Two Week Review
So here's the ugly truth: I completed my SECOND week and my scale still did not budge!
WTF????
I have to admit that i really did not even want to post this however i want to be as honest as possible and what better place right?
I am really trying not to obsess on that freaking # on the scale but i gotta say it ain't easy! While i have not been super strict with my diet i have been eating better than i have in months so this is really discouraging. After week one i suspected that it may be PMS related. I just started my period this morning so i'm really hoping that was a factor.
For the last two weeks here's what my rotation was:
Day 1: Basic Step + Lower Body Add on
Day 2: Rest
Day 3:Basic Step + Upper Body Add on
Day 4:Stretch Max
Day 5:Basic Step + Abs Add on
Day 6:Upper + Lower Body Add On
Day 7: StretchMax
By the end of week one i was already getting bored with Basic Step so during week two i subbed in Turbo Jam for Basic step and I subbed in Jari Love Ripped to the Core for Day 6. I also began to do Yoga instead of StretchMax since i still want to maintain my yoga practice.
Here is what i have scheduled for Week 3 & 4:
Day1: Body Fusion
Day 2:Lower Body Add On + Stretch Max
Day 3: Body Fusion
Day 4: Yoga
Day 5: 40 minutes treadmill + StretchMax
Day 6: Upper + Lower Body + Abs
Day 7: Yoga
I am trying to stay positive and trust that if i stick with my workouts and keep eating well that the scale will move.

Oh, that sucks. Yeah, I'm surprised you're not seeing anything after 2 weeks. If you usually gain weight before your period, then it's reasonable to assume that you're seeing a 2 pound loss offset by your 2 pound gain (or whatever you usually gain during your period), resulting in no net weight change. I guess you'll find out soon enough.
If it's not your period, then you must be underestimating your calories. I remember when I found out the popcorn I was eating as a snack every day had almost twice as many calories in it as I'd thought (why do they make it so hard to figure out the calories in those microwave bags?). So I'd been eating almost 1000 calories more a week than I'd thought. Are you measuring out your portions or just eyeballing them? Are you nibbling a lot and not counting those calories? I don't mean to accuse you of poor dieting -- I'm just thinking about the things I've done in the past that caused me problems. Now that I'm writing this, I realize I don't remember if you're actually counting calories at all. If you're not, you may have to start. I was just about to write in my own blog about how a few days ago my scale showed a pound GAIN but then yesterday it showed a net 2 pound loss overall. Just one of those things. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't know already, but if you're confident than you're on target for your food intake/energy output situation, then you have to just be patient and wait for the scale to recognize your efforts. But if you go much longer without seeing any loss at all, you may need to rethink your diet plan. The scale is a finicky bitch, but she doesn't lie. |

You know, I bet the fact that you started your period is a BIG factor on the scale not budgeting. My stomach gets HUGE when I am PMSing...really discouraging, but it doesn't last so keep that in mind.
Are you using the same scale for all of your measuring. I know different scales give you different numbers. Honestly my scale moves between -/+ 2 pounds or so everyday. It's kind of crazy. I like to take the how does my body look approach....before and after pictures are a BIG motivator. I really hope it was your period that caused the scale not to budge. We'll see in a week or so right? Baby steps girlfriend. |

Thanks for the support!
Truthfully, I may need to pay more attention to my diet. I've never really counted calories. It seems like too much work but i may have to learn more about that.I remember i once did weight watchers and i found it really hard to log everything and count points. Yesterday i started by just writing down everything i ate but i haven't gone so far as to figure how many calories. |
