Default Smokey!!

I went for a good hike this morning. I got a 450 cal. burn in. Between 11 am and 2 pm, the washing machine will arrive. Tomorrow will be another Cathe workout. It has been super smokey outside. I am so glad that some of the fires have been contained.

The other day, I bought and enjoyed some 'Sunflower Sprouts'. Apparently, many people that eat raw enjoy them. I tried them sauteed with some peas and they were so tasty. They taste like sun chokes or jerusalem artichokes. I just really enjoyed them. They have nearly no calories but are full of vitamins. They have stringy stems that are tender when cooked. I used them in place of pasta. Watch out for some of the pods though, they don't get tender when cooked and are nearly impossible to chew.

Jane-Flipping tires sounds like fun. I am definitely getting myself a foam roller. No more putting it off. My right foot is bugging me and I'm pretty sure that a roller will help. The Killer Tomatoes movie sounds like a hoot.

Tricia- Never worry about doing a 'rotation' thats just a way to keep from missing a body part or doing too many workouts in a row that are the same. They can be fun or they can be oppressive. I'm in more of a 'workout as I can' flow right now.

TGIF!!

That was one crazy workout last night. It was tough but I think the heat made it harder.

Here is tonight's workout.

100 KB Swings
200 meter plate/med ball run
200 meter run

Sit-Ups
200 meter plate/med ball run
200 meter run

100 Squats
200 meter plate/med ball run
200 meter run

200 Jump Rope
200 meter plate/med ball run
200 meter run

Alisha ~ I'm glad to hear that some of the fires have been contained. I will have to try Sunflower Sprouts. They sound interesting.

Any interesting plans for the weekend?

Happy Saturday ladies!

Alisha - Too funny! Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! I've seen that move! I was thinking The Blob would be more appropriate though!

Glad they're getting the fires contained! How are things going with your dad's truck?

I haven't sprouted my sunflower seeds yet, but now I'm going to have to! They sound really yummy!

Great going with your workouts!

Jane - Oh, man! Wish I could be there to do the zombie run with you! Sounds like so much fun! I looked up that powdery stuff and now can't remember what it's called. I'm going to try a vinegar and water mix and see how that works. Have to wait for the rain to stop so it won't wash right off. They are going crazy though, so I don't think it's going to hinder veggie production.

As always, your workouts amaze me. I still need a foam roller. I've noticed my hamstrings getting tighter and my range of motion getting lower from sitting at work so much and not working out. Hoping getting back into the swing will help.

I did GS Chest & Tris today, Turbo Fire HIIT 15 and my 1 min. jump squat challenge. I was crying during parts of GS. My forearms were killing me even though I never really grip my weights. I just wrap my palms around them and keep my fingers loose. The workout was painful in more ways than just my muscles. I don't remember it being quite this hard before. I'm just going to have to go slow and focus on one workout at a time until I build back up.

Well, right before I got on to update, Stephen said the truck driver called and will have the boat here on Monday morning! That was fast! The estimate was for Wednesday! It's so exciting! I'll try to get some pictures to post for you. Of course, it'll be in pieces until next spring. I have a couple of stock photos from the web site it was on while up for sale that I'll try to get on too. Stephen says it's a lot prettier in person than in the pics.

We'll be able to take vacations on the boat that won't cost anything because we won't need a hotel or gas for a car.

Well, my arms are shaking like crazy and I'm tired now. Going to read a bit, have some lunch, then go to the grocery.

No great plans this weekend, but I'm on vacation next week, so going to relax, get those workouts in, do some surfing, golfing and stuff and just try to enjoy some sunshine!

Have a great day! Check in tomorrow with the latest on workouts if I'm not crying from DOMS!

I may not get my workout today after all. My right foot is hurting a bit. I'm going to buy those shoes and the foam roller today. I meant to stop yesterday but my Mom and I went to the movies instead. We saw Snow White and the Huntsman at the second run theater. I was good, I did not over eat on popcorn. The weather is a bit cooler.

Alisha - Sorry about your foot! Hope it's better by tomorrow! Glad the movie was good! I want to see that one too. We cooled off over hear a bit, but we'll be back in the 80s again this week. It was nice while it lasted, but I won't complain about the warm weather because it'll be really cold again soon enough and will last a long time!

I did GS Legs today. Laid off of the bonus rounds though since I'm starting over. I'm sure my legs will still be complaining tomorrow! Even with the use of really light weights, my chest and tris are really sore today from GS yesterday. Ugh. This stinks.

Tomorrow will probably be a rest day. Give my upper body another recovery day before I hit back, shoulders and biceps. Besides, we have to go to the marina and check out the boat. Make sure it arrived okay and get some things off before they shrink wrap it for winter storage.

I'm exhausted from my workout again and could have used a nap! Watched Dr. Who instead!

Have a nice Sunday evening! See you tomorrow!

Hi Jane!

I went for a hike this morning, I got a 600 cal. burn in. I plan to do some yoga this afternoon. I plan to spend the day doing chores and studying.

Tomorrow will be a Cathe at 0'dark hundred before I go to a seminar on management for first time supervisors. I'm not supervising anyone right now, but I figure its a good idea to get out of the house.
We did get my Dad's truck back, its fine now.

Tricia- I love Dr. Who!! Good job on your workouts.

Jane- How was your weekend?

Morning Alisha!

Glad you got a nice hike in! Training can't hurt! Yay, the truck runs again!

We got the boat! It arrived a couple of days early. Stephen went and met the truck at the marina yesterday morning to watch the unload, then he picked me up and we unwrapped the mast (the marina would charge for time to do it) and unloaded all the sails and anything we wouldn't want to get wet and/or freeze over winter. They will shrink wrap the boat, but it can still get some water and it's outside, so the temps will freeze. That was fun moving all those sails to the car, then into the house and down into the basement! A nice functional workout for me yesterday!

My DOMS is much better so I should get GS back, bis and shoulders done today. We're playing golf this morning, then the pups need rabies shots and Milo has to have his regular blood work to test his liver function and phenobarb levels this afternoon. That'll be my day.

Well, I'm off to get a bath so we can hit the links! Have a good day you two!

Well...I'm back...even though I didn't go anywhere. Let me try to catch up.

Saturday I did a kettlebell upper body workout. Ouch! My arms were shaking like crazy after that one.

Sunday was a long, slow and humid 10 mile run. It wasn't the best run but I got it done. I was really, really tired on Sunday so I laid low.

Monday - 51st birthday..yikes...how did that happen. I took the day off and went shopping with mom and my twin sister. I didn't workout...had cake and pizza and some other naughty stuff.

Today I will be doing a leg workout.

Only 4 more days of work and then I'm off to the beach on Sunday for a week of doing nothing. Please pray for good weather...or anything but a hurricane as there is a storm way out there. I think it will be around Cuba on Sunday and then it's anyone's guess where it is going. So...say some prayers that it stays away from the Big Bend region of the Gulf.

Tricia ~ The Gym Style workouts are HARD!!! I always got DOMS with that workout. Congrats on the boat. Have fun playing golf today.

Alisha ~ I'm glad you got a hike in. Enjoy your Tuesday!

I did not go to my seminar, my brother is not feeling well. I did get up and do Cathe's 28 min. Yoga Relax premix. I plan to do a step workout this afternoon.

I need to check online to see if there are any job openings locally.

Jane- Great job on your workouts. Happy Birthday!!! I will pray for good weather.

Tricia- Congrats on getting your boat. That definitely qualifies as a good workout.

I did Step Works. I love that workout. Its not modern, its just good, clean, hard cardio. Its a real sweat fest. Tomorrow will be a run/walk plus some yoga.
