Am I really back?

Sometimes I wonder. I spent 5 years faithfully working out and clean eating and made some radical changes to myself physically. But the past couple of years - well let's just say I've taken quite a few steps backwards.
So now I hope to try and recapture at least a part of the fire I once had, if for no other reason than I need it for my mental health. Because of the no impact rule laid down by the ortho, I am working on the recumbant bike. I spent Monday and Wednesday on it for 45 minutes using the interval heart rate control program. I enjoy the bike but I loved, LOVED my treadmill and my videos. DH says if I keep working I will be able to do them again some day. He is so sweet.
I know I need to build up some endurance and then I am going to add in muscle building to my program. If I feel good about my progress I will work with my other weight workouts (including Cathe) prior to STS coming out. But I am so eager for STS, and with the 1RPM thing then I think that I can do it even if I"m not at my prime, right? Isn't that the whole point to STS - getting to your prime.
On my off days I sit in my sauna and read to try and unwind.
I talk to DM every day and was lucky to have her come for Thanksgiving. We got to show her everything we have done to the place and she met Baby Lucy (our almost 2 year old Shire filly), and the dogs and the 2 cats we have acquired since she last came. After talking to her Doctor she has discovered that there is nothing science can do and the bladder cancer will eventually kill her. So from here on out we just try to live each day to the fullest and ask that the next day will be better than the last.
I am really going to work towards my goal of getting back some of the ground I have lost and not losing any more.
Let's all make this a turn-around year for ourselves and our economy.

Michelle: Its so awesome that you are getting back on the wagon. What's great is that you have actually seen the benefits and radical changes that can come from being amazingly focused. Step by step you'll get there. I especially understand it from the mental health perspective. This will definitely be a fantastic year for turn arounds!
Very sorry to hear about your DM... Have you ever heard of Morinda Tahitian Noni Juice? (I swear I'm not a seller! *lol*) One of our family friends was given an incredibly grim cancer sentence and she began drinking the juice by the cupfuls. It made an amazing difference in how she felt and the doctors were amazed at how wrong their predictions were. Just a thought. P.S. You have a horsey!?!! LUCKY!! ^_^ |
