Hi, Sherry! Great workout! What did DH think? Is this the first time he's done a Cathe workout??? I hope he sticks it out and finds her as motivating as we women do!
OK....warning: this post is long. I've got a lot to put out there for you all, and I just can't keep it short. Read it if you want, don't if you're not up to it!
It's just an update on me and my life.
Here goes (I'm actually copying and pasting it since I am sending this to a few different email groups and check ins! LOL):
First, this morning's workout was Leaner Legs. I'm starting a mini 6-week challenge for myself to just focus on CONSISTANT clean eating and workouts. 6 weeks takes me/us to the RT.
I’ve been MIA since Friday, and I apologize. We’ve been super busy with quite a few things. Let me catch you up (humor me here)!
My internet was down from Sunday morning right until Monday morning, so I couldn’t get caught up yesterday at all!
Friday night was my friend’s mom’s viewing service. It was a beautiful service. Jacob went with us, so I was glad when I realized it there wasn’t a casket-viewing. Rather, she was cremated and they had the urn there on a mini altar with tons of pictures and things. She loved frogs, and the family had a table FILLED with hundreds of frogs and they encouraged everybody to take one to remember Kay. At the memorial service on Sunday, we learned that frog was not only her favorite animal and story (it all started with the Frog Prince story), but FROG is an acronym for Fully Rely On God. The message during the homily was just that…how Kay put her full faith in God and her ministry (she and her DH were/are Moravian minsters, as are one of their 4 DDs and 1 of their 2 DSIL). (got all that so far? lol). So I had a very emotional time between the 2 services. At one point, during one of the hymns, I broke down in tears. I can’t explain it well, but it was a part of a very touchy song when the congregation was singing the song with no organ or choir….the words and the sheer strength coming from the ‘crowd’, and memories of Kay, and memories of Jeff (DH) just flooded back to me and I broke down. The funny part came, though, when my best friend handed me a paper towel that was like 2 feet long! It was all any of us had in the way of tissues! LOL It broke the tension, to say the least.
Saturday night, SO and I had his DD and her cousin babysit my boys, and he and I went back to the casinos in The Poconos for a bit of adult fun. We hit a severe T-storm on the way there, and when we got there, they had partial power. The machines were about the only thing running! All the restaurants were closed, the a/c and venting systems were down, and the lights were all out in the bathrooms. It was hot and smoky! Since we planned on eating at the buffet there, we were bummed and STARVING! So we gambled a bit, then went back onto the road to get dinner at a steak house. When we got back to the casino at 10:30, they had shut the entire casino down because the power kept cycling on and off, and it was getting unsafe because the temp inside was too high! So we had an early night!
Sunday was busy. We started out at SO’s ex’s house for a cook-out. Then Jacob had a basketball game at 3pm, and a scrimmage game for his traveling all-star baseball team at 5:30pm! SHEESH! Think I’m done yet? Nope! We then went BACK to SO’s ex’s house for more swimming! lol I’m tired just re-typing the past few days’ events!
The kids only have today and Tuesday for half-days, then SCHOOL WILL BE OUT!!! YAHOO!!!!
Now, as the summer is pretty much here and school is out in just 2 days, I will give you the heads-up that I may be hit or miss from here on out. Our summer is just filled with relaxing stuff from start to finish. But this summer, as you know, I’ll be working that summer reading program at the school in July. The kids and I just wing it each day. Sometimes we spend the entire day at the public pool, some days at friends’ houses, sometimes just having a house full of kids at my home. We have season passes to the local water park and amusement park (with the big roller coasters all 3 of us LOVE), so there are many days that we spend every minute there. So…………..don’t worry about me if I’m not posting on a regular basis. Sometimes I just lurk the boards to get caught up, but don’t have (or take) time to post personally.
One last thing….my older DS (Jacob) is having problems with his shoulder. On his throwing arm. As in his PITCHING arm. UGH! I just made an appointment with our Primary Care Doc for a referral for an MRI/xray. I’m scared. I really am. He throws hard, and is the fastest pitcher in our league at our level….his speeds come in at 54 mph. He throws a LOT. You can always find him outside in our driveway throwing into the pitch-back. But now he’s hurting and I’m scared. I’m trying not to jump to conclusions, so we’ll start with his appt this afternoon and go from there. This is effecting his regular baseball team (which has 1 more game this week then the play-offs next week…we’re in 3rd place in the league) AND his all-star traveling team. We told those coaches last night before the scrimmage. It’s a tough call on the coach’s part too, because Jacob is one of the best hitters so you can’t afford to lose his batting, but the only position he can really play without having to throw all that much is 1st base….and that’s the head coach’s son’s spot (see coach’s dilemma? LOL).
ANYWAY….sorry to ramble about me. I just wanted to catch you all up on my goings-on.
