Hey everyone! It is really hard trying to catch up with my work, since I was gone last week! I have barely had time to lift my head, here at the office!

Cathy – I really liked Powerstrike 5. I liked it a lot better than 4. I thought 4 moved too slowly. I gave it to my SD. When I did Body Strike, I did it along with Powerstrike 5…so it made a really good workout and I was sooo sore (in a good way) a couple of days afterwards! I went ahead and started CLX. I am going to do it with running/cardio, though. I have done Burn Cir. I andBurn Cir. 2 and Ab Burner. I loved them! I can’t wait to see what you think of them!

Wendi – Thanks for the info on Benjamin Button! I have been wondering about it! Good idea with your DM cardio/IMAX 2! Sounds like fun!

Judy – I know I have said it before, but I have to say it again…. “You are soooo lucky to have your dad around and be able to celebrate his 87th birthday! “ That is wonderful  Hope you enjoyed your run and yoga!

Carole – Enjoy your run and UB and abs!

Christine - I hope your DH’s biopsy goes well and that everything is okay! Did you get to preview any of the CLX’s?

Jackie – My arms got tired from holding the heavy weights, too! (and my wrists, also). If I am remembering correctly…the reverse row/deadlifts made my hands/wrists/arms tired! I went as heavy as I could….but not has heavy as Chalene! I can’t wait to do the Burn Intervals! That is next one in line in the rotation. It will either be tonight or in the morning. I added Ab Burner to Burn Circuit 2 and it was good, too.

Brighton – Ouch! I am sorry about your knee! I hope it gets better and doesn’t sideline your running for very long! But I know it is better to try and recover so you won’t injure it worse! I understand you being frustrate, but hopefully it won't last long. I would love to run that marathon in Utah!

Karen – I hope you guys are all doing okay. I know it is still very hard! I am sure all of the legal stuff is very frustrating! Awww! That is so sweet of you to try to adopt a doggie of your dad’s choice! I hope and pray he does get her/him!

Let’s see….yesterday was a 4 mile run and CLX Burn Circuit 2, along with Ab Burner. LOL…yep…I ran…after saying I was sick of running! I have the 2nd race of the Winter Series on Sunday and Patty called yesterday to make sure we were still on for it. I guess I just needed a little break to do some “fun” stuff!

Hey to everyone! Hope everyone has a great evening! I will try to get back on track with checking in! I “plan” on doing a workout/run tonight when I get home.

Linda

Hi Cheetahs!

Cathy: Have fun with your Squeeze workout tonight! It is always fun to preview the new workouts. You girls have me interested in CLX. It isn't too expensive. Perhaps I will think it over after I pay off my car this month. How was the first week back? I always think the kids look bigger when we come back from break.

Wendi: DM cardio and Imax 2 sound pretty fun together! Sorry you DSO is having wrist issues.

Judy: Freezing rain is nothing to mess with, that's for sure. Hope your workout was a good one!

Wendy: How are you doing? Are you feeling happy to be home after your AC trip? So what workout did you do today?

Carole: I have not had carrot cake in a looong time. The mere mention of it makes my mouth water. I would not be surprised at all if you were a BC qualifier!

Christine: Sorry DH has to go through the biopsy. How did everything go? It is frustrating when the house is all torn up! How long will the project take?

Jackie: Great you are liking the CLX! I thought about getting the vest from Walmart online too, but I was at Dunhams and I could not resist when I saw it in person.

Brighton: Oh, I hope your knee isn't anything serious. I'm not sure what LCL is. I am no expert, but I don't think it is time to give up on your SLC marathon. Give it some rest and see what happens. Hopefully the marathon experienced Cheetahs can give you some good advice.

Karen: I'm hoping things slow down for you soon. You are so sweet to be taking all of this on for your mom and dad. (((HUGS))) I did have to smile when you were talking about this St. Bernard being bigger than the kids! Hang in there!

Hi to Posh, Shelly, Laura, and Dallas. Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Yesterday/this morning I was awake for 24 hours straight. I have never done that before. I had to pick up my mom from the airport again. Her flight was scheduled to arrive right before 9 pm last night. It was delayed three times due to ice conditions at her connection in Detroit. She did not arrive until 12:30 am. I finally got home about 3:30 and had to decompress so I could sleep. I could not work today, so I took my last personal day. I have slept for about five hours and am still groggy, so I thought it was wise to take a rest day. Yesterday was a 3 mile run and Monday I ran 4. Tomorrow will be something.

Ok, rant over. Thanks for listening!

Take care everyone!

Karen: I am so sorry to hear about the legal woes. As if you needed more drama... (((HUGS))) IA with Gloria, I had to grin at the thought of your dad with a big ol' St. Bernard! Hope it goes through okay for you. Thinking of you, hon.

Linda: Hey! It's good to see you back! Yeah, I'm pretty steamed right now-- I've been taking it easy today, might do some yoga while DS is napping... Top of Utah would be fun! It's not too far from my parents' place, it starts up Blacksmith Fork Canyon at Hardware Ranch-- an elk reserve. It's a gorgeous area-- especially in Sept with all the leaves changing. It's mostly downhill as well, though just a 1-2% grade, so not too bad on the knees. I'll keep you posted!

Gloria: Oh, I hope you get some good sleep really soon!!! I don't function well without sleep. Thanks for the support-- I too hope that it doesn't derail plans for April, but it is what it is. We'll just take it a step at a time. The LCL is the lateral collateral ligament. It connects the femur to the tibia on the outer side of the knee. That seems to be where the pain is located, but I'm certainly no physical therapist. I had a lot of joint issues as an adolescent in athletics. The osteopath I saw said I had extremely "loose ligaments." It's gotten better as I've aged but they still give me trouble from time to time. Darn genetics. Anyway, I guess that's why I assume it's a ligament issue. Just a lot of history there.

Well, DD & DS are down for naps, so I think I'm going to pop in some yoga on the ol' DVD player and see if I can't get this knee thing improving a bit. BBL....

Hi to all that follow!

So... I've been doing a bunch of reading on how to proceed with this knee thing, and a lot of the literature suggests that it could be an ITB issue?

Found this graphic, and it's pretty dead on for me:

Cathy, if you don't mind me asking, what's worked for you?

Brighton: I was born with my own case of problems too. I was thinking that you might have ITB. Do you have a foam roller? My DH has actually pulled it out and it has really helped with some back pain he is having. My BF has trouble with her ITB and the foam roller is really helping her out. Keep positive about it.

Brighton - The slight downhill grade would be heavenly!!!! I know a steep downhill grade for a long distance would "kill" our knees, quads, etc....but a "slight" one would be great!

Gloria - Did you see the "Rave Run" in this month's Runner's World???? It was Livingston! It was beautiful! I am pretty sure that is where I ran when I was there Oh shoot! Now I have the "fever" again!

Thanks, Gloria.
I don't have a foam roller yet. I am investigating them on Amazon as I type this! What size would you guys suggest? I see that the 3 feet x 6 inch diameter one is the most popular size-- is that what I should go for?

Thanks for all your insights & positivity!

Good evening Cheetahs!

Brighton - Fiber One!! Yum! Sorry the knee is acting up again. Think you have the right idea of allowing it to heal before attempting longer runs. How did yoga go? I have the 3x6 roller. It sure helps the aches and pains sometimes.

Karen - So sorry you're still going through so much right now. ((((HUGS)))) Yes, it's good to have a will. I've had one since my divorce. I wanted to make sure my kids were taken care of just in case. Saying a prayer that your dad can get the dog he wants. That sure is a big one. I was just watching Bethoven the other night. Things will settle down soon for you.

Linda - I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that got tired from holding the weights. Think next week I'll lower the weight and the next week, I'll increase the weight and do as many reps as I can. I have Burn Intervals on tap tomorrow. I need to work it in with a run though. Guess I'll have to add Ab Burner to BC #3 since I know I won't have time tomorrow. How did your workout go?

Gloria - Always remember carrot cake is a veggie. Did you get the 20# vest? Wow, I hope you get some extra sleep tonight. My nephew was trying to get back to school in FL from IL. He left Sat morning and got stuck in ATL because of cancellations. Didn't get to FL until 4:30 Sunday. Airline gave him a voucher for future use.

Time to relax now. Have a good night!

Evening, cheetahs!

Wendi—thanks for the review on Benjamin Button. Looks good.

Judy—I can understand the kids' struggle to re-adjust. They are biologically wired to stay up later and sleep later than we do. Hope you enjoyed your run & yoga.

Wendy—oops, tried to cut & paste to your thread. Oh well. We will be skiing over Easter break and will likely make it up to VT once before then. So, what was your workout punishment of choice today?

Carole—I do like Ilaria’s style and form—it’s just #4 had too much add-on and repeat, and for me, that doesn’t appeal as much…I did not feel that way with Bodystrikes, though…LOL—Donna is nuts! Ooh on the 4 miles of intervals. How was it?...I must say, I tried another oil today and have gone completely bonkers over them. I am liking Clarity a whole lot.

Christine—ut oh…does this mean we are going to be TJ converts soon? Hope you were able to concentrate with all the extra noise. How’s DH doing?

Jackie—*lol* Nope, didn’t forget on purpose! I have actually had nightmares about oversleeping and not showing up for work. But til now I've been going without needing an alarm. This break led to some different (more relaxed) sleep patterns…Oh, that’s right. I forgot about Rob…I’m enjoying hearing your thoughts on CLX. Glad there’s a bunch of us doing the rotation together. Fun!

Brighton—sorry about your knee pain. It does sound like an ITB issue to me. Of course, I don’t mind you asking. Stretching, rolling, and ice have helped, but the most effective thing, in all candor, has been to cut back on running. I bought my foam roller at Target. There was only one size…I do know exactly what you mean about Young Living. A friend at work uses them, and I've always liked how they smelled but never got around to ordering them, especially considering they aren’t cheap. But she gave me two for Christmas, and since then, I've become a believer. As mentioned to Carole above, I’m really enjoying Clarity. *lol* I know the name sounds hocus-pocus-y, but it is a really nice, energizing scent.

Karen—fingers crossed Lucky is yours tomorrow.

Linda—I do agree with you about Powerstrike 4. But oh no—now I’ll want to order #5. *lol*…So, are you adding the running/cardio or subbing it for the CLX cardio? Love hearing your reviews.

Gloria—Ooh, paying off your car this month? Nice to be done with that! So yes, join the CLX party! …The first week back has been good. We’re in the computer lab working on metaphor poems. It’s just the right speed for a post-break project.

I did Squeeze Lower Body Challenge this evening. It burned, but I gotta say, I wasn't overly impressed. I'm thinking, though, that Linda said the DOMS sneaks up on you with this one. Now off to preview some Chalean.

Have a great night!
