** DAMAGE CONTROL....THURSDAY **

Good Morning!

How is everyone? I have a few things to do today but nothing I won't enjoy:D DS's room is getting its 2nd coat of paint as i type this so beside for my workout today....getting his room back in order is the only thing on my list! I am looking forward to getting his new bedroom set in his room.

I am going to read yesterdays thread and I will return!

Lori:D

Seems like there was a few rest days yesterday....tut-tut!;)

I on the other hand....did a 12.5 km run, which is our normal route but no weights, which I need to do today! I am actually going to start it very soon so I have no excuses!

Wendy** I noticed your status update last night on FB.....I know you opted out of your class last night;) Glad to hear the scale is going back down for you. Mine as went up a couple:mad: and I can tell!

Jen** Hope you get a good workout in today!

Jacque** Did you buy anything good at costco? The closet one to us is in the city and I hate going there b/c it is so packed all the time!

Diana** Anything new happening at work? Anymore layoffs coming your way? Ugh....things at work have picked up a little bit but my boss is still singing the poor song.

Laura** So PIA is still around? Sorry to hear she is still being a pain! We don't have any of those where I work now! She left! LOL

I hope my post made sense. I am trying to type this with someone (not naming names....) pulling on me!

Lori:)

Hi Lori. Thanks for getting us started! :)

Sorry I never came back y'day. I was on the forums alot but somehow only managing to read every time. I don't know what was up with that!? I guess I just wasn't in a typing mood. :p

So my active rest day went down the tubes. I was on my way to Centergy class when I turned around and headed home. I just wasn't in the mood. I already had my "required" classes in the bag so I decided not to force it. I came home and did BBC Butt and Legs instead! Cardio first, then weights. OUCHEES!

My tri's are now sore sore sore. It came on later in the day y'day and came on strong! LOL My legs are still OKAY but I just KNOW they are gonna be hurtin' me later or tmrw!

I am due (probably OVERdue) for a rest day so I will be taking one over the next couple of days. I thought about taking one today but I hate "wasting" my days off with no work out unless I'll be otherwise very busy. That being said, if I have the time, I am going to do BBC Chest and Abs weights + a visit to the gym for cardio. I do not like this particular BBC cardio so I am opting to skip it.

Gotta go for the moment. It's time for breakfast and DS won't let me forget it! LOL

BBS!

Diana: Great class! I hope you got your dvd!!! So you leave tmrw to visit your GDs?

Laura: Sorry your class wasn't what you wanted. Hopefully your next one will be better. PIA is ridiculous. I can't believe she gets away with it! Feel better!

Jen: So were you up for Burn last night? So I may have opted out of STS and squat racks but now I have my eye on a new "toy"! Bowflex Select Tech DB's!!!!:D I am trying to decide if they are worth the money or if I should get a less expensive brand. I'll have to do some research whilst I save my pennies! ;)

Jacque: Sorry you've not been feeling up to snuff and missing work outs. I know what that's like! Hope you are back to normal soon! :) I STILL haven't heard back from that office job about setting up an interview after she responded and told me end of last week/beginning of this week. I think I will shoot out and email today to let her know I'm still interested...

Lori: Sorry the scale is up! I know how that is!!! (((hugs))) Enjoy putting DS' room back together! I remember how much fun it was to paint and arrange DS' room before he was born!!!

Hey Girls!

I am done with Disc 8 and am going to go for a run around 12:30...which is about 90 mins from now:D I am also STARVING...but I am going to try and put off eating until 11:30, which gives me an hour to digest it before I head out.

Wendy** I don't enjoy taking rest days when I don't have to work either, what do people do all day that don't work out? I had this conversation sat night. I was talking to 2 girls (one of them being my SIL) and I was saying I don't know how people can be so organized. Then the other lady pipes up and says, "how can you not be organized" I told them thats the same way I feel about working out..."how can you not find the time to work out?" Then i said, " I guess while you guys are making labels for your rubbermaid containers, I am out running"! LOL I will be more organized when DS gets older! Right now, he won't let me do anything and thats my excuse! hehe!

BBL!
Lori:)

Good morning, all!

Happy to announce that I'm wearing my new GWF today! Woo hoo! I put it on last night before I went to bed. So far I'm halfway to my steps goal, which is 10k, and it's only 9:30 a.m., so that's wicked cool. What's NOT cool is that Burn Curcuit 3 doesn't burn many calories. Nor does sleeping ;)

Lori: Wow, somebody was up and at 'em and painting pretty early! I love a fresh coat of paint. It doesn't wonders for just about any room. Great job on that run yesterday!

Wendy: I looked at the Select Techs myself a while ago. Oh, they are sooo nice. I think they'd probably be a great investment! I ended up not doing it because they were a little too pricey at the time, and I wondered what the heck I'd do with all the dumbells I already have  There are certainly other brands out there that are cheaper, but sometimes it's better to go with the originals.

Jacque: Sorry to hear you're fighting that down in the dumps/in a rut feeling. Sometimes the only answer to that is to just let yourself feel it, give yourself the break, and get back to it when you can. Usually you snap out of it sooner than you'd expect. Fight it too hard and it might linger longer than you'd like.

Diana: I think I might add the workout you posted to the compilation I'm putting together! That sounds like a goodie! So are you all packed and ready to go?

Laura: Hope PIA in training doesn't have a voodoo doll :p Yeah, I'm taking it easy when I have to, even though I don't really like it. I like to forget sometimes that I'm not superwoman.

K, work beckons, will bbl~

Lori: "I guess while you guys are making labels for your rubbermaid containers, I am out running"! Priceless! I love it. :D

Hi ladies,

Well my morning got all screwed up....I couldn't sleep last night (probably the excitement of seeing my gd's.) I didn't get up until 7, had my 2 cups of java, put on my w/o clothes and then the phone rang. It was the roofing company wanting to start today. I said that would be great. I also had to go out and move 2 vehicles, get ds up for school, call other ds to let him know not to park in the driveway.... Well then it was too late for my morning w/o. I also have to be at the school in an hour for the academic awards ceremony. On top of that, I need to get to the store and pick up a gift for the bday party ds is going to after school.

Thankfully I'm working from home today and they know I won't be around this morning. I'm heading out now for the gift before heading to the school.

I do hope to pack today and then if I can make it to tri training I won't feel so bad about missing my morning w/o.

I'll be back for personals in a bit.

Jen: YAY for the GWF! I can't wait to hear all about it!!!! The bowflex weights on are sale at amazon with free shipping! ;) I'm seriously considering this....I told DH about my idea y'day and he said he had actually considered buying me a set (not neccessarily bowflex though) got my Birthday but didn't for some silly reason. When I told him how much the bowflex go for he basically made a face not unlike . I told him I was gonna save for a set with my pennies from my job anyway. I just texted him about the sale. I am waiting for his response. I'd love to grab 'em up NOW while I can get 'em cheaper and then pay 'em off with my pennies. ;) I'll keep you posted on his reaction. :D

Diana: Sorry your morning got all screwed up and you missed your work out. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that you make it to tri training class tonight! C'mon girl. We know you can do it! :D

Lori: I actually think you are right. Everyone has things in life that they enjoy doing and/or feel are neccessary and therefore put them at the top of their priority list. For you and I, it's exercise. For your friends, it's organization. For others it's other things! It's the folks who manage to DO IT ALL that I am totally jealous and in awe of. Given the choice, though, I'd rather get in a sweaty work out then put labels on things any day! :p I am not very organized. I try to be but even if I accomplish the task of organizing something, with use, it will get unorganized..and quite quickly I might add. I simply don't have the patience for maintanence!

So it's all set! Me and 2 of the gals from work are going to Atlantic City Friday evening June 19th and spending the night! I was able to get us a free room! WOO HOO! :D I can't wait! We are going to go next door to another casino and sit and have a few martinis in their martini bar. They serve over 100 different kinds! I'll be in *HEAVEN*!!!!! I may need more money for the booze then for the gambling! :p Jen, am I scaring you yet? ;):p:D

So update on my job hunt/care of DS situation. They still haven't gotten back the approval for the free "aftercare" for my son at school. This means that if I want him to be able to attend the daycare program over the summer that I have to go there and sign him up for this current school year and pay for it and then immediately sign him up for summer and pay for that too. The deadline for summer sign up is June 1. Cutting it a little close, huh!? The folks that run this things are the worst! I told the lady I would be there tmrw after work at 1230 to sign him up for both. I hope and pray that nothing goes wrong!!!!:eek::confused:
As for a job? Nothing yet and it's looking bleek but it's still worth it to get him signed up because it's soooo freakin' cheap. While I am still only working at the gym I can sign him up for 1/2 a day (over the summer) and then when/if I get another job I can switch it to full day if need be.

Okay, I gotta go for now but I'll be back!

DH went for it! I applied for the Amazon c/c and got another $30 off so I ended up paying almost $200 less then the regular retail price for the dumbbells!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Better start savin' those pennies now! ;)

Just popping in very quickly:

Diana: I know you'll get to tri-training class tonight! But I'll keep my fingers crossed for you anyway.

Wendy: Woo hoo on the Select Techs!!! GREAT idea on the cc, too. You know I have to go check this out now! Scare me? Girl, you don't know who you're dealing with here ;)

So far today I've surpasses my steps goal of 10,000 and have burned 1400 cals. And I still have 8.5 hours left in this 24 hr. period. Not too bad! Can't wait to upload it all and see what it looks like online tonight.

Lunch is over, but will bbl to chat more ~

Jen

Hi ladies,

I'm back from the awards ceremony and the roofing guys are here. I feel like I don't have much privacy since we have a skylight in our kitchen, one in our living room and one in a bathroom. These aren't small skylights, about 4 ft long and 2 ft wide. Oh... and the banging is making my hanging lights over the table shake and .... scary.

Wendy-I didn't get my delivery yesterday, hopefully it will come today. Congrat's on your purchase, hope you like them. Before I had to rush out of here I was going to tell you to go try them out at a sporting goods store. Years ago DH bought me a set of adjustable db's. I didn't like them because they were so long. That's the main reason I haven't been enticed at all by the select techs. I hope you like them and they work for you. Your trip to AC sounds like a ton of fun. I always struggled to pay daycare in the summer, it was quite expensive for 3 kids. For Jerod's summer camp this year it was $1200. That includes all field trip fees (4 trips per week), and he does have to bring his own lunch everyday. It's so much more affordable now just paying for 1 kid. I hope things work out for on the job front.

Lori-I hear yah...I'd rather w/o than organize stuff too. Life is too short, use the time you have for things you want to do. I'm always on a quest to be more organized and less cluttered. Like Wendy said, it doesn't stay that way for long anyway.

Jen-my trainer gives us a different w/o everytime but still hard none the less. The layoffs will be continuing through the summer. I'm just crossing my fingers that I'm not one of them. Although I wouldn't mind being off for a few months. We probably couldn't afford much more than that anyway.

Jacque-I say suck it up and go workout. You'll probably feel much better after a good sweatfest anway.

Laura-Hope you PIA is staying out of your way today!

Well I finally made it here today . . . Just got finished reading !

The workout last night felt good and by the afternoon today I was feeling my legs a bit while getting up and down outta my chair and climbing the stairs. Wasn't feeling like I went heavy enough but I guess I got some benefit from it.

I had a great meeting with a lady I met last week while networking and she is going to help me figure out where I can add to my knowledge or experience to hopefully move on up in my career. Funny but my boss chatted with me a bit about moving our Corp office to our manufacturing site a half hour away. He wanted to know if I would go (mind you I could go 1/2 an hour in the other direction for a much better career path and probably at least another 20K). I had the opportunity to tell him that I am bored and tired of the administrative work that is not challenging at all. Whew ! great to get that off my chest (even though I mentioned it during my review a few months ago). I said I'd go for a while, but probably not long term as I am not feeling productive. We'll see if that helps - though I am not crossing my fingers because I don't think he can do much about it.

Those two things in and of themselves have given me some energy I lacked the last few days - I'll be running on the TM as soon as I am done here.

Lori - Good for you on the "new bedroom" for DS, your weights and guessing you got your run in ! I too LOL'd at your comment about labels on the Rubbermaid containers ! I learned when I had 3 little ones in 4 years that time is too precious to waste it on things that don't matter to you. Priorities are more important ! I try to stay "picked up" (not always successful) and it is much easier now with no kids around ! :p (However I still have DH ya' know?) I'm with you - Exercise is usually #1, food in the fridge is #2 and from there, whatever happens, happens ! I ended up with a huge bag of tri tips from Costco - yummy grilled steak is a fav of mine - paired with artichokes ! Also got some cottage cheese to go with my raw veggies for lunch - yum again ! Other than that, nothing thrilling :D Oh Wait ! ! ! Space bags for ORGANIZING ! LOL ! Yep, I need to get the winter clothes outta my drawers so I can put my summer things in there. BUT it will have to be in between my workouts, Ha !

Wendy - Well good to hear you have DOMS from your workouts lady ! Not sure if you emailed about that job or not, but I suggest a phone call if you haven't done that lately. You know the saying about the squeaky wheel? If the hiring manager can't come to the phone, then at least she should get a message that you took personal time to make the call. (Did you read the LauraMax thread last week about the texting BF's?) Your personality shines more on the phone than in an email, and you just may get a chance to ask some questions or put in .02 about yourself?

Glad to hear the scale is cooperating with you now - thank goodness it was probably the meds - I am thinking that I haven't been eating enough for STS since I ate my usual and when not working out much am dropping a 1/2 to 1 lb. a day? I know it won't last really long, but I need to get into some pants that are not TIGHT ! And Congrats on the weights - Costco had some a while ago and I think I am remembering either $150 or $200. Will be interested in knowing what you think . . .

Jen - Woo Hoo GWF ! You must keep up with the reviews here and clue me in. I think it will be interesting to see what happens with "off" days either with energy expenditure or too many calories. You are so right about letting the "blahs" run their course. I dislike being nonproductive, but have learned to go with the flow until I can find my way back. I was doing pretty well for a while - hoping I am back on track again.

Diana - Sorry about the lack of sleep, but one of these days you'll catch up. Excitement sometimes works the opposite, huh? Hope you got a workout in, but if not, then to heck with it - chase the girls around a little more while you are with them ! I can't tell you how much exercise I got chasing my kids with their soccer balls, baseballs, basketballs, or just plain playing on the playground. Little ones seem to love to be chased - DGS never stops when we are visiting and squeals with delight if you play with him. Your girls aren't much younger than he is - it will be so much fun ! :D

Hope my being lazy getting here didn't miss you: HAVE FUN ! ! !
