I journal every day on my own, so might as well share them here too!
Whirlwind Weekend & SQUEAKY Clean Monday Start!!
Posted 09-16-2008 at 08:30 AM by Boingo1
What a whirlwind weekend and Monday!!
Saturday was the cumulation of our busy week of preparation , as we had the Boys' Big Yearly Birthday Bash! The weather held out, and we had the best party, in spite of a few of my family members no showing and hurting MY feelings. But it didn't stop the party from being fun! We had the Gladiator Jousting (set up on a big huge bounce house base) , which was a hit with all the kids that came. They didn't stop moving the entire time.
I actually didn't do TOO bad with food choices on Saturday... Until , the cake. There is something about frosting and cake that get to me. Every time. Ugh.
Sunday I woke up in the wee hours of the morning with one of my famous crappy headaches. Yuck. As they always go, I took Advils, Benadryl, Tylenol throughout the day.. nothing helped. I couldn't take my perscribed headache medication, because it makes me lightheaded , and I had to go to work Sunday night. So off I went to work... feeling so bad. Headache, and my foot being sore. The night dragged by. I didn't have an assignment, I just helped out due to a new patient ID system they put into place. So I was kind of a buffer to help with any problems with the system. It was a good thing, I thought, I could eleveate my broken toe/foot more. It didn't work. My toe THROBBED and got all swollen throughout the night. Plus , the headache from hell pressed on. ...
Sunday I DID make better food choices as well. I kept to "Core" all day , but at worked had a few graham crackers and SF Hot Cocoa for a snack. Still not 'bad'. The girls ordered out, and I resisted! I stuck with my Core snacks that I had brought. *pats self on back*
Monday morning couldn't come fast enough. Me and my Fred Flintstone toe made it home, and to bed! Ahhhhhhhhhh... LOVED my bed more than anything. I slept 4 and 1/2 hours and got up, thinking of the stuff I had to do. Yet another brownie baking had to be done for my YOUNGEST son's birthday , for school. I did MUCH better with these... VERY little picking. I did the "gum" trick. Put a piece of gum in my mouth so I wouldn't lick the batter from the bowl (and there was extra!!). And as soon as any pieces broke off, I'd put them in a pile for DH to eat!! LOL!.
I didn't feel as out of it or as irritible as I usually do on Mondays after working 2 overnight, 12 hour shifts. Got through Homework hour and reading time with the kiddos. After they went off to bed, I popped the biggest bowl of air popped popcorn and settled in and watched the finale of "The CLoser". (Anyone else watch? Anyone else cry like a baby at the ending????).
I'm looking forward to the week. The weather is going to be spot on: Sunny , 70's, dry during the day. Clear, crisp 40-50's at night! I'm excited about eating CLEAN all week, and I think I figured out how to download some relaxation techniques on to my iPod. So that is going to figure in as well....
OH! And best of all, I was able to do a Turbo Jam workout on Sunday... So my foot is able, with a few modifications. The plan is to sub any cardio in my rotation with TJ this week. I got my cardio back!!!
Just feeling so good today... Off I go ....
