I journal every day on my own, so might as well share them here too!
Bad Weekend, Recovery Monday...Sort of

Monday.... I love that it was finally Monday for many reasons, but I was pooped
. And irritible. Ugh. I hate the way I feel on Mondays.
The weekend was filled with turmoil. First , 7 year old Jake, was diagnosed with Pneumonia!! THAT is why he wasn't getting better and the fever wouldn't go away all week. Poor kiddo! It took lots of running around and waiting around on Saturday to figure this out. I felt so horrible I had to go to work on Saturday night and leave him. DH stayed home from work though (he works nights too). So for that I was grateful. BUT.. it wasn't mommy. And when I called home to see how Jake was , he told me Jake was dozing on and off on the couch. I asked what his temperature was (since it had been running 103-104), and he said, "Oh , I didn't take it.". Men!! He ended up checking it after our phone call, and yes, it was 103.8
!! Finally on Sunday , Jake's fevers broke, and he started getting better with the antibiotics. Though he has one nasty cough. It just seems to go through his entire body when he coughs! He did go back to school on Monday though. And did well!
I'm embarassed to say, I turned to food on Saturday
. Crap food. So stupid, but I felt out of control and things were so crazy and stressful. Sunday wasn't much better. I could have made better choices. I also could have made worse. So I'm calling it a 30% weekend.
I got up Monday, weary & fatigued. But I hadn't been able to do a workout on Saturday, so I had 2 rest days last week. Thus, I NEEDED to get into something. I did a total body weight workout: Muscle Endurance. Tough one! But I belted out what I could, struggling on some, but getting it done nonetheless.!!
Supper was hectic, as usual. I made one of my favorite new dishes: Roasted Tomato Beef Goulash w/ Caraway Seeds. Good stuff! And then I finally chilled out after my kiddos got to bed, with my what seems to have become my Monday snack : BIG Bowl of air popped popcorn.
I was also able to finally get my new dose of Synthroid for my thyroid. I start it on Tuesday. Hopefully it will give me some more "oomph" , because I've been feeling like a wet dishrag. My thyroid level being off could certainly cause some of that!
Off to a new week. I'm looking forward to eating better and getting in some good workouts! Oh! One thing I inadvertantly discovered this weekend at work: There's a good chance I could start running again! We have patients that we put on Bed Alarms (an alarm goes off if they try to get out of bed without calling for help). When the alarms go off, we generally RUN to get there quickly. Well, I haven't been able to do that with my toe for the last few weeks. But I DID do it on Sunday night! Running WORKED! I did have my crocs on , so the only questionable thing would be how it would feel in snug sneakers, but I think I'm going to find out sometime this week!!
