I hope you don't mind me jumping in. I saw the "TTC" and it brought me back. About 12 yrs ago I was ttc. I was on the message boards of babycenter daily! I will try and nutshell this....
I went off bcp and got pregnant right away. I had a miscarriage at 9wks. We were told to wait a cycle and try again. We did...and then nothing!!!! We tried for almost a year before I discovered that I wasn't ovulating at all. Tried Clomid and that made me o but no pg. I even forget when, but I did get pg but mc'd again. I started reading this awesome book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility, by Toni Weschler. I learned how to monitor my cycle in many ways. I found out that I was actually ovulating around day 20! Not the norm! Long story short I did finally get pg! from start to finish it took me 2 yrs to fianally get pg with my son. When he was a yr old we tried again. It took a year of trying but then I got pg with my daughter.
I too was told by family and friends to "just relax and it will happen"!! grrrrr!
If only it were that easy!
Definitely check out that book. I learned so much about my body! No need to spend money on opk. The book will teach you how to monitor the signals that your body gives you. It is really quite amazing!
