’t watch Cashmere, but I have heard the buzz…I can’t wait to have more downtime in my schedule. I can't remember the last time I was bored. :) I’m not sorry for all the National Board madness – I signed up for this :) and am glad I’m doing it – but I will welcome the day things can slow down, and I don’t think I will be pursuing any additional degrees or certifications for a long while! *lol*…Good job on a tough post-PLB run!

Lorie :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_drown2.gif I feel ya, my wonder twin. This is for you: http://www.vpsingles.com/pics/lifepreserver.gif Hope you have a less hectic day today!!! Just post a driveby when things are nuts. BTW, I think it should be TGIFF! :7

Wendy :: sorry about the sitting-on-the-hopper issues and the crud! Very persistent bugs are circulating this winter. I woke up with a sore throat yesterday, too. Feel fine but will up the Vitamin C as a precautionary measure. Can’t afford to be sick right now, and the red flags went up when one of my students diagnosed *with mono* returned to school within a matter of days. ACK!!!…One more thing to add on the boots – I would NOT let bargain-hunting dictate that particular purchase. If you’re gonna drop cash on gear, that’s the place I’d make sure I spent my money well…My days have been good. Things are a little busier right now, but I absolutely still find time to laugh and find the simple joys in every day. Working with zany middle school students makes that pretty easy. :) However, I *know* I will be taking a nap today ‘cause I have been a little short on zzz’s this week. What are your thoughts on NROL4W?

Christine :: Thanks for the support – things will get calmer around April, so there’s definitely light at the end of the tunnel! :) All is good...Is DH going back to Australia?

Carole :: Scrabulous is fun…I tend to play a slower game. Wasn't checking in as often…although I have been on FB way more lately b/c of all the OAL activity! :) Stinks about the insomnia…we are passing it around. BTW, I love your profile pic on FB. Gorgeous!

Jackie :: Yikes! So sorry to hear about that wicked virus/flu you have…sending you lots of get well, restful vibes…Flu seems to be especially bad this year.

Dallas :: I vote for the EXT!!…My chiro also finds twingy things I’m never aware of. I’m amazed how she does that. She uses the Sombra, too – great stuff!

Posh :: thanks for posting the Nike Half info…count me in!

Warm hellos to everyone else! Have a GREAT day! I am loving watching the snowfall. It's just beautiful.

Wendy,

Sorry you have to go in today...Can you call out? I mean, who in Hades is going to the gym in this weather??? Ridiculous. Utterly SILLY. (;) Crazy STS thread joke.)

I don't blame you at all for your thinking. When I was in college, I worked a PT job at a clothing store. My shift was from 5-8, and they were ticked once when I called out during a snowstorm. It was a PT job paying *minimum wage*. Had I cracked up my car, my check wouldn't have even come close to covering my deductible. I was absolutely incredulous that they expected people to risk life and limb for a RETAIL job. Close the place up b/c ain't nobody coming out and spending enough money to justify being open!!!

Good morning my Cheetah friends! Sorry I've been MIA. Unfortunately this will need to be a fly by post. Everytime I have came here to post something has came up with DS. He is not well at all. I had to pick him up from school on Wednesday at 10:30 because he was throwing up. However, when I got there he hadn't thrown up, just acted like he needed to. His stomach has been hurting him constantly for the past week now and hurting him off and on for the past month. I don't know if you all remember him having an X-ray of his stomach done early this month and the doctor said it was in a nutshell constipation. However 4 days later he broke out in hives all over his body. Yesterday DH took him back to the pediatrician. He has been throwing up, but no fever and has a healthy appetite, but his stomach is hurting him a lot. I find that odd and not to be the flu. The pediatrician said that this is viral and in most kids it lasts 72 hours, but with him it has been a build up of weeks. Right now he is on phenobarbital (I think that is the right name) every 4 hours to try to settle his stomach so it can heal. It is barely working. Anyway, DH is home with DS until lunch, then I will be taking 1/2 sick day. If he is not better by Monday then I will be making him an appointment with a specialist. On top of that I took DD to daycare this morning in about 1/2 inch of ice. It was interesting to keep from falling while carrying her to the car. However, in a few hours it will be gone since rain is now moving into the area.

Sorry this post is self-centered. I wanted to let you all know why I haven't been around much lately. I miss chatting with everyone and I hope all of your families are well.

Happy Friday All!!!

We had a nice dinner last night. But I’m ready to eat at home now. I think I’ll do either All Body Attack or All Body Cardio today. I feel I should give these a second chance. I think I discovered why I was having trouble feeling so darned hungry all the time – when I switch to a more vegetarian diet, I cut out a lot of the fat (which was less than 30% to start with). I think it’s simply a case of not getting the fat I need in my diet. My DH was noticing the same thing – so we talked about ways to increase the healthy fats. Like nuts, avocado, using olive oil instead of cooking spray. So hopefully, this will help.

Dallas – I don’t know why I don’t like DM – I think the drills are a little repetitive for me. I LOVE 4DSBC, though. Go figure. Yeah, I LOVE the long sweaty workouts!

Lorie – Hope you have a much easier day today! Your day sounded insane yesterday! Give Linus and the other pups a big ole hug and take a deep breath!

Wendy – Well, I guess snow is a good thing so I hope you get just what you need so you can get off early and enjoy your Friday! How was yesterday with SO?

Lori – How nice to run a race with your brother! I have a hilly 10 miler coming up end of April. HSTA has taught me to appreciate leg presses (if not exactly LOVE them!). Have fun today! Great job on the run yesterday on sore legs!

Wendy – So sorry you have to open today in the snow! I hope it all goes well! It is scary to think about driving in when the weather is bad. I know you’re a good driver – but the rest of ‘em out on the roads!!! I’ll say a little prayer for your and Joey’s safety!

Cathy – YAY!!!! The BEST kind of Friday! I do miss snow days! I feel bad that my kids have never woken up, looked out the window and saw all the snow, then huddled around the television to see if they had to go in. Every time I hear you talk about the kids you teach, I just smile – you are the very best kind of teacher. You care. DH is spending a week in Australia with his boss (oh I would LOVE to go with them – it’ll be half work, half play knowing those two), and then he’s going on the India and spending a week in Bangalore with his co-worker and possibly a week visiting his mom, but I think he’s coming back early – so he’ll be gone about 2 and a half weeks. He’ll get a day with his mom this time, but his co-worker planned the trip after he had already made his plans to spend time with his mom, so he kind of got screwed a bit. He’ll plan a trip to India only specifically to see mom later.

Kristi – Oh man – sorry to hear DS is so sick! I hope he does feel better soon! The poor thing! Yeah, I’d insist on a more thorough evaluation if he does not get better. That does not sound normal. Prayers to you and DS!

Hi to all who follow!

Good morning cheetahs

Lorie...glad you got in some needed sleep last night. Enjoy your workout today.

Wendi...hope you enjoyed your day with SO yesterday. More snow?...I think shoveling could be a great workout.

Lori...way to go with 11 miles! How cool you will run a race with your brother!!

Wendy...sorry about the crud coming back! You are right as insomnia does seem to be contagious around these boards!! Sorry about the weather. If you do go in be very careful...

Cathy...Yippee on the snow day!! http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/hol/snowballfight1.gif[/img] You surely needed it!! Thanks about my FB pic, although I changed it...I have had fun with the pokes and plants...:)...I also agree with TGIFF!!!

Kristi..so sorry about ds's issues. I can only imagine how tough it is when your children are sick like that. Sending healing vibes his way...

Jackie...I am so sorry about the stomach issues...and the temperature! I have always been lucky about heartburn, had it maybe once or twice in my life. I am sure the bland diet will help. I think it would be good for your body to rest a few days. Sending healing vibes and {{{{HUGS}}}} your way.

Dallas...All I can say is I love my Elliptical!! But then again, I never felt I needed a TM as Cali weather is never real awful to run in. yes, no fun at all watching the clock when you can't sleep.

Christine...I will be up for the challenge to eat clean next week!!! I slept much better last night...Good job with CF on the Bosu. I agree with you about the fat. It is what satisfies your appetite. I know I should get some avocados as I always added some to my salads.

Posh...I agree with Christine and Lorie and think we should register as a group for the Nike half.

Today will be freestyle legwork and a wet 3-4 mile run. Yep it is raining...

Have a great day...:)

Good morning Cheetahs!

Thanks for all the healing vibes. They must be working. Had a painful tummy episode yesterday after eating some yogurt. Rest of the day it was soup and crackers and a little PB. The flu doesn't seem to have taken hold. Other than a few twinges from the tummy and a little cough, I feel pretty good. Decided to just pick up on my rotation Monday. I'll just count this week as a recovery week. That will give my body time to recupe.

Dallas - Did you decide on a treadmill or elliptical? How exciting! I like having the option of using both. Laughing at you putting on the surgical mask for this thread. Sometimes it makes you think the germs are reaching out and touching through the computer screen. :)

Wendi - Glad to see you were able to get a workout in. Hope you enjoyed the day with SO. More snow? Don't envy the snow shoveling but you can count it as a good workout.

Christine - I can definitely join in on your clean eating challenge since I can't eat much of anything anyway. :) Sounds like a good idea. I think you are so right about the lower fat in the diet causing hunger. That's why I add nuts in during the day. Gives me some good fats. How is Jimmy doing?

Wendy - Sending some healling vibes your way too. ((((HUGS )))) You still pushed hard with that workout. Hope you feel better and get some rest girl. Be careful in the snow today. Hope you make it to work safely.

Thomasina - Hope you get to make the Nike marathon.

Lorie - Sorry work is keeping you so busy. Hope things slow down so you can get to work on that dissertation.

Lori - Great job on the 11 miles after PLB. How are the legs today? A race with your brother sounds like so much fun.

Cathy - Enjoy that snow day! Only rain here. x( Guess you can use the day to rest up to avoid that "mono" bug. UGH!! Glad you can find some time in your day for yourself. It's all about staying sane. Hoping the flu stays away. I don't have aches and pains or a stuffy head and nose. I'm taking those as good signs. I won't press my luck though and will do no workouts until Monday. I just hate when I can't work out! Enjoy that snow.

Kristi - So sorry to hear DS is not feeling well again. Hope he feels better soon.

Carole - Glad you slept better. Love avocados! I wish I could grow them here. I put them in salads and sandwiches. Enjoy your run in the rain and your leg workout. What's the temp like there?

Guess I'd better get some work done.

Enjoy your day ladies.

Jackie

Carole - enjoy your run in the rain! I will definitely be picking up avocados and nuts this week at the store. I love them anyway. I just had an Amy's cheese enchilada - probably not the healthiest, but yum! And it is all organic. :p I'm hoping it helps with the ole appetite.

Jackie - I'm glad you're feeling better and able to eat a bit! I think it's a good idea to wait for your workouts. We're having rain, too. I'm watching it poor right now. Ick. Jimmy is coming along. He's eating better and had put on some of the weight he lost (he was looking down right scrawny!) which is good. Thanks for asking.

Well, I did not like All Body Cardio - too intermediate for me. I did about half of it, then popped in All Body Attack, which is NOT intermediate and did the cardio only premix - that was fun. I will definitely use that one a lot. I then added on BOSU Blast's abs (ouchie!), and now I'm done. I'm feeling hopeful for the first time since the darned light bulb went on and I realized that the reason I'm starved is NOT heavy weights or lack of protein, it's lack of fats. Sometimes I can be sooo blonde! :p Good news, even with my out of control eating this week, I'm holding steady. I'm hoping to see a weight loss next week. :)

Thanks for all of your support ladies! You truly do ROCK!

Hi Kristi! Your poor little DS!!! I just wanted to respond and offer my sympathy, it must be nervewracking for you. I would make an appointment with a specialist today, don't wait til Monday. It sounds like an intestinal disorder and not some run of the mill childhood viral infection. {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

ShellyC

Hi Cheetahs! I'm running a tad behind today and need to get in my run and workout. I got alot done yesterday but it's back to work tonight for a long stretch:) Hopefully it will be uneventful.
I did the CF MixNMatch premix yesterday on the Bosu and had a ball!
Also got in a good 40 minutes on the Bosu... no wonder I slept hard!

Christine- I love both of the AllBody workouts and find them quite challenging. I'm really puzzled you find ABA to be intermediate! I feel that way about Bosu Blast. However I do feel that the second half is more challenging on that workout.

Cathy- A Snow Day for you.... wooohoooo JUST what you needed! I'm sure you are making the most of it too. What's the workout today?
Or are you resting and catching up with everything else?

Lori- How nice that you are running a race with your brother! That ought to motivate you to do really well I would think. What city is it in?

Wendi- Glad to hear it'll be a short work day for ya! Any news about your job?

Lorie- Very busy cheetah there!!! I bet you'll be glad for the weekend.

Wendy- I should have the TJ workouts in the next few days, probably by next Mon. Sorry you are dealing with a bad weather commute today. I have to admit I'm a tad worried about my commute in the winter once we are in PA. I told DH no more than 30 minutes for me.
Great job yesterday on your run!

Jackie- That was a nasty bit of gastritis you had there! You may have GERD (Gastro-esophageal reflux disorder) Have you ever tried Prilosec or other similar meds?

Carole- Sorry to hear you have hip problems again since your run in Ashland. If it is an ITBS issue I think nothing works better than the foam roller.

That's all I have time for today. Hi to anyone I've missed!
For today I'll be doing a 4-5 mile run and then HSTA on the Bosu.

ShellyC

Shelly - I had a blast with CF on the BOSU as well. Enjoy your run and HSTA on the BOSU. About All Body Cardio - maybe it's just the first part of ABC - but I'd get my HR up for about a minute, then it would some weight work that would bring it way down again for 2 or 3 minutes - then it was a lighter cardio again. I was expecting a tougher workout. Now, ABA is tough. I do not consider that one intermediate at all - it's advanced. And the workout is really growing on me. I love her cardio - it's very different - and I'm getting used to the way she does the weight work and I'm starting to like it as well. I think because it's so different it caught me off guard the first time. Now that I know what to expect, I like it more. BOSU Blast is more intermediate, I agree, because it's very repetitive. In fact I'm hesitating getting Seasun's step workouts because I'm afraid they'll be as repetitive. But the ab work is killer.

Hey Ladies.

Well I made it to work safely though I was grumbling about how stupid it was for us to have to go in the entire way. ;) We had had 2 kids TOTAL by 10:30 and they were both long gone already. The mgr came in at that point and said 2 out of 3 of us could leave so I got to leave 30 minutes early...Better then nothing I supposed. I texted the girl that had to stay a few minutes ago and she never got another kid. She probably spent the rest of her time at the front desk talking to them since no kids ever came. It was ridiculous for that daycare to be open. To top it off, they cancel the classes when the weather is bad. To me if the classes are cancelled then the daycare should be closed! My goodness...90% of the moms that come to the gym take the classes anyway! DUH! LOL Oh well, I got paid for doing nothing. I guess that's a good way to look at it. :p

So anyway my tushy is still talkin' to me pretty loudly. It's not as intense as it was y'day but definately still there. I will have to remember what I did so that I can add it to my list of lower body blasters!}(

I'm still not sure if I am going to work out today or save it for tmrw. I'll see what I feel like doing once DS is down for his nap today.

Cathy: YAY for the snow day! I was thinking of you this morning. I wasn't sure if your lack of posting was due to an earlier then normal start to get to work because of road conditions or if you were home and just doing other things. I'm glad you got your wish. :) Sorry about the kid with mono coming back to school. I remember when we would hear someone had mono when I was in school. It kinda had a bad rap as it was referred to as "the kissing disease" so the person that had it was thought of as "easy". I don't even know the real deal with mono but that's what the kids said back then. I will remember about the ski boots if I decide to invest in a pair. That decision is a long time coming yet. I'm kind of jumping the gun assuming I'll like it that much. I really need to wait until I can go a few more times and see how I do cause if I end up not being able to grasp it reasonably well then I won't want to do it. I did well during the lesson but I don't know if that really means anything or not.

Lorie: Enjoy your work out...whatever you choose!

Wendi: Glad you are getting half a snow day from work too. I am sure you relish the extra time off.

Lori: So you are going to enter a race? YAY! Good for you. Good job conquering your long run on tired legs. I love to run right after a leg work out. I feel it helps cut down on DOMS. I couldn't run after Legs and Back the other day which is probably part of the reason I am in so much pain now! LOL I ran y'day but running the day after once DOMS has settled in isn't the same. When I was done with my run I thought my legs were gonna fall right off my body! LOL

Kristi: Please take Shelly's advice and get your DS to a specialist ASAP! I am no doctor or nurse but I would think that poor little guy has more then just a virus as well. (((HUGS))) Please keep us posted!!!

Christine: Sorry you didn't like All Body Cardio. I never even thought to buy that one as I don't like Sharon's stepping style. If you remember, All Body Attack cardio is the one that almost sent my shoe through the tv set a couple of times! LOL

Carole: I wish I was in Cali enjoying the rain instead of the weather I have here! What are the temps like by you these days? I'm sure your answer will make me jealous!}(

Jackie: Glad you are feeling a bit better. I hope the trend continues. Good luck getting back into your work outs but please be careful and don't push too hard.....Like I have room to talk, right!? :p :7

Shelly: I don't blame you putting a 30 min time limit on your commute cause if that's what it takes in GOOD weather, who knows what will happen in the bad stuff. Ofcourse...you will not be living or working in NJ so you have an advantage right there when it comes to your commute!:D

My throat is still bothering me but it IS getting better so that's good. It's not nearly as sore as it was y'day. YAY for airborne!:D

Time to make DS some lunch...BBL!

wendi-i hope you have a short work day and are able to get your run in

lori-plb then 11 miles?!?! wow! what a workout!!!

wendy-that sucks about the weather and your commute. i wish you could find someone to cover for you!!!

cathy (wt)-i agree with you...tgiff!!! today is not AS crazy but still pretty crazy. i just HAD TO take a break! i am so jealous of your snow day.

kristi-post when you can. i hope ds starts feeling better!!!

christine-yes, it was an insane day. i was so exhausted last night. i think it was a good thing that i had decided upon a rest day. today is a but better and more so, because it's friday!!!

carole-i commend you for running in the rain. it's cold and rainy here and there is no way i would run outside!!!

jackie-yes, i really, really, really hope i get some time to work on the dissertation! i really need to!!!

shelly-you are so right...i am thrilled the weekend is here. i hope your work is not too crazy.

today's workout was iTread circuit circus and 4DS legs. after circuit circus was done, i ran 12 more minutes to get in 6 miles (in 49 minutes :7 ). i like that workout. my hip seems to be holding its own as well as my piriformis. *crosses fingers*

Hello fit ladies!

This will be a drive by post! I have to leave again shortly. We did the stairs again. I stayed 10 extra minutes by myself to get in an hour. That really is an awesome workout. I will definitely stretch more and get some abs in later....much later. I'll be playing shuttle service starting at 3:30P. The kids need to be in several places in opposite directions. Let's see how we pull this one off. Oh, a friend asked us to go to the Daughtry/Bon Jovi concert!!! I'm so excited!!! Lorie, didn't you go to that concert? How was it?

I still haven't decided what to do, but my treadmill still works. I'm leaning towards the elliptical. DH wants to get rid of the squat rack if I get another cardio machine. Hmmm...more decisions. ;-)

I'll be back at some point for personals.

Have a great day everyone! I hope everyone who is sick is starting to feel better. :)

ETA: Cathy ~ Love that emoticon!!! How did you cross out "good"? That's neat! I know, I've got to get hip on the HTML stuff. ;-)

Yup...I am taking today as a rest day. I'll do upper+ and a/c+ tmrw. :) It was nice not to have the pressure of a work out looming over my head today. I did a bunch of nothing for a while just because I could :p but also decluttered my kitchen quite a bit as well. The cr@p that collects in that room is ridiculous!x(

The only downside to not working out is that I am finding myself nibbling constantly. I am pretty much sticking to healthy stuff and very small amounts since I'm eating so frequently. I shudder to think what kind of shape I'd be in if I didn't pay attention to what I ate and didn't exercise!

BFN!:)
