JUNE! It's JUNE already!
We've got a solid 3 weeks till our goal date of the 21st, the first day of summer!
How did your weekend go, ladies?
What's TODAY's goal?

To use The Biggest Loser's theme song:

What will you do today to make you feel proud???

I have to be super quick.

Workout done! An iTread and Core Max 1.

Baseball game yesterday was loads of fun. Older DS caught a homerun ball! lol He really did! Funny thing is this is the second ball he's caught....last year he caught a foul ball! Lucky kid with a good catch! :) Then we came home and I cut the grass (double yuck), then I crashed. The grass put me over the edge. Food was 'ok'. I had a bit of everything instead of one big thing....I pretty much ate younger DS' leftovers, which were always the right portion (which means not a lot, lol). But I woke up with cotton mouth and an upset stomach from that stuff. Back at the water and salad and YUMMY CLEAN eats today!

21 days!

They say it takes 21 days to form a new habit.

Do you believe them????? PROVE IT TO ME!

Gayle

(p.s. Chrissy, are you doing the Tri State gathering on the 14th? If so, let's talk about our plans, and maybe we can share a hotel room at Jerry's place?)

Good Morning All!

I did Drill Max Cardio Blast premix and Medicine Ball abs. It's gorgeous and I am sitting on the deck having my coffee however I need to quit listening to the birds and get a move on!

Gayle, sounds like you had a fun day yesterday! I can't believe it's June either! Today is my niece's birthday so must give her a call. I have my lunch all packed complete with Kale soup (thank you very much Cendrine!).

Hope everyone enjoys their day - I plan to have a very productive day!

Hi Everybody,

I was once again MIA this weekend. This may become a habit for me during the summer, so I'm letting you know in advance :(. I haven't had a chance to read any of the posts since Friday, so I will just say Hi for right now. I had a busy weekend, as I'm sure most of us had with the nice weather upon us. I am really, really tired today, and have my repeat of disc 19 (chest, shoulders and tri's) tonight. I have a board meeting at 5:30 that should last until about 7:30, so I'm hoping I can recharge before I get home and take on the sts challenge before heading for the couch/bed. Disc 19 was really hard for me last week, and I'm not all that excited about repeating it again tonight. I will do it, I just wish I had gotten up early this morning and have it done already :confused:. I did set my alarm for 4:00 this morning, but my back was acting up and I didn't want to push hard knowing I could make it worse. I have an appt. with the chiropractor on Wednesday, so I should be good as new after that!!!

Sorry I can't stay longer, but I have my meeting to prep for. Have a great day everyone, and if I finish my workout before bedtime, I'll check back later.

Mary

Jo, I meant to ask how you and I are now on the same week??? Weren't you just one week behind me? What did I miss? :)

Hi, Mary. Yeah, starting next week, my posting may become more (or less) frequent, depending on what we're doing each day.

Gayle

Did Disc 23 and CoreMax #3 today. My body is so ready for a recovery week, I think the tennis made me sore. Interesting how doing something different really makes a difference.

I have today off work as had to take ds12 to the opthamalogist at the Children's Hospital for our annual appt. Our son was born with no vision as his retina didn't develop fully but his vision has improved over the years ( much to the surprise of the medical staff:D:D). He has limited vision for distance but can see 20/20 up close. Manages to be a hockey goalie so doesn't slow him down much. It's quite visible as he's eyes "dance". Anyways, today the doctor says his vision is maybe improved enough to be able to drive!! We never thought he would be able to drive (or course he's only 12 right now) but that was great news for us!!! It seems his eyes have stablized and he has 20/50 with his glasses on.:cool:

Mary, hope that your weekend was just too much fun that's why we didn't see you. No worries, just checkin when you can!

Gayle DS would be so excited to catch a baseball! I caught one a few summers ago, dd and I were heading to the parking lot early (ds and DH were still in watching the game)and I guess a player hit a ball out of the ballpark. All of a sudden a ball fell out of the sky right in front of me and onto the sidewalk. I don't know if ds ever really believed me that was how I got the ball. LOL

Gayle, I posted this a while back that I had to double up workouts w/cardio and moved to a 6 day week instead of 7 for about 5 weeks because of two long weekends I was going to have (which have both happened) and vacation next month. You must have missed that (I assumed you agreed with what I was doing as you didn't comment :p ). Also, since I am usually one of the last posters in our threads, you probably just didn't see my posts. Because of other summer "goings-on" I need STS to still wrap up as I originally planned.

So we are now on the same week and I am back to 7 day a week schedule. I am not repeating weeks for the rest of this. I am doing Meso 3 as scheduled with plyo legs and then we go on vacation. So then I'll take a recovery week. When I return I will do Meso 3 again with squat legs. I will however, still end up finishing a week behind you. I have this all worked out so I will still finish as originally planned at the end of July or whatever it was. Because then in August, I'm taking MORE TIME OFF! Yippee! And we'll probably be in Montana a lot of that time KAYAKING! Yippee again! Then I'll come back and start over!

Hi Kim! Wow that is incredibile news about your DS! You must be so happy!

I know you'll really enjoy your recovery week! I certainly did! I'm glad Cathe put those in there! I think it's tougher on us 6-monthers that go twice as long without a break! It is amazing how differently we use our muscles for different activites. I found even walking last week had a different affect on me. No doubt tennis really had an affect on you!

Jo, I feel like a horrible 6 Monther Pal that I missed that info! lol Sorry, but at least I have a workout partner (for this week, anyway, lol)! I really need to look at my calendar to see, exactly, how Meso 3 will fall and get changed around with vacation between now and Road Trip.

Kim, AWESOME news about DS! I bet HE's excited about the news of driving! LOL Like Jo said, I think you're going to really enjoy your Recovery Week. I sure did. All that cardio made THIS cardio junkie HAPPY!!!!

No worries Gayle! There are much worse things to feel horrible about than missing a few of my late night rambling posts! Like missing a Cathe presale!! :p

Hi everyone. This is going to be a quick post for me. I have to get ready for sons baseball game. We just got back from Mohegan Sun. Its a casino and we lost alot of money:(. But we had fun and this morning I got a great deep tissue massage.

Gayle and Jo- so glad you guys like meso 3. I have my rest week first.

Gayle- right now I plan on going. I would like to stay until monday. The only thing is my son's 2nd grade moving up ceremony is that friday....unless it rains then it will be that monday. So I am not sure what to do. Were you planning on taking Cathe's class monday or hanging by the beach. I was also thinking that I can go down on saturday and leave sunday. My kids will have to sleep out since I would have to leave a 5 am. My husband will be at the race track and not at home. Any thoughts? Unfortunately I can't commit to sharing a room sunday night, it will all depend on the weather-:(.

I have to go, probably won't be back until tomorrow. Have a good night.

Evenin' Yall! <---Totally a Texas Gal!:D

This mornig was LIC and the abs from that one too. I eas running a little behind but I got a good workout in, I think.

Oru job is starting to really pick up so I am sure I will be having less time but right now we are still getting homw at a decent hour. I tested the pork loin fajita casserole today and it was really good. It is supposed to keep in the fridge for 4 to 5 days so I hope they were right about that. That would alleviate having to thaw out anything for a couple of days.
But it was nice to come home and already know I had food prepared.
Tomorrow is disc22 second week so the countdown to rest week has began. I am really going to miss meso 2 but I am glad we got positive feed back from Galye and Jo so we know meso 3 will be good.!!!

Jo-I love Drill max-When I finish that workout I feel I have really accomplished something. It is a mighty feat somedays but I always try to approach it with a smile.
Kayaking in Montana sounds like the most fun!!! Is it calm water or white water? I don't think I could handle the white water but I love to kayak. Montana is probably like heaven in the summer!

Cendrine-You are welcome anytime! Seeing as how I am the only vege eater in my house I do not get to cook and experiment near as much as I would like to. But remember every meal is normally a first for me so you would be my human guinea pig:D

Mary- I hope you are able to get disc 19 in tonight. I know that if I worked out in the evening I would probably dread it. I think I would probably miss alot of workouts. Sometimes I get slack from DH because I go to bed way earlier than he does and I guess he misses me:p but I think he knows if I did not get up and workout I would be miserable.

Gayle-Pat ds on the back for me. He must be the luckiest little guy! It sounds like you had one heck of a good time. I am glad you got to let your hair down a little at the game! You deserve a good time!

Julie- That is great news about DS eyesight! Maybe between now and 16 his eyesight will improve even more. What was his reaction when the doctor gave the news about the driving?

Chrissy- Sorry about the loss at the casino. I just can not make myself put money into those machines. We have even went with my FIL and he has given us money and I just can't do it. I think I know I am not very lucky with that and I hate to give away good money. But at least you had a good time. Normally when we go with a group of people that like to stay a long time we end up going to the boardwalk and doing some shopping. So I like going to the casino too for that reason;)

Well guys I am going to go set my weights up for tomorrow morning so I can slam out Disc 22...

Rachel

Well I really blew it eating wise over the weekend.* I think all those compliments went to my head and allowed me to slack off.Rach,* Thanks for the thoughts on DS, but I think you meant Kim?Anyway, got the stiches out today.* Surgeon says I am healing really fast and well.* What no bad news today?* I think someone, Rach, maybe it was you who asked why I needed the surgery.* I don't think I ever said.* I had a gum graft from on the top from eye tooth to eye tooth.* It is a long story but the coolest part is that the tissue came from an organ donor.* Surprisigly my own tissue was not a good match and there was not enough.DS has lost another 4lbs.* I am not sure if I have mentioned it or not but his meds make it hard for him to eat.* He is 10 years old and now weighs about 46 lbs.* Only 2 pounds more than my 5 year old (2 month preemie) DD, and she is very this also.* I am going to try to make some more high calorie nutrient rich drinks that he can get down and hopefully put on some weight.STBX still driving me nuts.* I am hoping to go to court Friday and at leat he will have to start to give me money for food and gas.I did disc 16 today and I felt great.* I finally have figured out how to do a dead lift properly.* I ended up watching a utube clip to learn.julie

Hi All,

I had another nonstop day today, thus, checking in as one of the last...

I did disk 22 again, no shoulder neck problems this time.... yay!

Rachel, I am my own guinea pig as well, because a lot of what I make is improvised stuff too, so I think I would be quite used to getting the first round taste....LOL!

Kim, great news about your son!

Julie, I'm sorry about your son, my 5yr old weighs more than your 10 yr old, wow. And my ds is not chubby. I so feel for you! I hope he likes your high calorie drinks, since he can have them! Most people would love to be told they have to eat more. Is he miserable or does he function ok just isn't hungry? I hope he is not miserable!

Mary, hats off to you for pushing through the workouts at times when it is hard to get them done! Pretty soon you'll be back to your regular times, right?

Gayle, you are the most faithful grass cutter! I would be the queen of procrastinating here! We used to cut our own grass, pathetically little of it there was, and then we decided that we spent more time taking care of it than we did using it, so we have someone else do it for us now....

Jo, I hope your day was productive, like you planned! Glad that kale soup is working for you!

I had something yummy from the prevention's magazine meal plan today:

ww pita spread with pesto sauce, topped with fat free ricotta cheese, baked for about 10 min to make crunchy, topped with tomato sauce... yum, I enjoyed that! Just gotta be really careful with measuring out that pesto sauce, it can add up quick....

Hi Chrissy, I hope you'll get to take a class with Cathe, I would love taking one! Maybe one time in my life I'm going to make it happen!

Gotta go....

Hi Everyone - one last post for the night!

I'm so excited, some friends invited us to go to Westport (on the Washington coast) to go kayaking this weekend. (We'll be kayaking in a bay not on the ocean.) It's about 3 hours from here so that's how I'll spend my rest day on Saturday! We bought new kayaks last summer (end of season) and only got to have them out once before the weather got cold.

Chrissy, glad you had a nice massage since losing money stinks! :p

Rachel, no, I don't do white water kayaking (not yet anyway!). I like a good kayak workout but I also love paddling along really enjoying the scenery. When I go to MT, my GF and I go out every morning after coffee and kayak the lake and do our heavy girl talking time! We get LOTS of privacy out there! And a great workout!

Julie, glad you are healing well! I'm sorry for DS. I hope you can get some weight on him! I sure hope things get sorted out for you soon! I can imagine how ready you are to move ON!

Cendrine, you sound like a busy busy girl! Glad your neck and shoulder didn't bother today! That's a relief! How's swimming going?

Okay, I'm off to read...tomorrow is PLYO LEGS! Yippee!
