Man, I'm glad my boss is away

Had a lazy day work wise -- I killed part of godawful evil experiment so it was only mostly evil but mind numbingly boring (I have no idea how the others do this experiment day in and out -- I've been at it for almost two years now and I still dread it). I got to the gym to do some elliptical work done which was nice. I got to leave earlier than usual but I did so much housework that I still was tired so I only did the first half of Imax2 (frankly, I need to be super psyched to do the whole thing and even then...).
I'm going to do Low Impact Circuit tomorrow -- I'll drive in late but that's ok since I don't have any real experiments planned tomorrow. Also, more house hunting. I see-saw in between getting excited and going, wait the market out some more before committing to anything. I did see a super cute cottage in the listings today but I don't think I'll be able to drop by their until Saturday. The places we're going to see tomorrow are near the bottom of my list but you never know, I may get surprised. But its funny...DH and I treat rooms now, "is this big enough for an exercise room?" I guess we figure if we're going to go into so much debt, we better get enough space to finally have a workout room so I can do my step, he can have his elliptical and his weight bench and I can finally treat him to a smith machine (and myself too).
It's nice going to bed lazy.

Hi Hottie! ;-)
I remember the day when I was writing my dissertation (qualitative on stay-at-home-dads). Yes, I didn't have to do experiments with quantiative data, but the writing was TOUGH!! I used fitness as my respite. I would love to own a Smith Machine. In fact, if I were stranded on an island, it would be the one piece of equipment I would take with me. Okay, maybe my adjustable set of dumbbells as well. Enjoy your workout tomorrow!! Laura |

>Hi Hottie! ;-)
Omigosh, if people just refer to me as that on this forum I'm sure my self-esteem will just skyrocket. The name hottiescientist was a joke between me and another postdoc but I liked the name so much that I took it to be my normal screenname and now I just love it! Seriously though -- my experiments have not worked in so long that I arrange my time to make sure I can put some time into exercise because its one of the few things that makes me feel good in grad school. That sounded sadder than it is, but yeah, its sorta true... :-) |

I totally relate. When I was writing my dissertation, I would write for about three hours in the morning and then go for a run (I hadn't discovered Cathe yet). Then I would take a break for lunch and return to writing for another two hours. Exercise was my respite. Good luck on your experiments today!
