Default 50 and over week of March 6 check in

Still working so I thought I would get us started. Today was a terrible eating day. I don't know why I was so hungry today. I had about 1600 calories. Once I started I just didn't stop eating. I was so happy about the way I looked last night. I felt thinner. I feel so bloated and fat now. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Good Morning, Y'All!

Sorry to have been absent, but mostly sorry that I didn't let you know I would be on vacation. We were really involved getting ready for this one.

The bad news is that vacation was a cruise on an Italian ship. Imagine what a diet buster that food was! I did pace myself and my clothes are no tighter, but it was tough. This morning, I got up at 5:30 because my body clock thinks it's 11:30. Anyway, it was nice, even thought we both got miserable colds. I am just glad to be home!! There is no bed more comfortable than your own.

Well, have a great day, everyone!

Magnolia that sounds like a wonderful vacation. At least you know we miss you when you aren't here.

I gave up on 500 calorie diet but will try it again later. I did like the 5lb loss. I am back to my regular diet. I will try to keep it at 1200 calories for a week. Then I will go back to high and low days averaging 1400 calories. It's not that you are hungry on the 500 calories but you just desire certain flavors after a while. I could stay on it perfectly for about a week. If I can keep the weight off, the 5 lb will be enough.

Wi this morning is 161.6lb. I hope that is the last increase. It must all be water because I haven't eaten enough to gain. Joan

Well, it's Monday I strapped the ol'gwf back on this morning. I am going to start trying to do south beach phase 2. I know, who am I kidding, thinking I can do phase 1. So, starting with phase 2. One of the problems I have with SB is the lunch meat, not a fan. So I have to try to keep cooked turkey or chicken around.

Treadmill this morning for 40 minutes, free weights and 100 swings with 8 pound bell.

Good morning, Y'All!

Thanks, I missed all of you, too!

It was a wonderful cruise. The jet lag coming back has actually been worse than going over. I have been really tired by about 8 pm, but have been going to bed every night at 10 in an attempt to reset my clock. Getting there slowly!!

Jann, I have always found the South Beach Diet to be very effective. I have lost as much as 10 pounds in two weeks on Phase 1. Phase 2 is a lot easier. It's a very healthy diet, and if you have issues with your cholesterol, you will see a big improvement. It's just been hard to commit to anything, with the holidays and then knowing I was going on a cruise ship with lots of wonderful food. The only thing is that you need to be very careful about your carbs, or you gain all the weight back plus more.

I read a really good book by Michael A. Snyder, a doctor who specializes in gastric bypass and lap band surgeries. It's called Full: A Life Without Dieting. There is some really good advice in there. I am still trying to find a way to keep weight off without having to be on some diet or other, but we really love the food on South Beach (especially dh), so I am seeing it as a possibility in the near future.

I am going to do The Firm Ultimate Fat Burning Workout today, and the sun is out, so maybe a nice walk after lunch.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Good morning all,

Wi is back to 163.4lb. exactly what I was 2 weeks ago. It's so strange. I wasn't hungry eating 500 calories but can't eat enough eating more. Calories last two days were about 1600 but I still shouldn't gain more than a pound per day. I NEED TO EXERCISE!

Thanks, Magnolia. I have decided to start with phase 2 and throw in a couple of phase 1 days. I am such a carb eater, I really have to rethink my whole eating plan. I can keep my calories low and not be hungry with my carb plan, I have to admit I am hungry all the time now with keeping with 1200-1400 calories. My husband is trying it with me also.

I want a eating plan that is not a diet or at least doesn't feel like a diet too!

Joan, I wish I had an answer about our old bodies It really it trial and error. Then menopause kicks in and we have to start all over!!

I did High Step Circuit this morning. It felt good using light weights.

Beth are you hiding again??

Replying to myself....

Basic step this morning.

I am patting myself on the back today. Last night around 8ish I was hungry not crazy hungry just felt like I needed something. Normally I would pop some pop corn, or have some cat cookies(trader joes). I looked at my display and I only had 8,9?? steps in, so I started walking around the kitchen, the dinning room, the living room. NCIS was a rerun so I didn't have to pay attention. I walked for 30 minutes.

Stats for Tuesday
Calories burn 2494 Consumed 1380
Steps 10,568
Eating was good.
