Our beloved miss Lori informed me that the February thread hasn't been started. Here we are...ready for a new month! Wendy and I will be doing the STS/LIS 3 month rotation. Laura has already started this rotation but is playing it by ear.

The spring fitness challenge class starts on Monday. I'm already signed up but may have to have work with my trainer to design the program around my restrictions. Although I love this class, I'm a little nervous about joining my standard group since I know I won't be able to keep up. We are all friends but I don't want to hold anyone back because I'm too slow.

Laura-sorry you had to spend your day in a boring training session. Glad you are feeling yesterday's w/o though!!!

Wendy-the words would be Thank You!!! I found some recipes that look pretty good on the skinny taste site. Getting back into the cooking mode on a regular basis...well I'm not quite there yet. Standing exercises such sqauts, plie squats, deadlifts etc are fine. Once I get back to the rec ctr I can do leg extensions and curls, but lunges just aren't going to happen for awhile...they are my favorite exercise too. Walking downstairs is painful, but up is fine. I'll get there...just not sure how long its going to take.

Good Morning and TGIF! :D

So I had decided last night that I would get my arse outta bed and do as much of TurboBarre as I could depending upon how much time I had. Well ofcourse I had trouble falling asleep last night so when the alarm went off I was NOT getting out of bed! Oh well. So much for that! :rolleyes: Needless to say this is day #3 of rest for me. Still not 100% though so maybe it's for the best?

I DO intend to start the rotation tmrw though! That is the plan! Wish me luck! I'm askeered! :eek:

Diana:: Ok phew. Glad you are thankful to be doing more cooking! ;) I can only imagine how frustrated you are feeling being held back because of your recovery from surgery. I am sure though that your bootcamp friends will understand. Just do what you can do. No one can ask for more and soon enough you'll be whooping everyone's butt again! :D Arrrreeee yoooouuuuu reeeaaaaddddyyyy to start the new rotation tmrw? ;)

Hello Ladies!!!

I survived training - wow - BORING! ugh - my dang tonsil started hurting - and it got worse as I got home - So even tho I got home earlier than expected I didnt exercise was scared I would make it worse! :mad: well during night it killed me - I am popping ibuprofen for pain .. but when I swallow I have HORRIBLE taste - so thinking the tonsil is infected or has a bad ulcer on it .. @#%!@#$%!@#$%@#$% .. dang it .. we are going back to the casinos this weekend .. and I am on vaca MON .. I cant be sick!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Wendy - how are you feeling today???? I hate you are sick - but hopefully on the mend .. and glad you are sticking to rotation .. I have been following it ... well w/my own kinda twists to it .. and it is excellent - kinda gives you alternating cardio light weight - then heavy weights .. schedule .. :D

Di - you prbly gonna be your worst enemy in the class .. b/c you are so used to competing and giving it 110% .. and you will just have to keep reminding yourself .. you are injured and in recovery mode!!! dont be superwoman!!!

OK .. so I brought my clothes for heavy weights TB at the comm. cntr. ... but I dont know if I should try it .. or wait .. b/c of my stupid stupid tonsil!!!!! gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr .. we will see .. play it by ear ..

OK .. gotta go sign on cash - it is THIRD of month - that means INSANITY in the ASYLUM today!! :confused:

Hi Ladies,

We have snow and lot more is expected today. We probably got about 6 inches overnight and another 5-10" is expected throughout today. I'm working from home today along with a many others. No workout to report yet, but legs is still on tap, leaning towards SS lower body blast and abs.

Hopefully Lori will join in when she has time. She's a busy girl with a teenager, 5yr old and a newborn, whew!

Wendy-glad to hear you are still planning on starting the rotation tomorrow. The rotation starts off with weights, usually weight lifting is a bit easier when sick...I mean easier than a cardio w/o. Please listen to your body if you're simply not well enough to start then put it off another week. Feel better vibes heading your way!!!

Laura-glad your boring training class is over. Oh no, you are getting sick too....Feel better vibes heading to you too!! I will have to modify cardio for sure....probably starting with just a step (no risers) but hope to get back to 100% in a few months. I was huffing and puffing during KPC and that has normally been an "easier" w/o for me. Have you made a decision about teaching at the community center?

Hi Girls,

I was going to check in earlier this week but the thread wasn't started and I thought it would be best to start my post in a new thread:)
Everything here is pretty good, as good as it gets with a new born in the house. He's a good baby and hasn't cried much yet ( knock on wood). He likes to be awake from 12-3 thought which is bit of a problem! Last night was a better night though. Hopefully I am breaking him of that cycle.
Labor wasn't a walk in the park. I went to the hospital at 4:30'ish and he was born at 7:01. I didn't have any time for any drugs b/c by the time the drugs would have kicked in the baby would have been born. So it was just straight gas which I think, just makes you focus on your breathing and distracts you from the pain:confused:. Plus he was the biggest baby I have had, 8 lbs 7 oz. Big boy. I would have never dreamt he was going to be that big.
My house was crazy all week cause my mom and sister were here, the door was always swinging but it's calmed down a lot now.
Anyway I feel well enough to try a workout of some sort today. I was going to go look at the low impact series cause I haven't tried any of those yet.

Hopefully I can start making checking in a daily thing once I get some kind of routine in place!

Hi ladies,

Disc 16 completed as per day 1 of the rotation. Made the mistake of getting on the scale midday....it was the worst I've seen it in months. So glad to be starting this rotation and my class at the rec ctr. I plan on drinking plenty of water over the next couple days since that usually gets me down about 3lbs in a few days.

Heading out to a Tea that one of the groups my MIL belongs to is hosting.

We got a total of 18" of snow between Thursday night and Friday. I'm sure the roads will be messy heading to the Tea.

Lori-glad you are back with us. You are amazing, if anyone can find time to w/o with 3 kids in the house...its you!!!

Wendy-How'd did the hair turn out??? Did you start the rotation today? Hope you are feeling better.

Good Morning Girls:)

Just a quick check in cause its soon feeding time. After feeding time, its bath time and then Im going to workout! Any ideas on which low impact one I should try? I didn't do anything yesterday after.

I have been up two nights in a row now with a bad stomach and I think its pinned gas. Sorry if that's TMI:confused: but I haven't been going to the bathroom regularly since he was born. He was sound a sleep last night and I was pacing the floor. So I think a workout might help if that is the problem. Lord knows sitting around wont.

I guess everyone will be busy watching the super bowl today...not this gal:rolleyes: Its funny b/c football isn't that big around here but ya know...the men HAVE to get together for the super bowl!!!

Hi Ladies,

I'm doing leaner legs instead to TriSets LowerBody. Wendy shared another workout site on FB where I previewed tons of glute exercises so those will be taking the place of lunges today.

DH is having some friends over for the superbowl later today. He is busy cooking up stuff...not healthy stuff either but I'm going to try to abstain from the bad stuff as much as possible. My weight is up and I think its due to eating peanut butter right out of the jar the last week. I printed off Michi's Ladder and may give following that eating program a go for a couple weeks.

Lori-Why don't you try Cardio Supersets. It's low impact and incorporates weights too. I'm sure moving around a bit will help your tummy.

Hi Girls-

I managed Leaner Legs with only a few modifications. I did hip lifts with my 50# bb during the step ups...Let me just say my hamstrings were quivering by the end..and my glutes got a good w/o too. For the lunges, subbed side lunges and definitely felt those. Just for good measure, I threw in BR BODYROCK.tv | Fitness Advice, Workout Videos, Health & Fitness | Bodyrock.tv. Also had to modify the burpees...but it was a goodie and much more enticing than the elliptical I had planned.

Off to shower and clean up around the house.

Hi Girls.

Sorry I've been MIA. Busy weekend. Pretty much non-stop the whole time! Thankfully mostly fun stuff too!

Y'day I did STS D16 as per the rotation and today D18 because I am moving all of the STS work outs to the weekends since they take longer then most of the LIS work outs. Tmrw I will do Trisets L/B which is what I think was actually on tap for today.

I have chili in the crockpot and plan to make spinach dip and nachos for the game. Going to have tons of left overs I am sure since it's only the three of us eating. Oh well. It'll be good!

No time for personals but just wanted to pop in to let ya know I'm alive and well!

Last night's food was yummy and now we have chili to eat for dinner tonight. We only ate a little last night since I was made the dip and nachos as well.

New England lost last night. Made my DH happy. How was the mood in your houses, ladies?

Got up this morning and did Lower Body Trisets! Good stuff! Added on my own ab work on the dip station too! I think tmrw is Cardio Supersets IIRC. I really like that work out! :)

Hi Girls:)

This brings me back to 5 years ago when I use to check in with my free hand. Im not feeding him now but Im sitting here with him, waiting for him to wake up.

Yesterday I did cardio super sets. I previewed the video clips and I thought it was a wise choice. I havent fully decided if I am going to do something today or not. And I also dont know what i want to do. I might just walk on the tm for a while.

We had our first outting at walmart today and I totally forgot how long it takes to get somewhere! LOL We werre there for all of 20 mins...of course I managed to spend more then a hundred bucks.

Diana** I think yesterdays workout was just what I needed...not to much but just enough to make me happy:) I was so happy to be doing something! I feel skinner already;)

Wendy** No one in my house watched the super bowl:D He said he was going to but then he didnt leave the house. I dont have to worry about supper either. My MIL made soup on Sat so thats what we are eating today! I hate trying to figure out what to get.

I will check back in later if I end up working out:)

Oh I miss the baby days...kind of! ;):p:D Every stage has it's good with it's bad but baby days were so darned cute when he wasn't crying LOL and I'll actually take the crying any day over the smart mouth he's already developing! :eek::mad: No SB at your house? Good for you! I made the most of it and it was actually a nice evening. I was in the kitchen a lot cooking but when I did sit down to eat or relax in between I must admit that the game was pretty exciting and the wine I was drinking made it even better! :p
 
Hi ladies,

This morning was Cardio Super Sets per the rotation. I did the whole workout including the bonus step segment, but only on a 6" inch step. Tonight is the first class of the Spring Fitness Challenge. We do weigh-ins, bodyfat, measurements, step test, max pushups, max situps and flexibility. We usually have time for a short workout too.

Car trouble ruined my morning. I took DS to school...no problem, when I went to leave for work my car wouldn't start...UGHHH:mad: Woke up DS2 to give me a ride to work. Unfortunately his car was buried in snow and we had to dig it out. I finally made it to work and DH will be picking me up tonight. Hopefully the car can be fixed in the next couple days.

My family watched the superbowl, it was pretty low key. DH made some queso and I indulged in chips and queso. Working on cleaning up my diet after my several # weight gain which I'm attributing to a peanut butter addiction...and simply eating it by the spoonful outta the container several times last week.

Lori-Glad you enjoyed CSS. I figured it would be a good place to start and low impact to boot! Glad you are already feeling skinnier!

Wendy-you must be feeling better since you started the rotation on schedule. I need to check out some more recipes so I can plan some meals this week. The family is having biscuits and sausage gravy tonight, I will have a boca burger when I get back from class.

Laura-did you come back with a fatter wallet??? Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Di:: Yeup, feeling fine! YAY! I was still slightly under the weather Saturday but obviously not enough to not work out. As of y'day I felt fine! :D Oh I hate car trouble! Keep us posted on what the problem is! Hope it's minor! DH is having some car trouble of his own!!! He was on his way home on Friday night when his car died about a mile from the house. DS and I had to go pick him up. It was late too b/c he had gone to a wake about an hour away from us and was on his way back when it happened. He didn't get home until like 8pm and I had cooked dinner. Obviously DS and I gave up and ate w/o him but he understood. How much pb have you been eating that you think it caused weight gain? I ask b/c I eat it every day and have no problem. Only one measured tablespoon though on a bagel thin or ww bread...Now when I was pg that was another story! I would put it on anything and everything all day long! LOL :p Have fun at class tonight! Check out skinny taste and cooking light for new recipes. Those are my go to's! Wasn't your DH having friends over for SB?

Wendy-I ate 3 to 4 HEAPING spoonfuls for about 6 days straight. Not sure what I was thinking, but it sure tasted good. I actually want some right now but am abstaining.:D I'm having 2 clementines instead!! DH will be taking a look at my car tomorrow night he said. He's going to test the battery and alternator and replace whichever one is bad. Did your DH get his car fixed? Thankfully he wasn't too far from the house when it died on him.

Good Morning:)

No workout for me yesterday. Putting it off until the evening doesnt work! All the baby did was eat from 5:30 onward, I thought my boobs were gonna fall off:rolleyes: I think he had a touch of gas. He wasnt cross but he wouldnt settle either. I gave him something for that and he went to sleep at 11:30 and woke at 3:30 and 7:30. I can live with that!

DS is gone to preschool, house is pretty much in order and Im going to start a workout soon. Im also gonna weigh soon. I have a feeling it will soon stall but its only been a week.

Wendy** CSS was a good ease back workout, no jumping, nothing to complicated. The only thing I modified was the mountain climbers b/c my core strength just aint what it use to be! LOL

Diana** Sounds like your morning wasnt off to the greatest start yesterday. Just buy a new car;) Thats one way to solve that problem!

It looks as if DH will be leaving for depo soon:( He heard through a source that they are getting ready to ship him out in March month. Oh this is gonna be tough. The longest we have ever been apart is 3 weeks. 6 months is going to be hard and even harder for DS. But it will be worth it in the end, thats what I have to keep telling myself.

I will bbl with hopefully a workout to report!

I.AM.SO.SO.SO.SOOOO.SORE!!! My glutes and hamstrings are FLAMIN' somethin' fierce! OMG! :eek:

That first exercise in CSS where you squat into a single leg alternating kick was sooo not fun this morning! :p

DH was snoring pretty bad last night. :mad: He woke me up 3 or 4x early on and in short order. We went to sleep at 10 and by 11 I was on the couch. :rolleyes: Not happy about but it could've been much worse! :eek: Once I was on the couch I slept soundly atleast.

Diana:: Wow, that IS a lot of PB but I get it cause it's sooooo good! :eek: Yeah- pointing out anything BR is NOT a good idea right now but lucky for you I already saw it so I can't blame you if my exercise ADD starts to kick in! LOL ;)

Lori:: What's "depo"?? Where's your DH going? You have a newborn! I'd be freaking out! :eek:
 
Finished my workout:) I did 30 mins of walking on the TM, mixed in with 1/2HR. Hopefully tomorrow I will finish it and another walk. Its probably best I try and get my workout in when there is only one child in the house:eek:

Wendy** DH applied for the RCMP(royal canadian mounted police) back in June. Its been a long process (obviously). We went into it thinking that he didnt have a chance for a few reasons but he passed the exam....then he was selected and he just kept passing everything. So here we are! Looks like he will be leaving for a few months. It will be tough and Im sure I will be wailing my eyes out for a while but once I get a routine in place, Im hoping it will fly by. I will probably spend every weekend at my parents house or they will probably be in a lot.

Hi Ladies,

No workout to report for this morning. Having to carpool kind of puts a damper on my morning workouts. Hopefully just one more day...DH is taking care of it. The rotation called for STS Back & Biceps and I should be able to do it after dinner.

My class at the rec ctr started last night...so happy to be back working out, even if I have to modify. We did all the testing, 3 min step test, max pushups, max situps, flexibility, weight, BF etc. She did have a workout but all the preliminary stuff took the whole hour. Tomorrow will be a real test with Low Impact challenge on the schedule. I've already decided that if I can't hang with stepping, I'll use my elliptical tomorrow.

Lori-congrats on DH getting his new job!! Has he sold his part of the business to his business partner or are you looking for someone to buy him out. I'm sure it will stressful with him gone but I'm sure you will manage just fine. Glad you liked CSS! I'm sure your six pack will be back in no time!!

Wendy-snoring...I know all about that. DH has a c-pap machine he uses at night and I don't have to listen to all that snoring anymore. I've spent numerous nights on the couch. My legs, especially hamstrings are sore from LL the other day too!! I'm going to try to get Jerod to follow the BR February rotation, we'll see how it goes. I love their new calendar format.
