Morning All,

Todays workout was JM's Shred 2 & 3. Saturday was BBC Fat Blaster Lower and a BBC Lower Advanced. Sunday I didn't workout at all. :D See how I feel after work, might get in a workout at the gym too.

DD16's BF is going up north with us this weekend. Got to know him a little better on Friday, and he seems like a very nice guy. Guess we will get to know him even better, but wonder how he is going to handle ALL of my family! :D

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Laurie

Hi,

Didn't work out over the weekend. Enjoyed soccer tournament on Sun. in Minnesota. Our family went and had a picnic, and played in the park between soccer games. We ate ate Dairy Queen and had kettlecorn. It was so beautiful.

Today was my last day of babysitting so after I got home, I picked up DD18 from school(sick), and then did Lauren Kettlebell workout.

Laurie, have fun this weekend. Sounds like a good time to get to know DD new BF. What grade is he in? Are BBC workouts worth getting? Are they hard enough? You don't do to much kickboxing anymore do you?

Have a great day all.

Morning All,

This morning my workout was TaeBo Celebrity Fit Cardio. I will get in the TaeBo Bootcamp Abs workout after work.

Karen, Sounds like you and your family had a nice weekend. Yes I am still kickboxing. I try to get in at least one or two of them per week. The BBC workouts are a lot like 10 Days to a better body. If you didn't like Barry yelling in the first workout, he is the same way. I like the workouts. There are two DVD's one upper and one lower. Each has a 20 min circuit workout just like 10 days. Then they both have the same additional workouts of a Beg & Adv for Abs, Lower Body and Upper Body. Those workouts are each 12 min. They do use the tubing, and I think that you get two or three tubes with the set. If you use the black band you are fried (at least for the upper body). I get DOMS in my thutt area when I do the lower body work. I actually like the pill shaped transformer more than a stability ball. I think because it is more stable, so I feel I get a better workout. All of the workouts show a beg/Interm/Adv person. Hope that helps you some. To tell the truth I have been a little fried on Cathe cardio. I just don't know why. :( I have been enjoying Cindy, Barry (which is also Cindy), Billy Banks and Jillian lately. I have this dread factor going on about starting STS! I'm thinking of cancelling my STS Cardio, because it just sounds way to intense for me. The only thing I really want is the Boxing/KB workouts.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good Morning,

Today I will go for a tandem group ride. Just really tired, so I won't do anything else.

Laurie, can you give me a sample of your rotation again? Are you getting results you want by using the videos you mentioned? I've been eyeing up the Barry's, don't mind his yelling. His original workouts are just to intense. I guess I am toning down the cardio also. Didn't order STS cardio for the same reasons you may not be. Thanks for the info on the workouts.

Have a good day.

Karen, I started out with the following rotation. I am like a day behind on my rotation, and I did a BBC Ab workout on one day last week. I have also done more cardio after work at the gym & home(bike/jumprope/running). But with this rotation it doesn't seem like to much, because the weights are not killing you. I have noticed I have an all around a better shape. My core seems to be much stronger doing these type of workouts. Most of the workouts do involve the core. It can be my imagination (because I have not measured yet), but my thighs seem to be looking better. The other thing is the shoulders. When I look at where my bra strap sits on my shoulder, I can see that I have definition. There is a noticable place for the strap. Not that I didn't have definition before, but it just seems more pronounced. Does that make any sense! :D I have been feeling lately that I don't need to kill myself, when all I really want to do is look toned. Why do I need to lift 40# weights for bicep curls? I have been feeling fine doing push-ups, lots of bicep curls with lower weights. Granted, I will up the weights from what Jillian is using. 3# for biceps curls  I use anywhere from 8-15 lbs depending on the speed. With the last rotation I had been doing (following Cindy's book) I was getting neck pain and didn't know why! Stopped doing that rotation and wha la pain gone. It may be that my body enjoys the light weight/cardio more that the heavy weights. I know when I was doing P90X, that my biceps got so big I couldn't fit some of my shirts. Now I can fit those shirts again, so nope I don't need big muscles! :D. Hope this has been a help for you. Laurie

Susan - I was cleaning and found a copy of a South Beach diet book that I bought awhile ago and never tried. I figured it was fate so made the decision to start yesterday. Giving up carbs for 2 weeks will be difficult but I'm already down 3 pounds so that helps keep me motivated. It's not as hard to eat this way as I thought it'd be. I even went to Uno's yesterday with my department and had a salad with chicken and dressing on the side. Couldn't eat the breadstick or carrots in the salad but it was still good and filling. The hardest part of the day was when DH sat on the coach next to me eating a huge bowl of strawberry shortcake last night. I gave him a nasty look and he caught on right away. Smart man - that's why I married him. :) Anyway, thanks for being my inspiration on this! I probably wouldn't have tried it if you hadn't written about it.

Laurie - Hurray for the shoulder definition, thinner thighs and stronger core! All good things. ;) I'm not familiar with a lot of workouts in your rotation so can't comment but I do admire the fact that you always have a plan. I just do whatever I feel like and have time for. One of these days I'll get back to a formal rotation again. One of these days. . .

Hi, Karen! Enjoy your tandem ride. The weather should be beautiful for it.

On Saturday I did Slo Mo Chest, Bis and Tris; Sunday was Janis Saffel's Kick It (1 segment) plus a few Imax2 blasts; Monday was Slo Mo Back and Shoulders plus 1 mile walk. Today I helped with the flower delivery at work. (Our company has a flower sale every year and asks for volunteers to help unload and pick orders.) It's a lot of fun and it gets me away from my desk for a few hours. It's a little bit of a workout, too, with all the walking and bending over. I'll try to do some cardio tonight, too.

My mom fainted 2x at the Rehab Center on Friday so they took her to the ER and ran all sorts of tests. Turns out they had upped her blood pressure medication because it was so high when she first checked in and they increased it too much. I went to visit her on Saturday at the Rehab Center (not drug rehab ;-) ) and she looked really good. She sees the Ortho tomorrow to make sure her dislocated shoulder is okay.

Hi gang! Sorry I forgot to check-in yesterday! Our computer or our server has been acting up the past couple days!:(

Sue, I am so glad you are trying SB! I know the first few days are the hardest but it's worth it. I am down 10 pounds and all my pants are looser. The only starchy carb I have added back in is some Brownberry bread I found. It's 100% whole wheat with 7 grams of protein and only 18grams of carbs per slice. It tastes great too. I have a slice with my breakfast and my lunch. Good luck to you!!

Laurie, looks like you are really enjoying that rotation. I too am a big fan of kickboxing! I have never tried BBC but I might just look into it! I hope you and your family don't frighten the new BF! :)

Karen, enjoy your ride! It's beautiful today!

Well, I did not "workout" this weekend but I did do a lot of yard work which had me sweating! Yesterday was a 35mn walk and pilates for 50mn. Today I woke early and did the elliptical for 45mn and I think I'll walk to my DS baseball practice (2 miles) later. My DH will drive my DS! ;)

You all have a great night! We bought a new tent yesterday and I think we might try to set it up in the back yard to make sure we like it before we take it camping this weekend!

Susan

Hi gang,

We went 50 miles yesterday. Boy were my legs hurting. Thankfully they are fine today. I did KCM bootcamp both workouts today.

Laurie, I think you would like KCM bootcamp. It is similar to the set up in the results workout. I am starting your rotatin next week. I just plugged in some of my dvds that I think fit into your rotation as I don't have any Jillian workouts or BBC either.

Sue, haven't done Slo Mo in a long time. How did you like it? glad they figured out what was up with your mom and she is fine now. Glad you found a good eating program you can stick with. I am no good at eating healthy.

susan, have fun with your tent. Hope you like it. It was a beautiful weekend for some yard work. Always a good workout.

Take care and enjoy the windy day.

Morning All,

Today was Results 10 Days Lower, and BBC Lower Beg. Plan on getting in a BBC Lower Adv. and BBC Booty Camp workouts after work. Guess I feel like working that lower body today. :D The TaeBo Bootcamp Abs was a good workout last night, and only lasted 35 min. Talk about working the abs though!

Sue, Your poor Mom sure has gone through a lot since Mother's Day hasn't she. WTG on the start of SB Diet. My DH does the same thing, and it just kills me. That is when the evil eye comes into play! :D I can't seem to workout without a plan. Can't say that I don't abandon them when I get bored, but I still start out with one. So far this one has not become boring.

Susan, Oh yard work does count as a workout. :D In fact I use it as recreational cardio. Anything that makes me sweat is a workout.:D WTG on the 10 lbs of weight loss.

Karen, Thanks for the infor on KCM, I will look into those and her Kickboxing workout also. I'm going to cancel my STS cardio order, so I will have some $ to spend on other workouts. ;) I want to get TaeBo Amped also. :D Wow 50 miles! Lets say you had just done in a straight line, would you have made it to Eau Claire?

Have a great day!

Laurie

Susan - I'll have to look for that Brownberry bread. 7 grams of protein per slice is great. We usually buy Natural Ovens bread which I love and I think it's 4 or 5 grams of protein. It has flax and Omega-3, too. Going strong on day 3 of SB! I get hungry at night but don't have the cravings I used to for sweets.

Karen - I like Slo Mo a lot. Different exercises and I'm always sore the next day. I think my legs would be sore after 50 miles on a bike, too - not to mention my butt! :p

Laurie - I think I missed something - who is giving whom the evil eye? I'm hoping to inspire my DH to try SB because his diet is terrible! He has a spare tire to lose but I'm more concerned about his cholesterol. I know if he stopped eating all the junk food and started exercising more consistently he wouldn't need medication which he recently started.

I did segments 1 & 2 of Rhythmic Step last night. It was fun. Wished I had time to do more. This morning I did some crunches, lunges and squats on my own and then turned on Fit TV and did the first 15 min. of Gilad's show. Only worked out for about 25 min. but it felt good. I want to get outside for a walk/jog tonight.

Hi All!

Today was a 4.5 mile run and then a 3 mile walk. DS has a soccer game tonight but I want to sneak some ab work in before hand!

Sue, the bread's called "Brownberry Grains&More Double Protein". At night I tend to munch on some almonds to get rid of my "crunch" craving or some celery with peanut butter! Hope your DH decides to give it a try. My Dh won't do it though.:( However, he can lose weight just by thinking about it!

Laurie, you are really working that lower body today, aren't you? ;) Hope you don't feel it too badly in the morning!

Karen, 50 miles??????????? Man, oh,man, my legs and rear would be sore I would not be walking for the rest of the week! LOL:D Way to go!

This weather is making me awfully anxious for Summer!!

Have a great night! Susan

Hi everyone! Wow, Wednesday already! Finished STS last week, so this week is pretty much dedicated to cardio M: lowmax, T: KCM kickbox, today a 4 mile run. Getting ready for a 10K the first weekend of June...hope I can make it!

Laurie, your rotation looks really good...I don´t have any of those workouts. It seems like your finding that you´re responding to more cardio. Have fun this weekend at the cabin.

Sue, I still have to get out in my little garden. My inlaws have the "big" one and I just plant some flowers.

Susan, keep it up on SB! I think the first week is always the hardest...and don´t think that I could ever give up carbs:eek:

Karen, nice biking weather, finally! Has it been windy by you? That makes is all the harder...no need to tell you that ;)

DD20 graduated from LAX this past weekend, so we were there. It was so nice. She is now job hunting.

Enjoy this beautiful weather!

Hello!:D

Lala, congrats again to your DD! How exciting! I hope she is able to find a job she enjoys quickly!

Slept in today, I was feeling a bit sore all over. I just took Ruby for her walk. Beautiful morning! I will be doing Cathe's Bootcamp later.

DS won their soccer game last night. It was so windy though! The ball kept wanting to fly back when it was being kicked forward! They had fun!

Looks like a nice weekend ahead. We're going camping with friends. It should be a good time. They just put in a huge hot tub right outside the deck of their permanent camp site. They have like a camper/house. It's crazy! Don't know if I am ready to put on the swimsuit though! ;)

Have a great day! Susan

Morning All,

No workout for me yet (have to leave house early to drop Cami off at doggie daycare), but after work is Kickbox Strike Zone (may change my mind). I had not done the BBC Booty Camp workout until yesterday, and even though it seemed like an easy workout, I could feel it in my booty! Or maybe I just really worked the booty good yesterday!

Sue, Sorry about that! I give the evil eye to DH when he is chomping on food (like right after we have eaten a meal!). My DH needs to watch what he eats, but just doesn't want to do anything about it. One of these days I'm hoping it will change.

Lala, Good luck to your DD on her job search. I'm actually having a lot of fun with these workouts. I'm even contemplating getting in a few Cathe and Tony's. ;)

Susan, Congrats to your DS on the win. When are you leaving for your camping trip? Sounds like it will be fun. Have fun with bootcamp, that is one of the workouts that I was going to put in my rotation.

Have a great day!
Laurie

Susan - I'm right there with you - anxious for summer! I like your friend's style of camping. And I bet you look great in a swimsuit after losing your weight with SB. ;) If you're still a little self-conscious here's my trick - I bought a pair of nylon shorts that match my suit and I wear those. They dry quickly and cover my "jiggly bits".

Lala - Congratulations and good luck to your DD on her job search. Does she want to stay in the same area she went to school or where you live or move somewhere else? What an exciting time for her and your family.

Laurie - I'm picturing that evil eye. I'm sure it was the same one I gave DH when he ate a huge bowl of strawberry shortcake in front of me the other night. Actually, I'll bet my look was meaner! LOL Sadly, we can't convince them to change their eating habits. They have to make up their minds themselves.

Walked 3 miles last night (2 with DH). I'm on day 4 of South Beach and lost 5 pounds already. I have a ways to go but I'm tickled pink it's working. Will do some sort of workout tonight - depends what I'm in the mood for.

My mom's visit with the Ortho went fine as far as her arm is considered. He was more concerned about the stitches in her foot which are not healing properly because of her poor circulation and edema in her foot and ankle. Told my sister "her sore has been drastically untreated and needed attention stat". They've been changing the bandages but that's about it. She is supposed to see a wound specialist and my sister spoke to the staff at the Rehab Center as soon as she and my mom got back from the Ortho. She should have a Dr. and nurse assigned to her case at the Center but it looks like they dropped the ball on this. Time to knock some heads around I and get Mom the attention she needs.

Today ended up being an unscheduled rest day, but it sure felt good! thanks for all the well wishes for DD. She love big cities and would love to move to Chicago or overseas maybe. she´s pretty open

Sue: hope things get worked out with your mom. It can be so hard. Patients really do need advocates. You had a beautiful day for a walk.

Laurie, is your strike zone with Tracy Staehle? How do you like it? I´ve been eyeing that lately.

Susan, Another congrats here for DS. I bet that wind really did some ball controlling! The camping sounds like my kind! And I´m sure you look great in a swimsuit.

Karen, did you get a bike ride in? I was expecting rain up here, but it turned into a nice day after all.
Have a wonderful Memorial weekend all!

Morning All,

Last night I did do Kickbox Strike Zone, and used my weighted gloves. I really enjoyed it, but forgot that some of her cueing isn't that great (not horrible though). Doesn't matter, I caught on pretty quickly. This morning was Results 10 Days and BBC MS Advanced Upper. Will get in BFBM tomorrow morning before we leave, and then Sunday will be an off day. Planning on leaving early on Monday morning from the cabin. :)

Lala, The KB Strike Zone is by Janis Saffell. Very good workout though. I have one of Tracey's kb workouts. Can't remember right now which one it is, but isn't one I pull out very often.

Sue, Do you have the KB workout I mentioned above? When we got to the strength exercises in this one, I was thinking how it would be nice to have a bag to do the kicking and punching work. So this made me wonder if you had this DVD. If you don't you might want to check it out. Sounds like you are getting your Mom the help she needs. WTG ;)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Laurie

Hello BB's!

Well, I overslept today!:( I knew I would when I saw the clock before going to bed. I told my Dh " I have a feeling I am going to over sleep tomorrow". Well, I was still able to get Ruby's walk in, just not my run. After school I have an appointment for my DS and his ADD medication. Then I have to run around and get stuff for camping. I am going to try and get some pilates in cause my back is bothering me and I could use the stretching. Saturday I will wake up and go for a run. I want to go for 5 miles which will be longer than I have been doing. Wish me luck! Sunday since we will be camping, I will just go for a walk. They have a nice path that I take Ruby on for about 30-45mn. Monday will most likely be an "off" day!

Laurie, I have previewed some of Janis's workouts and I did not like her cuing. Glad oy u had fun though. What weight are your weighted gloves? Mine are a pound a piece but I think I am going to up it...

Hope all you ladies have a great weekend! Enjoy!!:D

Susan
