Good Morning!
I hope everyone had a good night sleep and is well rested for working out today. MIS was pretty good, however, again I had to modify it by using 5-10 lb had weights instead of the 30-40 lb barbell, however, I still got a work out. Maybe I will ask for a barbell and ankle weights for Christmas:rolleyes: My husband has a barbell, but it is a titch heavy for me. I was moaning about pushups and he said that he does 200 pushups/day. I didn't believe him and made him show me, and he does. Crazy that we've been married for ten years, and I never knew that. I have a modest husband. Nat, I hope you had some success with your cleaning. I studied in my dirty house. Today, I will do Low Impact Circuit or low impact step. Because I feel like I'm running in circles so to speak, without a plan, I made up a rotation during breaks yesterday- I put in a thread asking fitness freak what she thought about it, and I want to know what you guys think of it. Nat, I liked your rotation, but I don't have all the same DVDs. Please offer any suggestions/substitutions, if you think I need to purchase another video (;)) etc. I hope all of your days go very well, and wish me luck on my test, after tomorrow I shouldn't be so neurotic.

Here's the Rotation:

Week 1:
Monday: Max Intensity Strength
Tuesday: Rhythmic Step
Wednesday: Low Impact Circuit
Thursday: 45 minute jog
Friday: Pyramid Upper/Lower
Saturday: Imax
Sunday: Rest

Week 2:
Monday: Butts & Guts
Tuesday: Low Impact Step
Wednesday: Body Max
Thursday: 45 minute jog
Friday: Muscle Endurance
Saturday: Imax 2
Sunday: Rest

Week 3:
Monday: Power Hour
Tuesday: Rhythmic Step
Wednesday: Body Max 2
Thursday: 45 minute jog
Friday: Maximum Intensity Strength
Saturday: Low Max
Sunday: Rest

Week 4:
Monday: Pyramid Upper and Lower
Tuesday: Low Intensity Step
Wednesday: Boot Camp
Thursday: 45 minute jog
Friday: Butts and Guts
Saturday: Maximum Intensity Cardio
Sunday: Rest

It's based on this generic pattern suggested by Fitness Freak for people who want to lose weight:

Monday: Total body workout (i.e. Muscle Max)
Tuesday: Cardio
Wednesday: Circuit workout (i.e. Bootcamp, LIC)
Thursday: Cardio
Friday: Total Body Workout
Saturday: Cardio Interval
Sunday: Rest

Pending suggestions, I will start this rotation on 9/2/08 (after my little vacation). What do you think?

Hey everyone!

Lisa - Well, I didn't get to cleaning yesterday but I promised my hubby I would get to it today! :D Your rotation looks good to me. I'm interested to see if you hear back from Fitness Freak. She needs to have her own website - a lot of people here seem to ask her questions! The entire Rotations forum is basically her answering questions. It's nice to have someone so knowledgeable to answer questions since it would be impossible for Cathe to answer them all! 200 push-ups is a lot! Good for him!
Good luck in your exercising today. I always felt like I absorbed more material after I worked out while I was in grad school. Maybe it was just the endorphins making me feel happy though!

Today I'm doing Lower Body Sculpting - so nothing too terrible. My DH actually told me last night that my legs are starting to look more tone!!!!! I was so happy! Now that's motivation!

Okay - talk to you later!

Hey Congratulations Nat! Fantastic job on sticking with working out and having good results!

I just did low impact step, really fun, happy happy cardio day. Do you think I should do a work out tomorrow before test? It might be stressful in terms of time crunch, however, it is a ten hour test. What did you study in grad school (or should I say are you studying), I have been so busy blathering on about my test, I haven't asked. Are you doing body sculpt from total body sculpt or basic dvd? I've never done pyramid, and maybe doing both upper and lower in the same day is too ambitious. You know how it is when you first start a work out program...
Well, talk to you later,
Cheers,
Lisa

Hey there!

If I were you I would do like a mini-workout - cardio for sure. Maybe a power walk outside if it's nice or a little step. That's just me though. A 10 hour test would make for a long day so don't overdo it!

I have a master's in human resource management. Nothing too exciting and I'm obviously not using it as I'm staying at home for a few years. I'm sure it will come in handy some day! Maybe when I officially open up my own day care center and have staff!

I think the sculpting I have is total body sculpt. My brother made me a copy off of some website. It's pretty easy. I actually did the lower body premix twice this a.m. and added heavier weights then they were using.

Doing upper and lower premix is pretty ambititous depending on the weight you use. If you want to get it all in, I would recommend going lighter on weights. I'm totally spent after doing upper or lower by themselves but I'm almost using the same weights Cathe and crew use.

Talk to you later!

HI everyone,

Not much going on over here. I am scheduled for S&H today, DM tomorrow and the last S&H Friday. I am trying to keep w/ the August rotation and it is kicking my booty. Once I stop hating DM, it will be one of my favorites.

Lisa - if you don't mind me butting in, I think you should continue to work out. When I sat for the bar exam, I exercised up until the day before the two-day exam. I was jittery the night before, I should have exercised and got rid of some of that energy. I went for a slow walk after the first night, but it was more of walking in circles. Anyway, good luck w/ the exam and your decision.

Hi there,

We were at an amusement park yesterday, all day! So no workout yesterday or today, unfortunately. We're having a potluck at work tonight so I need to workout tomorrow!

I'm going to catch up on yesterday's posts! You guys seem to be doing great!!

Murph-Drill Max kicks my butt too! Well, a lot does these days but I know what you mean, it's great but tough!

Nat,
thanks for the advice about exercising tomorrow morning. I think I will take a 45 minute walk (I will wake up at dark thirty because that is what I do). I'm not studying anymore, if I don't know it now, I'm not going to. Are you seriously going to open up your own daycare? That would be great. Fitness Freak kindly answered back and suggested that I do one or the other of pyramids, not both on the same day, good call.

Murph,
You're not butting in at all, I appreciate the input. Is Drillmax good cardio? I am lacking good pure cardio DVDs.

Wondergirl,
Going to amusement parks can be exercise, too!

Have a great evening,
Lisa

Hey everyone!

Lisa - I wish you the best of luck tomorrow! I'm sure you'll do great! Let us know as soon as you feel like it how they went!

I'm considering starting with a home daycare when we build our house and then possibly, a few years down the road, opening a center. There is a real need for quality centers here in the burbs of Chicago and people up here have money to spend! We'll see. It would be a lot of work and I don't know how I would keep up with my workouts! :p

Have a great night everybody!
Natalie
