Well I finally made it here today . . . Just got finished reading !
The workout last night felt good and by the afternoon today I was feeling my legs a bit while getting up and down outta my chair and climbing the stairs. Wasn't feeling like I went heavy enough but I guess I got some benefit from it.
I had a great meeting with a lady I met last week while networking and she is going to help me figure out where I can add to my knowledge or experience to hopefully move on up in my career. Funny but my boss chatted with me a bit about moving our Corp office to our manufacturing site a half hour away. He wanted to know if I would go (mind you I could go 1/2 an hour in the other direction for a much better career path and probably at least another 20K). I had the opportunity to tell him that I am bored and tired of the administrative work that is not challenging at all. Whew ! great to get that off my chest (even though I mentioned it during my review a few months ago). I said I'd go for a while, but probably not long term as I am not feeling productive. We'll see if that helps - though I am not crossing my fingers because I don't think he can do much about it.
Those two things in and of themselves have given me some energy I lacked the last few days - I'll be running on the TM as soon as I am done here.
Lori - Good for you on the "new bedroom" for DS, your weights and guessing you got your run in ! I too LOL'd at your comment about labels on the Rubbermaid containers ! I learned when I had 3 little ones in 4 years that time is too precious to waste it on things that don't matter to you. Priorities are more important ! I try to stay "picked up" (not always successful) and it is much easier now with no kids around !
(However I still have DH ya' know?
) I'm with you - Exercise is usually #1, food in the fridge is #2 and from there, whatever happens, happens ! I ended up with a huge bag of tri tips from Costco - yummy grilled steak is a fav of mine - paired with artichokes ! Also got some cottage cheese to go with my raw veggies for lunch - yum again ! Other than that, nothing thrilling
Oh Wait ! ! ! Space bags for ORGANIZING !
LOL ! Yep, I need to get the winter clothes outta my drawers so I can put my summer things in there. BUT it will have to be in between my workouts, Ha !
Wendy - Well good to hear you have DOMS from your workouts lady ! Not sure if you emailed about that job or not, but I suggest a phone call if you haven't done that lately. You know the saying about the squeaky wheel? If the hiring manager can't come to the phone, then at least she should get a message that you took personal time to make the call. (Did you read the LauraMax thread last week about the texting BF's?) Your personality shines more on the phone than in an email, and you just may get a chance to ask some questions or put in .02 about yourself?
Glad to hear the scale is cooperating with you now - thank goodness it was probably the meds - I am thinking that I haven't been eating enough for STS since I ate my usual and when not working out much am dropping a 1/2 to 1 lb. a day? I know it won't last really long, but I need to get into some pants that are not TIGHT !
And Congrats on the weights - Costco had some a while ago and I think I am remembering either $150 or $200. Will be interested in knowing what you think . . .
Jen - Woo Hoo GWF ! You must keep up with the reviews here and clue me in. I think it will be interesting to see what happens with "off" days either with energy expenditure or too many calories. You are so right about letting the "blahs" run their course. I dislike being nonproductive, but have learned to go with the flow until I can find my way back. I was doing pretty well for a while - hoping I am back on track again.
Diana - Sorry about the lack of sleep, but one of these days you'll catch up. Excitement sometimes works the opposite, huh? Hope you got a workout in, but if not, then to heck with it - chase the girls around a little more while you are with them ! I can't tell you how much exercise I got chasing my kids with their soccer balls, baseballs, basketballs, or just plain playing on the playground. Little ones seem to love to be chased - DGS never stops when we are visiting and squeals with delight if you play with him. Your girls aren't much younger than he is - it will be so much fun !
Hope my being lazy getting here didn't miss you:
HAVE FUN ! ! !
Hey there
Laura - Hope your day wasn't too bad . . .
