Morning All,

This morning I came in early so was only able to get in 4DS Kickbox. I'm planning on BM Upper Body x 2 (not the premix), and KM Leg Conditioning Drills. I will go through the upper body workout until I get to the abs, then go back and start the weight segment again. Finally finish with the abs. I received my KCM KB workout, and tried #1 on Sunday. I really enjoyed this workout, and next time will use my weighted gloves.

DD16 is heading out on Thursday for the state track meet. On Friday she set a personal best time of 59.3 in her leg of the 400 Relay. She was overjoyed. Now she just has to repeat that performance at state.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie - DD is doing fabulous! I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything goes well at State.

Quick post - I need to be leaving for Madison, oh, about now. ;) I'm taking my mom to see a wound specialist about the cuts on her feet and ankle which aren't healing due to her edema.

Friday night was PS CST. Saturday was 2 cardios I recorded from FitTV - Kendall Hogan and Tom Deters. Sunday was a 3 mile walk and PS SLA. Forgot how tough SLA is. Expecting major DOMS later today.

Hi to everyone else!

Laurie, here's wishing the best to your DD at state! You're workout for today looks tough!
I did LIC, hadn't done that in a long while. I'm doing some circuit and full body along with cardio after having finished STS. Cathe really works me, no matter what!

Sue, hope all goes well with your Mom. She's lucky to have you around! What is SLA?

Tomorrow I'm attempting a 5 mi run in prep for my 10K on Fri! We shall see:confused:

Lala - SLA is Strong Legs & Abs (part of the Pure Strength series) and it's a killer leg workout.

My mom is doing really well but they're making her do more things for herself like getting dressed and she doesn't like it because it's hard. I think it's good they push her a bit sometimes.

Did a Leslie 5 Mile workout tonight. I'm done with phase 1 of South Beach! :D Missed my carbs. Today I had 1/4 c. raspberries, an apple, 1/3 c. Fiber One and half a Quiznos flatbread. The flatbread was not so good but I was still in Madison for lunch so my sister bought chopped salads with chicken for us and the bread looked so good.

Morning All,

Well I got through only one round of BM2 Upper body last night. Just not enough time. And of course I was able to do the Leg Drills from KM. Today I have done BBC Fat Blaster Lower and a Mission Specialist Beg. Lower. If I have time after work I will get in P90X Legs only, and either Ab RipperX or Ab Ripper is it 100 or 200? All I know is it is only 10 min. Will see how much time the Legs only is, and that will determine what ab workout I will do. :D Yes I am going through a rotation that is leg heavy. Want to see what happens.

Sue, Do you get Exercise TV? They have some good workouts on there too. Yipee you can have some carbs! :D Can you feel the energy boost already? :D You are right it is good for them to push your Mom as much as she is able. Even though it is hard! ;)

Lala, You will do great on your 10K, I just can feel it. ;) I wish I could still do Cathe's step workouts. My knee just can't take the twisting. :( Sounds like you had fun with LIC though. :D

Speaking of food, I have been trying different "clean" recipes recently. Usually I'm the only one eating them. :( Well last night I made myself a sirloin steak, sweat potato and broccoli. DH looked at my plate, and then at his chicken/white potato. He asked why he wasn't getting what I was eating! Maybe I can start getting this man to eat healthy? I'm trying out a Guiona Broccoli Frittata recipe tonight. First time I've ever tried it so will see how it taste.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie - Yes, we have Exercise TV. I've tried a few workouts on there. They're pretty short as I recall. I should check it out again and see if they've added anything new. Yes, carbs good. Feeling the energy again. :D I understand why DH wanted your dinner. It sounds yummy! I love sweet potatoes. Is this a vegetarian recipe you're trying? I've been eating different meals from my family, too, with last week being low carb and this week avoiding white flour, pasta and potatoes. I found a website for South Beach recipes that looks pretty good.

Karen & Susan - Hope all is well with you gals. Miss you.

No workout yet today. I plan to do PS BBA (Back Biceps, Abs) tonight. The official weigh-in for SB is: 7 pounds lost in week 1 and 1 pound lost in week 2. A little disappointed I didn't lose more in week 2 but 7 pounds the 1st week is pretty remarkable so my body is probably still adjusting. Just have to keep consistent, right? ;) I WILL be drinking wine and eating wedding cake this weekend though. Gotta do it.

Today was a 5 mile run. But I am so tired, I think my body wants a rest week...after Sat!

Sue, is the Pure Strength series similar to GS or STS? It sounds like it's heavy weights. And 8 lbs in 2 weeks is superb! Thanks for the recipe site.

Laurie, let us know how the leg work goes, I was wondering as I was reading through your rotation about that ;) Where do you get your recipes? I pretty much stick to cookinglight, but yours sound delish!

Hi to all, hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful week!

Hi Ladies! I'm here! :D We have been having computer/server problems here plus too many end of the school year projects to work on! The next 2 weeks we have baseball 2 nights and soccer 2 nights. I will be so happy when school is out!

My runs over the weekend did not happen. I have been going 120% since last week. Have not even sat down to relax and am running on empty! Saturday I must have needed to sleep cause I overlslept by 2 hours! I did manage to get a long walk in Saturday and Monday but that's it.

Today I ran 5 miles and walked 3 miles. I hope to get up early enough to run 5 again tomorrow. I am aiming at trying to run 7 on Saturday. I'll be thinking of you, Lala!! ;) Need to work in my pilates abs workout too.

Laurie, congrats to your DD! She is doing awesome! Hope she has fun at State!

Sue, glad you are enjoying carbs again. Hope you continue to see results! You are doing great. I too slowed down the weight loss in week 2. It must the bodies way of "holding on". :)

Take care ladies!

Susan

Lala - I think PS is like GS. I try to go as heavy as I can so it's pretty tough. DS12 looked at the tv and asked if the workout I was doing was from the 80s! LOL I think it's because of Cathe's headband. Can't compare it to STS since I don't own that one. And now with the $300 price tag doubt I will ever own it. :( That's okay though. I have so many strength dvds as it is.

Susan - I can't wait for school to be out, too. Don't sweat the workouts. I'm sure all the running around you're doing is keeping you busy but you'll find time to fit your workouts in again.

Morning All,

Today was BBC Fat Blaster Upper, and Mission Specialist Lower. Tonight I'm going to try KCM's 30 Min. Weights Shoulders & Arms. Oh! it is Ab Ripper 200! That is what I did last night.

Sue, Thanks for the link. Will have to check that one out. Keep up the good work on your eating, and I'm sure you will be seeing a change quickly. Of course you need the wine and cake! We all still need a treat now and then.

Lala, WTG on the run even though you where tired. I really liked doing P90X Legs only. I just hit the skip button when the back work came up, and I did skip the water break. I am looking at doing mostly unweighted leg work (like P90X), Plyo, BBC and the Results. Just to see is this will work for shaping my legs. This is my first week of this so we will see. I rip out recipes from Oxygen/Fitness/Women's Health etc. The frittata last night was good, and DD12 liked it too. The only thing is I did burn it a little to much, but I just scraped it off. :D

Susan, I am in the same boat as you. Can't wait for June 6th when the girls are done. No more running around! LOL! WTG on your run too! :D

Well I have to get going to a meeting!

Laurie

Hello!

I got up early enough today to run 5 miles and then take Ruby. After school I have to help DS with his book report and then he has a soccer game. His team won their baseball game last night 10-2! They were very happy! He told me this morning he is going to score some goals tonight! ;)

I am really liking this running! I notice that I have lost body fat especially around my mid section/back. My rear is smaller too. Now that's an incentive to keep at it!:D

Hope you all are able to get out and enjoy the beautiful day!

Take care- Susan

Laurie - Is Ab Ripper 200 the one where you do lots of hanging ab work? If so, I tried doing that once but got too frustrated. #1 because it's hard and #2 because my pullup bar doesn't face the tv so I couldn't keep up running back and forth between the tv to see what he is doing and the bar. Maybe one day I'll figure it out.

Susan - You are doing so well on your running! Glad it's working for you. Good job to DS on winning his baseball game! My kids' games haven't started yet. Friday is DS' first game but he'll miss it because he'll be in Denver with me.

This morning I did a 1 mile Leslie Sansone. I hope (crossing my fingers) to get in cardio tonight but DD has art class so it's either wait until after I've picked her up or try to do something after I drop her off which doesn't give me a lot of time. I'll figure something out I'm sure.

Hi,

Today I ran 7 miles and did stretchmax. Decided to do Cathe's June rotation but switched some days and workouts around a bit.

Lala, I am sure you will do well in your race this weekend. You are ready. Have fun.

Laurie, sounds like another good rotation. Congrats to DD. She just keeps getting better and better. I tried your lasagna recipe last week. It was wonderful.

Susan, you are really logging in some great miles running. YOu should be ready for your 1/2 marathon when you decide to do it. congrats to DS baseball team. It is so much fun to win.

Sue, congrats on the weight loss. Glad you found something that works and you can stick with. Haven't done PS in a long time. I'll have to pull it out again. The old ones are goodies.

Take care.

Morning All,

This morning and last night I didn't get in a workout. DH bought himself a Birthday truck! We went last night to test drive a used '07 Toyota Tacoma with around 40,000 miles. It was a really nice truck, at a decent price. So he is now a proud owner of a silver truck! :) All I know is that my mini van will no longer be hauling tools! :D DD16 will be heading to the state track meet this afternoon, and I will probably go on Saturday. After we got home last night I had to make puppy chow for her. What we do for our children! :)

So after work I will be getting in KCM 30MTFW Shoulders & Arms, and the BBC Mission Specialist Adv Abs. I wanted to get to the gym for an interval bike workout, but that might not happen. :(

Susan, That is the area that I always noticed when running also. Hmmm a 30 min. interval run after my workout might be just the ticket! ;) WTG on getting in your miles. I have not done an outdoor run yet, so it just might be time.

Sue, Ab Ripper 200 is with the P90 series, and it is all crunch type exercises. 10 exercises, 20 reps that clocks in at about 5-6 min. The one you are thinking of is from the P90X+ series (abs/core). Yes that workout was frustrating for me also. I need a lot more work on the bar for hanging, and I am in that mood right now that says WHY! :D Getting in those workouts in the morning is good, when you know you have something brewing in the evenings. That is why I get in my 20-30 min interval workout. Even thought they use bands/light weights I still feel like I worked out. Might be cheating, but that is my mood right now. :D

Karen, Glad you liked that recipe. WTG on the 7 mile run! I have not looked at her current rotation, so will have to check that one out.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning All,

Everyone must have had a very busy day yesterday. :) Or just enjoyed the weather! Today's workout was TaeBo Live Advanced #2. Last night I did KCM's Weights Shoulders and Arms. LOVE this workout. I would never have thought I could do tricep kickbacks with a 15 lb weight! I didn't feel drained or sore this morning, not until about half way through my TaeBo workout. :) Toward the end of the workout Billy had us squatting with our arms out in front of us. My shoulders where so tired that I had to take a break! Right now I have comfortable DOMS. I will be keeping the 30MTF workout in my rotation. ;) Oh I did the ab workout, and it was way different than anything I have done before. Similar to Tony and Cathe, but done in a different way. Hope that makes sense.

DD12 received a certificate for perfect attendance at school. I was very proud of her, and didn't even realize that she didn't have a sick day during the whole year! :D

Tomorrow I will be heading out to the meet as early as possible, and then I hope to get in a workout after I get home. If I do it will be BBC Extreme 1000, and BBC Belly Blaster.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi there! It's Friday! Only 4 days of school left! Yippee!!

Yesterday I was only able to walk Ruby cause I over slept and then my day was a busy, busy one! Today I did not get my run in. I was up late trying to get things done around here and too tired after only 4 hours of sleep! I am going to do a blend of Pilates and strength training after work today. I plan on going for a 6 mile run tomorrow morning! Sunday, will most likely be the elliptical.

Laurie, hope your DH likes his truck! My DH would love a Toyota 4WD, extended cab, if you'd like to get him one while you're at it! ;) I myself would like to get a Toyota Sienna or a Honda Odyssey! I was told I have to wait about 1-2 more years though.:(

Kids are in a little fishing tournament here tomorrow morning and then we have a graduation party to go to in the afternoon. Sunday will be spent playing catch-up with the chores!

Take care ladies!! Susan
