Good morning, girls :)

No Monday hateration here, but it just feels like the weekend zipped by at warp speed.

Angie!!! I didn't know it was your BIRTHDAY yesterday!! Happy belated!

Sounds like despite it being a tough day otherwise, your boys treated you well. At least there was a small bit of sunshine in the day.

I contemplated going out in the rain, anyway, since it was initially light and not too cold, but the chance of t'storms put me off. As wrong as the weather people are so many times, I have been caught out there during a storm before, and it was pretty freaky. I didn't want to risk being stuck that far out...The redness has gone down some, but now it is starting to itch!!!...I did race the karts for a couple of games. :) I take it you still haven't given them a go.

OK, that catches me up. Gotta get movin' here.

As mentioned yesterday, today's gotta be my long run.

Have a great Monday!

Good Morning Ladies,

Both of my ankles hurt, inner and outer from running yesterday. My shoes are only about a month old and I haven't really been running much. I think I may need to go to a running store and run on the TM and have them pick out the right shoes for me. I usually end up with New Balance, and that's what I recently bought. I'm going to try to get to the BC class at lunch. It's a circuit workout with cardio & weights and is really fun. If I can't make that then I'll just do the EXT instead.

It is supposed to be in the upper 80's and low 90's all week. If I run it will have to be early morning, or after work. I don't do well running in the heat. When I was younger it didn't bother me at all.

I did some online shopping yesterday. I ordered a 2 gig micro sd card for my new blackberry, Amy Bento's slo mo, and All Pump Xtreme from Amazon. I also had a weak moment and ordered the Garmin 305 from Costco for $175. That's the best price I've ever seen for one of those. I figure if I end up not being able to run as much as I like, I could sell to Angie at the RT:)

Cathy-I hope the weather holds out for your long run today after school. I'm contemplating trying to run in the mornings a couple times per week. In my younger years I used to run every morning before work and loved the cool weather. It just made my run so much more enjoyable.

Angie-Sorry we missed your birthdayx( Despite the sadness of the day, your family came through for you on your birthday! You got your crablegs, cabs and carmello bar!!!

Wendy-Are you working this morning? I think it's so cool that you live by the beach and can see the water from your house. Did you decide to switch out your program? You'll have to tell us more about it.

Laura-I think we should be hearing from you today? Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!

Good Afternoon Cabbers!

Cathy: Sorry your long run was put off my possible T storms. I would have done them same. T storms scare the bejeebers outta me even when I am INDOORS so getting caught OUTDOORS in one would totally freak me out! Hope your plan to get that run done today does not get a monkey wrench thrown in it!

Diana: Nice scores w/the online shopping y'day. LOL about selling Ang the Garmin if you don't end up using it enough. I hope your ankles recovery quickly. Did you make it to the BC class at lunch? No work this morning. Just busy with housework stuff. I also did my work out early. Yeah I switched from NROL4W to a program by the person guy (Alwyn Cosgrove) called Afterburn. It's geared for fat loss. It's a 4 month rotation but I think I will do it for just a couple of months. By then I'll have to really get goin' on training for 18 mile race and will switch back to NROL at that point and that will take me up to race day. NROL just works better with long endurance training IMO. I'm think that I will do STS while training for the full marathon I plan to do in the first half of 09. This, ofcourse is totally dependant upon my surving the 18 miler in October! LOL So there ya have it! My agenda (as I see it right now atleast) for the next year! Sorry you asked? :p

So this morning was my first Afterburn weight work out. It was composed of 6 exercises. I had to do 2 exercises at a time in a circuit format for 2-3 sets per exercise. All of the exercises required 20 reps per set except for one. It was a tough work out. I loved it! It took a long time though since I made sure to read the form description for each exercise before doing it. I am hoping the work outs will become more efficient as I become more familiar with them. I will be doing the same 2 full body weight work outs for the first month. I alternate them doing 3 weight work outs total each week alternated with 3 days of HIIT at 19 minutes per session. I am also tracking cals and macros on fitday which I swore I didn't want to do but I'm going to give it a shot. LOL I also weighed myself and took my BF measurement as well as my waist, hip and thigh measurements this morning. I will check weight and BF once per week but I'm not going to re-measure until the 1 month mark.

BBL!

Morning Ladies ...

I am back!!! Safe and sound .. but the flights were HORRIBLE .. terrible turbulance...had to keep seatbelts on for 2/3 of the trip both ways .. I took something not to freak out but it did not work .. had to start the CABS ... and they did not even work .. I felt like kissing the ground when we finally landed. At one point going into Vegas .. the wind was so bad our wings would tip right then left .. was hard enough it would slam me into DH shoulder .. I was scared to death!! My bis were sore from gripping the arm rests!! but once we were there .. BOY OH BOY did we have a time!

this vacation was a good as our Cabo vacation .. except instead of laid back and relaxing .. it was full speed ahead .. we visited about 13 casinos .. walked and walked .. but OMG .. THE FOOD .. I did not mind the diet .. and the only exercise I got was the massive walking we did .. but boy was it a blast!!:D

I lost my butt on the slots .. but made up for it on the dice at night .. the entire trip .. we did not have to pay for any of our food .. and my final tally was only about $200 down from what I brought for the entire trip .. if I would have quit Thursday .. I would have been 300 up from what I brought!! :D .. we saw The Jubilee show .. it was awesome .. didnt think DH would like it but he really enjoyed it .. could have been the fact that most of the girls was topless that helped!! }( ;-)

Anywho .. it is back to reality .. and back to the asylum and a PILE of undone work .. and class!! OMG .. I am gonna DIE tonight!! it has been over a week since I exercised .. I feel like I dont even remember the steps! LOL ...

Angie .. happy belated B-day! I have not caught up on the peronals but I take it you lost someone close to you .. so sorry for that!! My deepest sympathy! At least you managed to have a good B-day from DH and the boys though!!

Cathy .. good luck on the long run today .. it is HOT here .. 86 degrees and humid ...

Wendy .. sooooo what boardwalk?? did you take in AC and some gambling too???

Di .. I would go to a pro shop for your shoes .. sounds like you are having fit issues!! I have NEVER like New Balance .. what about a more pricy brand like Mununo ... or Asics (my fav) .. a good fitting shoe makes all the difference in the world!!

OK .. when I get a chance today I am gonna post some pics of our trip .. my friend has all the good night time pics .. of us dressed up .. I took the day time pics ... my camera is older and heavy .. too heavy to take out w/us at night ... (one less thing to keep up with) .. have a great day .. and great sweaty workouts .. LOL .. mine for sure will be .. sweating out food and NUMEROUS CABS!!:7

Laura,

Glad you had a good time on vaca. Sounds fab! I can't wait to go to LV next year!}( We went down the road to the little cr@ppy boardwalk in town. It's good for kids though. We are going to A/C the last weekend of May with my mom and her BF. We are going to see Tony and Tina's wedding while we are there. Should be fun! Hope class was not TOO torturous for you!;)

Hey Wendy ..

got some pics up of our trip .. the better ones my friend has .. and I will post them when she gets them to me .. mine are where we are hot and sweaty in the wind ... and consuming LOTS of CABS! :9

Have only ONE more hour before I inflict torture and pain on myself .. SIL taught one of my classes for me last week .. she whooped some booty I hear .. taught a kickboxing circuit .. she may have to take up my slack .. LOL ... b/c I feel like I have gained 20# .. LOL .. will be sweating out all that food and CABS for a WHILE!!!!:7

Diana ~ sorry about the ankle issues. Hitting the running store sounds like a good bet. That is a GREAT deal on the 305! Sweet! I have not seen it lower than $214. Glad you treated yourself to some goodies. :)

Wendy ~ oh yeah, the t'storms were quite real. I'm glad I trusted the forecasters on that one. I am one of those nuts who actually *enjoys* a good storm, but NOT when I'm caught outside in it. :p But it did put a little spring in my step last time that happened. *lol* Glad you are lovin' Afterburn. I'm not sure I can keep up with ANOTHER check-in, but I will try.

Laura ~ Good to hear you enjoyed yourselves in Vegas. Had to laugh about Jubilee. Looking forward to your pics.

Well, rain is threatening once again, but more importantly, the wind gusts are pretty powerful, so this dictates an indoor run. Wish me luck, girls. My mind just completely shuts down on that thing. :p :)

Have a great night!

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Cathy: So how was the dreadmill? :p Lots of folks actually find T-storms fascinating and enjoy watching them from some place "safe". I WANT to like them but I just can't. I am petrified! I have gotten a bit better over recent years but that's not saying much!:7
No worries about not being able to keep up with the check-ins. Do what you can. Perhaps checking in only once a day to all would make it easier? Then if you have time you can do more. I just happen to be a loser with a ton of time on my hands so I could be in 30 check-ins and still keep up! LOL :p

Hi girls

I'm exhausted! What a crappy Monday. I decided to take the dog into the vet....I didn't want to, b/c I dreaded the likely bad news. Well, 2 hours later, I got it. Kirby has a very large tumor in her abdomen. It's likely non-operable and cancerous. I had a hell of a time trying to keep myself under control at the vets office. She said we had 3 options. 1) keep her comfortable with pain meds and she'll likely have 1-3 months to live 2) Get an ultrasound ($250) that will determine if the tumor is on the spleen or the liver. If it's on the spleen and benign, it can be operated on and she'd like recover. If it's malignant or on the liver, there's nothing more they can do. 3) Do an exploratory surgery to see what is going on - which can be risky and she may not come out of it..... Great choices huh? We've opted to get an ultrasound to see what we're dealing with. I've got this pit in my gut telling me that it's cancer and it's spread everywhere. But, we need to know for sure.
After getting home late, I was gonna bag the w/o b/c I was a mess. But, I decided to take it out on Tony. I felt better afterwards so I'm glad I did it. CST and Great Body ABs is done.
I'm just mentally and physically exhausted. I'm hitting the sack early and sleeping in, if I can. Then tomorrow I have to start packing and getting ready for the weekend. Hopefully the weekend will bring some much needed relief of the morbidity of these past few days.
Thanks girls for the B-day wishes. It was less than festive with everything going on, and I'm totally dreading the big 4-0 next year. I've already threatened DH's life if he even contemplates throwing me a 40th B-day party.

Cathy - I love me a good storm too, but I doubt running in it would be much fun. Wanna go on vacation with the Twister Sisters??
Nope, haven't had a chance to do mario kart yet. Maybe sometime before 2009 hits.....
Hope the DM isn't too much of a downer for you. Did you get thru it?
So what other check in are you contemplating?

Diana - I still haven't looked at that link. Maybe tomorrow.
Do they make ankle supports? Would something like that work?
I'm drawing a blank for some reason, but did you and Amanda do that run yet or is this something coming up? I'm thinking it's on your agenda.

Wendy - Good luck with your new rotation. Tracking everything sure is a pain but it's the recommended thing to do for results.
I was reading "Better Than Steroids" in the car, and there are some really strict muscle building diets in there that are supposed to work wonders. I'm not sure I would be disciplined enough to follow them. He, like Venuto, recommends using the body fat calipers and measuring progress on a weekly basis along with tracking and measuring of foods. It sounds so NOT fun, but I'll bet the results are great.

Laura - Sorry about the bumpy ride but I don't think there's any getting around that. So glad you had fun. *lol* about Jubilee with DH.
While you were gone, my neighbor passed away. Then, well, the whole dog thing. Glad you are back.... I didn't have a very good time while you were gone. You can't leave again!!!
The pics of Vegas bring back some good memories. Oh yes, the large CAB glasses. I got mine at Freemont street. Did you go there? How about the shark reef at Mandalay Bay? I loved that!
Hey $200 down for a week in Vegas is not too bad. I'll bet you'll be back there again huh?

I'll chat with you gals tomorrow. I'm off to get some much needed ZZZZZZZZZ's.
