First outdoor ride in a while

I've been having challenges with my bike tires. I would get through half a workout on my trainer, and the back one would go flat. I finally (after 4 trips to the local bike shop) got the issue figured out, and the tire has stayed inflated for a few weeks. But, it was with a lot of nervous, promises from DH that he would come pick me up, etc, that I headed out the door Saturday.
The ride was harder than I thought it would be for a 30 miler (rolling hills - only one short, steep hill), but I did it and kept up my average speed. I really do enjoy riding in this kind of weather. It was sunny, but chilly. Just perfect. Most of the other cyclists (this is a popular route with nice wide bike lanes and it can be easily made into a 70-80 mile loop) were friendly and happy to out on such a nice day. I did get passed (as if I were at a stand still, actually) but a 30 something European on an old bike wearing 70's shorts (you know SHORT shorts) and a sweatshit.
Proof that you don't have to wear technical fabrics to be fast, but I think I'll stick to those.
